1987 944 Porsche. Great condition considering the age, Alpine stereo that works with an iPhone/iPod and remote. Excellent gas mileage (about 29 mpg highway) car drives well and really strong motor. AC blows cold air, and works great. 5 speed manual transmission, shifts smooth.
I own and insure 7 vehicles and that's more cars than I need. Several need to go, including this one. I've driven it less than 600 miles this year including a drive to Myrtle Beach. The odometer broke at approximately 127,000 miles, but it's been well maintained and is probably less than 140,000 actual miles. The previous owner spent more than $4000 upgrading the car, new hoses, sensors, electronics, also, the power sun roof has a mechanism to disconnect it and remove it, place it in the hatch and enjoy the sun. The power Windows have Heavy Tint, sides and Hatch, great job controlling the temperature but each state may vary with what level of tint is acceptable and what is not approved.
The dash has a cap on it but it is coming up in several places and it would be best to have someone glue it back down. The cap is still in good shape, just needs to be glued down again.
Seats have signs of wear meaning the seat upholstery has separated at the seams in several places, nothing coming apart and rides comfortably but not as attractive as it once was. The electronic aspect of the seats works fine. The alarm system that was standard on this car was not working when I purchased it several years ago and I do not have the second key for that system.
All WearGuard floormats and great sound, nice drive and you'll have a great time with this car.
I did not renew the registration in April so it needs an inspection but ready to roll. I have it listed here based on what I paid but give me an idea of what your best offer is and we can go from there. And please understand, I do not finance the sale, so bring cash or a cashier's check.
The windows have heavy tint, approved in Georgia and I've not had any problems getting it inspected here, but I'm told it could be problematic with some inspectors.
The front pads brake sensor is broken and always on but the pads/rotors are good, anyway, all and all a good and really fun car to drive. Technically, it has a back seat but it's tight for normal people and difficult to use with a tall driver. I've never used it, but it's there.
If you saw this listing earlier you noticed it was briefly taken down. That was due to a discrepancy in the title status. Apparently there was a rear end collision involving this car and was issued a rebuilt title at that point some 15 years ago. I was unaware of it but that's what's listed on the Car Fax, thus the change. Nevertheless, I hold a clean title and that's what I'll give you at the time of sale. Again, I was unaware of the work but that's what's on the report. Thus the change. Thanks!

2014 Porsche 911 Targa
Tue, 15 Apr 2014I've watched the electro-hydraulic roof panel open and close about 73 times in the past hour, but its fascinatingly complicated operation still has me mesmerized. I've concluded that only a German automaker - Porsche, to be more specific - would go through the trouble of engineering a roof system that essentially lifts the entire greenhouse off a vehicle, rearranges its components like a sliding-tile puzzle, and then reassembles all of them seamlessly (sans roof panel) to accurately recreate one of its most famed bodystyles.
The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa is a near-perfect modern interpretation of the automaker's 1965 911 Targa, a semi-convertible bodystyle that represents nearly 13 percent of all 911 models sold since production started 50 years ago. While the early car's roof was purely manual in operation - that's the period-correct way of saying that the driver did all of the muscle work - today's Targa is a completely automated transformation that requires only that the driver hold down a cabin-mounted switch for a mere 19 seconds to let the captivating show run its course.
After studying the Targa's elaborate roof operation at its launch at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, I was sufficiently intrigued. To that end, I traveled one-third of the way around the planet to southern Italy, hoping that the Mediterranean climate would reveal a bit more about the reintroduction of the automaker's iconic sports car.
2015 Porsche 918 Spyder: Touring the factory
Wed, Dec 3 2014Willy Wonka granted just five lucky Golden Ticket holders access to his incredible chocolate factory, yet we consider ourselves just as fortunate, as Porsche invited us to be among the first of just four American journalists to see behind the closed doors of its 918 Spyder assembly plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany. Of course, there were no Oompa Loompas or flowing chocolate rivers, but the vast white hall tasked with producing only 918 examples of the automaker's limited-production flagship revealed details that make Wonka's Golden Egg sorting room seem rather mundane in comparison. Unlike a traditional automobile manufacturing plant, which often encompass all processes of making a vehicle (e.g., stamping steel panels, welding components and painting), the 918 Spyder is built in an assembly plant. This means that hundreds of already manufactured parts, each crafted by Porsche offsite suppliers, are brought under one roof to be assembled into a perfectly finished product that is much sweeter – and far more expensive – than any candy delicacy. Our tour guide was Michael Drolshagen, Porsche's Director of Production, Logistics and Quality - a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the engineering and assembly of the 918 Spyder. Drolshagen generously offered us unrestricted access to walk among the factory's 110 workers – and a couple-dozen vehicles in process – to photograph everything. This is a story best told with pictures, so we've put together a raft of our best images in a high-resolution gallery and captioned each with a detailed description. If you've still got questions, please voice them in Comments section and we'll do our best to answer.
Porsche reveals new LMP1 racecar testing ahead of 2014 Le Mans debut
Wed, 12 Jun 2013Getting ready for its triumphant return to the premier racing class of Le Mans, Porsche has released a handful of images showing its new LMP1 racecar testing. Porsche hasn't run a car in the Prototype class at 24 Hours of Le Mans since 2009, but this racecar - still veiled in secrecy - will be expected to battle against the Audi and Toyota LMP1 Prototypes to help bring Porsche its 17th Le Mans victory.
Aside from knowing that it will use a hybrid powertrain to meet LMP1 rules, there are no other details about the car... including its name or potential sponsors. In the meantime, Porsche has set up a microsite, called Mission 2014, to share its extensive history racing at Le Mans. Also, be sure to check out some of the past videos Porsche has released as it gears up for its reborn LMP1 program.
