This is a 1987 Porsche 944 in excellent condition. The car has only 60577 original actual miles. The engine runs perfect, it has a deep throaty sound with no valve or lifter noise. The five speed transmission and clutch are working great. The timing belt has been professionally replaced. There are no oil leaks as evidenced by no drips on my garage floor. The engine does not burn any oil. The engine starts up immediately every time without need for stepping on the gas. The idle is steady and very smooth. All the electrical items are working great. The heat is very hot and the AC is very cold. The only issue is the vacuum operated valve that switches from heat to cold doesn't work reliably so I installed a manual over-ride by pulling on the lever with a string. This works fine until it is fixed.
I ran a Carfax which I can send to anyone on request. The Carfax is clean with good title, no accidents or damage. The body is perfectly straight with the exception of a small ding on the drivers door which doesn't show up on pictures and is only visible at the right angle. There is no rust anywhere. The car needs to be repainted to be in showroom condition. The front left fender appears to have been over-buffed through some of the paint to the primer in one spot. Some of the car seems to have been repainted at some point since different panels seem to have faded slightly differently rate and to a slightly different hue than others. All the panels appear to me to be original by my inspection. Despite these minor imperfections, the car looks good and is solid for driving or repainting to showroom condition.

Porsche working on turbo V12 for Putin limo project?
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Porsche is best known for building very well-regarded sports cars and better-selling utility vehicles. Come to the company with a big enough bag of cash, though, and the Porsche Engineering division can create just about anything. The group's past projects include working with Harley-Davidson, Mercedes-Benz and corporate cousin Audi, but if rumors prove true, then its latest partner might be the last one you'd expect.
Russian website Wroom reports that Porsche Engineering is building the engine for the Project Cortege government limousine project for Russian president Vladimir Putin. The mill is supposedly a turbocharged V12 displacing between 6.0- and 6.6-liters and making around 800 horsepower. When complete, it will reportedly be built by ZMZ with Russian-sourced parts.
The limo is expected to debut in 2017, according to Wroom, but it's just the beginning of Putin's grandiose plans, which also goes by the name of the Motorcade Project. The same platform is also meant to underpin several vehicles for use by the government, including an SUV, a small bus and a sedan. All of them would reportedly have a longitudinally mounted engine and all-wheel drive.
Why you must buy an air-cooled Porsche 911 now
Fri, 14 Feb 2014"Because" might be a good response to our headline, but as a vintage (purists might call 'proper') Porsche 911 is hardly cheap, we suspect you'll need a better explanation than that. Enter Drive editor Mike Spinelli.
Spinelli sits down with Zac Moseley and Mick Prichinello from Classic Car Club Manhattan to first explain why the market for old, air-cooled 911s has gotten so hot over the past few years, and to discuss if it's a bubble that's about to burst. Following that, this video is really is just three guys sitting around talking about old Porsches for 35 minutes. Which, you know, we're pretty onboard with.

Porsche's 959 is still poster-worthy after all these years
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Today, we have the Porsche 918 Spyder. Before that, there was the Carrera GT. While both of those cars are dramatic departures from the traditional, rear-engine Porsche formula, they owe their very existence to another wild child of the iconic German brand - the 959.
Like so many of the great performance cars of yesteryear, the 959 was a homologation special, built just so Porsche could go racing in the clinically insane Group B rally series. Fewer than 400 959s hit the streets, but those that did were some of the most advanced cars of the 1980s. A rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged flat-six sent its power through a still-rare all-wheel-drive system, creating a race-inspired rocket that was, for a short time, the fastest production car on the planet.
Xcar has the story of the 959, from its inception to its conquest of the Paris-Dakar rally, which is interspersed with a drive of the legendary coupe. Scroll down for the full video.
