PORSCHE 944 CABRIOLET CONVERTIBLE ROADSTER. OWN A PORSCHE THAT WILL TURN HEADS, but NOT DESTROY YOUR POCKETBOOK Porsche made very few factory 944 convertibles. (Cabriolet). This is A Very Nice low mileage for years, example. GREAT ENGINE. This one is an example of one that has been meticulously maintained with only 89,000+ ORIGINAL miles. Serviced by Dumont’s in OKC since 2009. ORIGINAL MANUALS, INCLUDING SECURITY RADIO AND EQUALIZER BOOKS!! ORIGINAL TOOL SATCHEL with TIRE and OTHER TOOLS! CLEAN HARDLY WORN CARPET both in TRUNK and interior. 1 ORIGINAL BOSE stereo system WITH EQUALIZER STILL WORKS PERFECT BUT CD only plays some CD’s for some reason. 2. ORIGINAL DOOR ALARMS with red blinking door lock and dash when armed 3 New front ball joints, struts 4 Replaced alternator, timing belt, shaft belt, cam belt ~79,000 under 3 years ago. New engine timing and balance belts New front lower control arms and ball joints NEW and fully installed. New front wheel bearings NEW TIRES!! only 1000 miles on tires Alignment Brake pads replaced in last 10,000 miles Engine 208 crank hp, or greater, as the S2 was one of the stronger It still feels to me as strong today at 89000 original miles as it did when off the showroom Exterior cosmetics Very good, not perfect. The car had been repaired and painted in the rear driver side, but not noticeable to anyone but someone in the business. A couple of small dings and a small dent in rear that looks like a designed detail, so no one ever notices it. Interior Excellent condition, all leather, but driver seat has a small hole left by a pencil I think. The dash is pristine — I keep it covered with a Dashmat, but has no aging or cracks etc. Comes with the stock seats. The driver side door storage panel has come out of its socket, (see picture) and I haven’t taken time to remove screws to reinsert. |

Porsche creates 'symphony' with seven generations of 911
Wed, 02 Oct 2013At Porsche, things are getting a bit wild on the 50th anniversary year of the 911. To celebrate it (again) in yet another inventive way, the automaker has called on the musical talents of seven generations of the rear-engine sports car (please suspend your disbelief, at least for the length of the video, and assume that generation two started in 1974) to perform a song that has eight notes. We're wondering which 911 is pulling double duty...
But before the Porsches are lined up for the short recital, the drivers let loose and drift them inside a hangar. Watch the video below, and tell us in comments which was more impressive: the song or the drifting.

Tue, 11 Nov 2014In the world of restomods, Singer Vehicle Designs is inarguably one of our absolute favorites. The company, founded by rocker Rob Dickinson, has made its name as an obsessive constructor of vintage, built-to-order Porsche 911s with modern internals and beautiful accouterments.
Xcar has put together a lengthy interview with Dickinson, covering the source of his fascination with the 911 and his passion for automotive design, before falling into his rock-and-roll days with his band Catherine Wheel. He also covers how he got into the world of modifying Porsches, rather than just restoring them. There's much, much more in the video, though, and we promise, you won't want to miss it.

Porsche ready to pick itself up after Le Mans failure
Mon, 23 Jun 2014It's safe to say that things for Porsche didn't go quite as well at Le Mans this year as it might have hoped. After a sixteen-year gap, the winningest manufacturer in endurance racing history returned to the Circuit de la Sarthe this year hoping maybe not for outright victory in its first time back, but definitely a strong finish on which it could build on for next year. All the while it undoubtedly hoped its 911s would hold their own in the GT classes.
Unfortunately for Porsche, neither happened. After racing around the clock, and despite actually leading the festivities for some time, the best its 919 Hybrid could manage was an eleventh-place finish, lagging lamentably behind not only the other LMP1s (like the race-winning Audi) but also a handful of LMP2s. Meanwhile the LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am titles went to the factory-backed teams of its arch-rivals Ferrari and Aston Martin, respectively.
Not a stellar result, in other words, but Porsche is taking it all in stride - accepting that it has a ways to go while congratulating its vanquishing rivals in the video below. It's good sportsmanship if we've ever seen it. Next year's race starts now.
