1986 Porsche 944 Base Coupe 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Highland Park, Illinois, United States
Hello, Thanks for looking!
I am offering this car for no reserve. We purchased the car for a parts car, or a N/A race car. We decided that cars condition was to nice, and did not use the car for parts. The car is sitting on 15inch Fuchs, which alone are worth over $600.00. Car would be a great race car project, or a parts car if you needed it to be. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I need the car gone for a 951 project. The car would have to be trailed away. I can assist in helping get the car on trailer. - The car needs a clutch - The car needs motor mounts -Gauge cluster does not work ( I have a new replacement I will give with the Vehicle ) The Car will start up and run smooth, and hold a idle. The Car will engage and move, but does not put any power down due to clutch slippage. Additional photos and videos of the car running. Note: I have been asked if the white marks all over the front are paint chips. They are not paints chips, its drops of tree sap. They can be removed. With a good buff, the car would show very well. Once again, thanks for looking. Please feel free to ask any more questions. |

Porsche 911: Big in Taiwan
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Porsche is continuing celebrations for the fiftieth anniversary of its iconic 911. In its latest video, it's gone to Taiwan, to interview some of the folks that have grown passionate about the rear-engined sportscar over the years.
By and large, the views expressed in this video could have come from anywhere in the world. The 911 is a great car and that doesn't change from country to country. These enthusiasts have the same passion that fans in England, the United States or Germany have for the Carrera. Take a look below at the full video, to see what the 911 enthusiasts of Taiwan love about their 911s.
Porsche's Mauer recalls the history of the 918 Spyder, hints about next-gen 911
Wed, 26 Feb 2014The night before Porsche handed me the keys to its 2015 Macan to drive on both road and track, the company threw together a great dinner for the assembled media in Leipzig. Hosted in Porsche's spaceship-shaped customer delivery center in the eastern German town, I'll admit that I spent the bulk of my night grabbing hors d'oeuvres from passing waiters (they do a nice tuna sashimi), milling around a collection of historic and interesting vehicles on the top floor and gulping down Warsteiner.
In an era of mega car companies, the story of how the 918 came to be was really refreshing.
Before the evening was over, however, Porsche design chief Michael Mauer stopped by my table to exchange pleasantries and thank us all for coming out to drive the Macan. My fellow diners and I passed a pleasant half-hour or more picking the brain of the forthcoming Mauer, and somehow or another, the topic turned to Porsche's newest supercar, the 918 Spyder. In an era of mega car companies (the Volkswagen Group included) and massive development teams, the story of how the 918 came to be is really refreshing.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS facing delay over GT3 fire problems?
Mon, 24 Mar 2014Porsche has never been afraid to introduce variants of its cars. However, its even higher spec, next-generation 911 GT3 RS may be delayed from its planned launch this summer while the engines in the standard GT3s (pictured above) are replaced.
A delay isn't certain, but executives want to make sure the high-strung mill is no longer a problem before they press forward with another model using it. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport asked Porsche CEO Matthias Müller about pushing back the launch, and he responded that it was too early to say. The company's current focus is making sure the engines get fixed and working on internal measures to prevent this kind of flaw in the future.
When fires claimed two 911 GT3s in Europe, Porsche initially stopped the model's sales and asked owners to stop driving them. It finally diagnosed the blazes as being caused by a loose screw on a connecting rod, which then resulted in crankcase damage and an oil leak. The company is replacing the engines on all 785 affected cars. A source told Autoblog that under 200 customers were actually affected, and the other cars were either at port or dealer lots. Hopefully, the recall doesn't postpone the road-going GT3 RS too far because we want to see what Porsche has up its sleeve.
