1991 Porsche 944 S2 Convertible End of Season Sale!! When this listing ends, I am paying to put the car into storage for the winter - So make me a reasonable offer. This is a very clean, very well maintained 944 convertible. We have driven the car a couple of thousand miles this summer. Just turned over 100,000 miles. Totally trouble-free. This is a blast to drive! Always dealer serviced. The sale includes all books and many records. A fresh CarFax report is available. Mechanically the car runs and drives as good as it looks. Powerful and smooth. Quiet. No leaks and no unusual noises. The timing belt and tensioner appear new. My fanatic mechanic had the timing cover off of the engine to thoroughly inspect the cog belt and mechanism. The clutch, transmission and brakes all function perfectly. The exhaust is quiet and solid. Suspension is in excellent, factory stock condition. Handling is pure Porsche. No shakes, no shimmies, no rattles. Just rock solid fun. Excellent factory alloy wheels with almost new Kumho Ectsa Sport tires. There are absolutely no dents, no scratches, and no dings or stone chips in the body. All factory chip guards and body protection is intact. The underside is as clean as the topside of the car. No rust at all, anywhere. This car has never seen winter, or road salt - and very little rain. See the photos of the door jambs - those are all original! The soft top is in excellent condition. No wear and no tears. The back window is clear and perfect. The top mechanism is excellent and the tonneau cover is as new. The interior has the leather upholstery option. It is in almost perfect condition. The dash has no cracks or fading. All of the switches and warning lights, instruments and controls work as new. The rear seat has never been used. And the passenger seat has no wear at all. The driver's seat does have a little fading on the outer bolster - very little - see the photos. There are no tears or thin spots in the leather, but a little dye repair is in order if you want it perfect. The driver's seat is missing a small trim cover at the outer hinge. It does show in the pictures, and does not affect the performance of the seat in any way. The power seat bolsters work perfectly, and the sliders and recliners work as new. The car has an after-market Clarion AM/FM/CD player with a multi disc player mounted in the trunk. The speakers are factory original. No holes or modifications have been made to the interior at all. The heat and air conditioning systems work as they should. The cruise control, power windows, and door locks all work as new. If you know these cars, you also know that they are a little rare. And they are very hard to find in such original and unmolested condition. I am selling the car with a full tank of ethanol-free 92 Octane gasoline and a fresh service. It is ready to drive anywhere in the continental US or Canada. Delivery is available at additional charge.

Porsche 911 GT2 RS vs. Mercedes SLS AMG Black in battle of who can shred more rubber
Fri, 04 Apr 2014We might be looking at the end of an era in European performance models. Mercedes-Benz is doing away with the SLS in favor of a rumored smaller and cheaper SLC, and Porsche has said that a new 911 GT2 isn't necessarily a sure thing, which means another 911 GT2 RS is even farther away. In its latest video, Evo's Jethro Bovingdon pits the ultimate versions of these German sports coupes against each other and finds two of the fastest cars the magazine has ever lapped around its track.
In one corner, there is the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series that sits as the pinnacle of the company's halo model. It relies on the classic setup of a V8 mounted in front powering the rear wheels. On the other side, there is the 911 GT2 RS with a turbocharged flat-six mounted at the back, spinning the rear wheels. It was conceived to be Porsche's ultimate expression of a turbocharged 911, and while it's a few years old, Bovingdon shows that it's up to the task of racing a more modern rival.
Both of these rear-wheel-drive monsters are more than capable of some fantastically smoky power-slides, but they also show how great the last generation of sports cars was. Scroll down to check out the video.
2015 Porsche 918 Spyder: Touring the factory
Wed, Dec 3 2014Willy Wonka granted just five lucky Golden Ticket holders access to his incredible chocolate factory, yet we consider ourselves just as fortunate, as Porsche invited us to be among the first of just four American journalists to see behind the closed doors of its 918 Spyder assembly plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany. Of course, there were no Oompa Loompas or flowing chocolate rivers, but the vast white hall tasked with producing only 918 examples of the automaker's limited-production flagship revealed details that make Wonka's Golden Egg sorting room seem rather mundane in comparison. Unlike a traditional automobile manufacturing plant, which often encompass all processes of making a vehicle (e.g., stamping steel panels, welding components and painting), the 918 Spyder is built in an assembly plant. This means that hundreds of already manufactured parts, each crafted by Porsche offsite suppliers, are brought under one roof to be assembled into a perfectly finished product that is much sweeter – and far more expensive – than any candy delicacy. Our tour guide was Michael Drolshagen, Porsche's Director of Production, Logistics and Quality - a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the engineering and assembly of the 918 Spyder. Drolshagen generously offered us unrestricted access to walk among the factory's 110 workers – and a couple-dozen vehicles in process – to photograph everything. This is a story best told with pictures, so we've put together a raft of our best images in a high-resolution gallery and captioned each with a detailed description. If you've still got questions, please voice them in Comments section and we'll do our best to answer.
2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S debut [w/video]
Fri, 03 May 2013
The Turbo S will dispatch the Nürburgring in "well under seven and a half minutes."
Porsche is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its 911 Turbo in the best possible way: by announcing the next-generation of the rear-engined beast. The 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo and Turbo S are here, and man oh man, do they seem like the business.
