Up for auction is my 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo. Graphite Metallic with Tan leather interior. 41,753 original miles. This car is in excellent condition inside and out. 9/10 for both interior and exterior. Original paint, with a few chips touched up. Never any accidents. I've owned this car for almost two and a half years and am the 3rd owner.

No dash cracks. Only one small wear mark on the drivers side seat bolster. Carpet, door panels, rear seats all in excellent condition

All power options work. A/C has been upgraded and blows ice cold. heat and rear defroster work

This car is rare for 2 reasons. The first being the color. Graphite Metallic was only offered in the US 1986 for the turbo and this car has the sunroof delete option, so there is no sunroof.

In 2011 I had the following work done to the car:

Lindsey Racing 3.0 liter engine with Wossner pistons and Pauter Rods. Block and crank were from a 1989 944 S2. The crank has been cross drilled. Engine professionally balanced, blueprinted and assembled by Lindsey Racing and shipped to my mechanic in Atlanta for install and tuning.

Lindsey Racing stage 2 cylinder head work done to the original 8 valve head. Work included porting and polished with 5 angle valve job

Lindsey Racing dual port wastegate

Fabspeed full 3 inch exhaust including downpipe and test pipe. No catalyst converter on this car but fabspeed does sell a bolt in converter for those with emissions requirements

Rogue M-Tune MAF kit with 80# injectors and 2 maps, 1 for pump fuel and the other for race fuel with a toggle switch below the radio

Webcam racing camshaft #274

Lindsey Racing adjustable Cam gear

Bosch High volume fuel pump with 3 bar fuel pressure regulator and new fuel filter (Also included is a new in box Bosch 044 racing fuel pump)

Forged Racing blow off valve

Lindsey racing intercooler hard pipes (powder coated to match intake and cam cover)

Lindsey racing stage 2 intercooler

Spec Stage 3 hybrid clutch with Kennedy pressure plate and lightened flywheel

Lindsey Super 65 series oil cooled turbocharger with #8 hotside (hotside has been extrudehoned to reduce backpressure)

Oil cooler sonic cleaned with new oil cooler lines (No leaks)

New coolant expansion tank

Intake manifold has been extrudehoned to match flow of cylinder head and powder coated to match cam cover and intercooler pipes

Zeitronix Digital Air/Fuel kit with gauge mounted below stereo

Apexi AVC-R electronic boost controller stored in glove box

New fully adjustable Koni shocks all the way around

New battery

All tools, manuals, spare tire, jack and air compressor included as well as a 3 inch binder with all receipts.

ROH Drift R Wheels in perfect condition 18x8 in front, 18x10 in rear with Toyo Proxes T1R tires. 235-40-18 front, 275-35-18 rear. Tires have less than 3,000 miles on them

This car has the following factory options:

Limited Slip differential

Heated sport seats with power adjust

Leather front seats

rear wiper

body side protective molding

This car is extremely powerful with over 410 rear wheel horsepower at 17psi on pump fuel.

This car doesn't leak or burn a drop of oil.

All work completed in late September 2011 with a total cost of over $28,000.

I'd be happy to show the car to anyone who is local or willing to travel to see it.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS revealed in patent photos

Fri, 01 Aug 2014

Porsche has been taking its time developing the most hardcore 911 models for the latest 991 chassis. While the GT3 has been on the market for a little while, it suffered from some teething issues. The 911 GT3 RS is certainly on the radar since being spotted testing, but it's always better to get a look at a new car without all of the camo to hide the coolest parts. Thankfully, Car in the UK has some patent photos of the RS ahead of its debut, and they show off one mean-looking 911.
The first thing that you notice about the RS is that Porsche clearly isn't afraid to rework the latest 911's shape for its track-focused version. Each piece is slightly resculpted to squeeze the most out of it. Up front, the air dam has the same shape to the earlier photos. They also both highlight the upcoming model's tiny air inlet at the tip of the hood, the massive intakes in the rear fenders and general design of the rear wing with a ducktail underneath. The bubbled roof is much clearer here, where it was disguised in spy shots. You can also spot the slashing fender gills behind the front wheels that are a completely new feature.
The GT3 RS is the ultimate naturally aspirated 911 for the street, but according to Car, Porsche aims to take that even farther with the latest model. If these are the looks, then it's working. Unfortunately, the new version's powerplant remains a mystery. Though, given all the changes to the bodywork, the engine is almost surely getting tweaked over the 475-horsepower GT3. The RS is rumored to hit the road and be screaming down the track in 2015.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection

Fri, Dec 29 2023

Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage.  One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.

Watch Porsche's 918 Spyder break a sweat while hot weather testing

Wed, 19 Jun 2013

With five months left until the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder enters production, Porsche engineers are still putting the hybrid sports coupe through a battery of last-minute tests. To give us new reasons to ogle over the car - as if we needed any more - Porsche has released a short video showing the 918 Spyder undergoing shakedown tests in the hot Nevada desert. And you can't drive through Nevada without visiting Vegas, too, right?
Although there's really nothing new to see in this video, it's still fun to watch as Porsche approaches one million test miles logged on this exciting new high-performance model. One interesting part (at around the 0:37 mark) shows the car taking off under electric power and then transitioning to engine power, which results in a mix of whirs and growls as the 918 Spyder switches from a 127-horsepower electric vehicle to an 887-hp hybrid supercar. Scroll down to watch - and hear - Porsche's latest creation in motion.
