Only 26,000 Carfax Certified One Owner Miles

Documented With Dealer Bill of Sale and Window Sticker

Could Possibly be the Lowest Mileage One Left!!

Just Serviced and Inspected

Rare Opportunity............................LOW RESERVE

Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer possibly the nicest 1985.5 Porsche 944 Available anywhere! 1985.5 was the upgraded version, and saw major changes over the previous model. Most notable is the re-designed dash, improved HVAC system, and a flush mounted windshield, along with much improved control arms. This design lasted right up into the 90's. This is a documented one owner car!!! It was originally purchased at Island Porsche Audi in May of 1985. It appears to me that it was an ordered car, due to the specific list of options, AND the seldom seen Automatic Transmission. All of the paint has been applied in 1985 by the factory with the exception of the hood(I used a paint meter). Cosmetically this 944 is just Gorgeous. There are a few spots on the top of the right fender where it looks like something was spilled on it. There is also some VERY light wear to the drivers bolster from sliding in and out. Monogrammed mats are present. Included in the sale is an accessory glass sunroof panel, alomg with the original factory painted one. There is also a car cover as well. We have 2 keys, and the owners books, along with original bill of sale, and the factory window sticker. It runs and drives fantastic with Ice Cold Air Conditioning. We have JUST had the timing belt and water pump replaced with an ECS Tuning kit to also include accessory belts, rollers and a thermostast. Tires are BFG Comp T/A's with about 60% remaining. This is an original and unmolested example that appears to have always been garaged and covered. It runs and drives as you would expect, with no unpleasantries noted. Porsche Lovers everywhere get weak in the knees when one like this becomes available. A One owner 944 that was apparently treated like one of the family! Examples like this one are unheard of! Most have over 200 Thousand miles by now, and are still going strong.

Take a look at the 45 photographs below and see the actual pristine condition of this One of A Kind 1985.5 Porsche 944 is.

Our love of SUVs is killing people in the streets

Tue, Jul 17 2018

Americans are fond of supersized fast-food meals and colossal convenience-store fountain drinks, even though they're clearly bad for our health and U.S. adults keep getting fatter. We also like large vehicles, and our love affair with SUVs is killing people in the streets. According to a recent investigation by the Detroit Free Press/USA Today, the increase in SUV sales over the past several years coincides with a sharp rise in pedestrian deaths in the U.S. — up 46 percent since 2009, with nearly 6,000 people killed in 2016 alone. With SUV sales surpassing sedans in 2014 and pickups and SUVs currently accounting for 60 percent of new vehicle sales, it's no wonder Ford announced in April plans to cease U.S. sales of almost all passenger cars. And this followed Fiat Chrysler's move to virtually an all-truck, -SUV and -crossover lineup. While the Freep/USA Today investigation found that the simultaneous surge in SUV sales and pedestrian deaths comes down to vehicle size, it also points to a lack of action on the part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), even though it knew of the dangers SUVs pose to pedestrians. Also blamed are automakers dragging their feet on implementing active safety features. Using federal accident data, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) determined that there was an 81 percent increase in single-vehicle pedestrian fatalities involving SUVs between 2009 and 2016. Freep/USA Today's analysis of the same data by counting vehicles that struck and killed pedestrians instead of the number of people killed showed a 69 percent increase in SUV involvement. As far back as 2001, researchers at Rowan University forecasted a rise in pedestrian deaths as Americans began switching to SUVs. "In the United States, passenger vehicles are shifting from a fleet populated primarily by cars to a fleet dominated by light trucks and vans," the researchers wrote, with light trucks comprising SUVs.

2014 Porsche 911 Targa

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

I've watched the electro-hydraulic roof panel open and close about 73 times in the past hour, but its fascinatingly complicated operation still has me mesmerized. I've concluded that only a German automaker - Porsche, to be more specific - would go through the trouble of engineering a roof system that essentially lifts the entire greenhouse off a vehicle, rearranges its components like a sliding-tile puzzle, and then reassembles all of them seamlessly (sans roof panel) to accurately recreate one of its most famed bodystyles.
The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa is a near-perfect modern interpretation of the automaker's 1965 911 Targa, a semi-convertible bodystyle that represents nearly 13 percent of all 911 models sold since production started 50 years ago. While the early car's roof was purely manual in operation - that's the period-correct way of saying that the driver did all of the muscle work - today's Targa is a completely automated transformation that requires only that the driver hold down a cabin-mounted switch for a mere 19 seconds to let the captivating show run its course.
After studying the Targa's elaborate roof operation at its launch at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, I was sufficiently intrigued. To that end, I traveled one-third of the way around the planet to southern Italy, hoping that the Mediterranean climate would reveal a bit more about the reintroduction of the automaker's iconic sports car.

Porsche 991 vs. 930 Flatnose in 911 Turbo convertible faceoff

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

The Porsche 911 Turbo has a legacy of being a tough car to drive. With a ton of power set right over the rear wheels, its reputation is to lose control as soon as the driver stops concentrating. However, this isn't quite so true anymore. The modern ones are tamed through technology with things like hydraulically controlled engine mounts, not to mention all-wheel drive. In its latest video, Autocar tries to decide whether 25 years of progress really makes the turbo a better vehicle.
It's summer, so what better version to compare than the 911 Turbo Cabriolet? In one corner, Autocar has the latest and greatest 2014 version pumping out 513 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Its challenger is a 1989 911 flatnose convertible sporting 326 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque. It's a truly rare car in the UK with only eight of them remaining on the roads in that region.
Granted, this test isn't so much a battle as it is a comparison. There's no question that the modern 911 would beat the classic in practically every objective category. What the video aims to find out is whether the flatnose is better in subjective measurements like its "feel." Scroll down to watch these two droptop Porsches square off.
