1987 Porsche 944 S Coupe Rare Fast Trade-in No Reserve 5 Speed As-is Racecar! on 2040-cars
Nashville, Tennessee, United States
Up for grabs is this NO RESERVE 1987 Porsche 944, ultra rare S model! This Porsche features a five speed manual transmission, alloy wheels, sunroof, spoiler, and black leather interior. Vehicle just got a new alternator installed on 7/30, I have also had a new battery installed last week as well as a full tune-up. New fuel pump also installed. This 944 is NOT running currently. I have spent over $5,000 on this project and am not spending another dime, period! Vehicle starts, but will need to be trailered off my property. Starter engages, but vehicle will only stay "on" if the key is kept in the starting position. I have driven this vehicle twice, it was very fast and fun to drive. I then parked it, it would not start, and I do not have any additional funds to fix. I would be happy to give you the name and number of the mechanic who performed the tune-up and installed the fuel pump, after a conversation with me first. I do NOT know when the timing belt and/or chain and/tensioner was changed. Excellent value...again, no reserve auction, this car will sell. True Mileage Unknown. Tremendous potential for a racecar, project, etc. Motor is strong. This 944 has a clean title, and even a clean CarFax! Title will be released only after the outstanding balance has been collected. We charge a modest $199 doc fee, $25 to send the title via FedEx, and a .03% City of Nashville business tax, I only collect state sales tax for Tennessee residents. We accept cash, personal checks, cashier's check, wire transfers ($20 additional fee), and credit/debit cards (3% swipe fee additional). We ship nationally and internationally, I can have this 944 delivered to your door, please contact me directly with zip code for an estimate on shipping. Please only bid if you intend to buy! Please ask any and all questions BEFORE the end of the auction...my cell phone is 615-300-6004. I will not be positing any more pictures to this eBay ad, please contact me directly for additional pictures, they will be sent to you via email only. NO RESERVE! If you want to end the auction early, I am open to offers. This 944 will sell on eBay. |

Porsche Australia racing chief dies in crash
Wed, Dec 10 2014The motor racing community in Australia was saddened today to learn of the passing of Jamey Blaikie, a longtime racing administrator and former motorsport director for Porsche in Australia. A former racing driver in his own right, Blaikie was better known for his instrumental role in starting the Porsche Carrera Cup in Australia back in 2003. He left Porsche Cars Australia just last year to pursue other interests, including running an Aston Martin entry in the GT Asia series. Blaikie was in Fiji reportedly undertaking charity work there when his rental car collided with a truck, prematurely ending his life at just 52 years old. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and the motorsport community Down Under, where he'll surely be missed.
2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed statue unveiled
Thu, 11 Jul 2013Each year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a single marque is celebrated with a large and ornate "Central Feature" sculpture, with recent automakers including Audi in 2009, Alfa Romeo in 2010, Jaguar in 2011 and Lotus last year. This year, Porsche gets the honor, and it is using the opportunity to commemorate 50 years of the 911.
The sculpture features three generations of the 911 towering over the Goodwood House. The most recent 991 911 has the lowest position, with an original 1963 car second highest and a 1973 2.7 RS at the top of the pile. Be sure to check out the sculpture for yourself in the gallery of images above.
