You are bidding on a 2 owner 1984 Porsche 944 in Guards Red over Black Leather interior.  This is a good original, relatively low mileage Porsche that is ready to be shown or driven.

This particular 944 is in good overall condition as can be seen by the photos.  It is not a restored car, but a good original car that has been driven and maintained along the way.

The exterior of the car is in good condition having been completely refinished a number of years ago.  Everything was done at the time to include even the painted trim and black wheels.  The Guards red paint remains in exceptional condition with only minor chips or scratches to be found.  The trim and wheels show additionally some light peeling in areas.

The interior of the car (seats, cockpit, carpet, door panels and dash) are also in very good original condition. The black leather seats themselves show only normal wear with one small one inch split in the driver seat cushion.  The dash top shows some slight cracking in places.  Comes as well with a practically brand new set of Porsche floor mats (see photo).

Mechanically the car runs and drives well.  It starts easily, idles great and runs strong with the Clutch, Transmission and Brakes all working exactly as they should.  In fact everything is working exactly as it should although you might be inclined to give the AC a fresh charge.

All 4 Alloy wheels are in good shape while riding on almost new Falken VISA size215/60R15 high performance radials (see photo).

Included as well are the original Owners manual, a workshop manual and original Sales Literature for the 1984 Porsche 944.

Please ask all questions prior to bidding and do not bid unless you intend to buy. Vehicle is being sold as is where is with no warranties either expressed or implied. A $1,000 non-refundable purchase deposit is due within 2 days of the close of the auction.

Porsche's Tesla-fighter could have 600 hp and 300-mile range

Sun, Feb 22 2015

Will this be the Ragin' Pajun? Some details on the all-electric "Tesla fighter" from Porsche have been revealed by UK's Car magazine, and, to put it bluntly, the model that has preliminarily been dubbed the 717 will be an absolute beast when it hits the road as early as 2019. With some technological help from parent company Volkswagen, Porsche is planning a model that will have about a 300-mile single-charge range, and a version that may deliver as much as 600 horsepower. The four-door will also be four-wheel-drive, with one electric motor per axle, and four-wheel steering, all for the sake of consistency, Car says. Additionally, unlike the Tesla Model S, with its battery packs running flat along the floor of the vehicle, the 717's battery layout will be far more complex, complete with bulkhead walls and 108 separate battery pouches. Last month, German publication Auto Motor und Sport reported that the Panamera's junior variant, aka the Pajun, was indeed going to be an all-electric affair. Still, beyond a few digital renderings and an estimated single-charge range of 250 miles, few details were revealed.

'Faster. Farther.' dives into the history of Porsche racing tech

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

No doubt, Porsche has produced some of the best endurance racecars around, such as the turbocharged, slant-nose 935 of the 1970s and the ground-effects-enhanced 956 and 962 of the 1980s. But the company's most famous racecar, its first overall winner at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, was the 917.
The 917 embodied many of Porsche's technological achievements up to that point, such as the company's first 12- and 16-cylinder engines (the flat-16 was never used in competition), fiberglass bodies that implemented early aerodynamic practices and the use of new, exotic materials, such as magnesium and titanium.
The racecar was commissioned by the head of Porsche Motorsports, Ferdinand Piëch, to win overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1970, after he realized a loophole in the rules that allowed cars to compete with engines up to five liters in the Sport category if they were also production models. Piëch saw opportunity: the top prototype class was restricted to three liters; the production minimum to compete in Sport was 25 cars. And so, with much effort, Porsche assembled 25 "production" 4.5-liter 917s and had them parked in a neat line for the race inspectors to verify their legitimacy. It didn't take long before people realized the new Porsches were much faster than the prototype racers, with a top speed approaching 250 miles per hour.

Porsche Macan caught completely uncovered

Wed, 31 Jul 2013

Porsche is preparing to launch its sub-Cayenne CUV, with a suspected debut at the 2013 Los Angeles International Auto Show, which means we're right about at the point where undisguised models start scampering around the cities and towns of Germany. Our spy photographers snagged just such a model, with only the headlights and taillights concealed by camouflage (no, those comically large lamps aren't a production item).
The undisguised car looks like a tiny Cayenne. Not really surprising, we know, but it's impressive to see how the Cayenne's styling works with the smaller proportions of the Macan. It looks squat, athletic and poised, like it's a small, "sporty" crossover we'd actually want to drive. Both the Macan and the Macan Turbo are shown, with the more powerful model sporting a set of quad exhausts.
The only big questions now concern the shape of the lights and the interior. From the photos, we can see a rough outline of the headlights, although the taillights are more difficult to discern. The interior remains a mystery.
