1986 Porsche 944 Turbo on 2040-cars
Glenside, Pennsylvania, United States
I'm selling a very nice 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo that runs very strong and has only 64k miles on the odometer. I kind of inherited this vehicle through a friend......The interior is a 7 out of 10, the driver seat has a couple splits in it, all the rest of the interior is there and in tack, the sunroof doesn't open and the tops of the door panels are stretched, the ac compressor doesn't come on but could just be Freon, the blower works fine, all lights and signals work fine, the radio works fine but the volume button is a little flakey.....The car has new clutch, iridium plugs, synthetic oil change, new Khomo tires, staggered, 255/40/17 rear and 205/50/17 front, from what I'm told on Porsche Boxer rims, 4 piston calipers and crossed drilled rotors all around. The car sits low, however does not rub at all, even while making a U turn, the car doesn't bottom out or scrape. I have a steep driveway and surprisingly the car doesn't hit going in or out. I currently have the car registered, tagged, insured under antique insurance which cost only $113 for full coverage for the year, $15k coverage. The car drives and handles excellent and when the turbo kicks in, it's an unbelievable thrill..... Highway driving is the best although she gets down in the city also.......There is a LOW RESERVE on this car compared to others like it......Please as usual, serious buyers only. Happy bidding and God bless! if you have any questions, please feel free to text me @ two one five - six six eight - 7496.....Thanks. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required within 24 hours of end of auction and the remaining balance by bank wire within 7 days of the end of auction. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however, I'll be happy to help with referrals and arrangements.

Porsche planning more plug-ins
Mon, Jan 5 2015Which automaker offers the most plug-in models in the industry? The answer may surprise you, because it's not Toyota, it's not Renault or Nissan or any other automaker that might spring to mind. The answer is Porsche, which already offers the Cayenne and Panamera in plug-in hybrid spec in addition to the 918 Spyder. And it could offer more in the near future. Speaking with Automotive News, Porsche's global sales and marketing chief Bernhard Maier spoke of the importance of plug-in range-extended models to the company's future plans. The 55-year-old executive, who endeavors to make his 56-mile round-trip daily commute from home to the company's headquarters in Stuttgart entirely emissions free, indicated that his company only plans to offer more plug-in models. Previous reports indicated that E-Hybrid powertrain in the Cayenne and Panamera wouldn't fit in the Macan, and that no such plans were in store for the Boxster, Cayman or 911. But when asked what Porsche had in store for the future, Maier replied: "We have a lot of ideas, but we have not approved them for production yet. The 918 Spyder shows that Porsche has the capability to produce very convincing hybrid sports cars." While clearly guarded, Maier's answer points to a future of more plug-in hybrid models from the storied German marque. All that remains to be seen is whether that will come in the form of a Boxster, Cayman, Macan or another new model altogether, like the rumored mini-Panamera dubbed Pajun or a mid-engined V8 supercar.
2014 Porsche Cayman S
Tue, 19 Feb 2013A Blue-Blooded Valentine
I need you to understand what it's like to drive this car. I'm not talking about your ability to comprehend the words on this page or process the figures that surround the 2014 Porsche Cayman S, but rather what it feels like to take control of a car conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured to set your prefrontal cortex alight with all the glee a Zippo typically reserves for pine needles marinated in jet fuel. From the instant you put your tail in the driver's seat, the Cayman sets about impregnating your veins with a full and varied spectrum of ludicrous emotion. It's not like taking the family pickup to market, I can tell you that much.
For 2014, the next-generation Cayman features many of the same styling tweaks first displayed on the coupe's drop-top cousin, the Boxster, though a spate of mechanical changes, more power, less weight and better efficiency join the party to further differentiate this model from its predecessor. And while additions like rev-matched downshifts and electronic power steering help push the Cayman into a new era, one fact remains unchanged: This is one of the best driving cars on the market. Period. Bear with me and I'll try to explain exactly why that is.
Porsche Macan spied, all lit up and dodging flurries
Thu, 17 Jan 2013We've seen the upcoming Porsche Macan testing on surface roads and even on the Nürburgring, but here we have our first spy shots showing a disguised prototype doing some winter testing in snowy conditions. Still obscured by plenty of camouflage attempting to mimic its larger Cayenne sibling, we still can't get a clear look at what the Macan's face and rump are going to look like, although it does appear that some details for the front lighting are starting to emerge.
Below the headlights, those are obviously decals trying to look like turn signal lenses, but it appears that there is still some sort of lighting being hidden judging by the small circles cut into the camo. Lower in the fascia, we can also see there are LED running lights not revealed on past prototypes. The entire rear end of this Macan prototype still appears to be tacked-on camo, but the side view appears to be in production form save for the poorly disguised rear quarter windows.
As we've seen in the past, Porsche engineers are still testing the Macan alongside the Audi Q5 with which it shares its platform. There has been no word as to when we could expect to see the Macan in production or concept form, but we'd have to guess that this compact crossover is getting ready to shed its camo very soon.
