1985.5 Porsche 944 base model, non turbo, paired with a NICE set of Fuchs 951 / 911 wheels.  I have owned this car for almost one decade and drove this car all around until it got bumped in the back.  Car was no garage queen.  This car has always gotten from point A to point B and everywhere else I've needed to stop in between.  Unfortunately I need to sell this car due to job relocation.

This car starts and runs but will need a battery. The one in it is not mine.

The odometer reads 178,658 miles, however; Porsche odometers are known to not always be reliable.  This one was intermittent.  Exterior color is grey.  The paint shows her age as it is faded and worn off the front.  Black leather interior. There is all the normal wear of 30 year old car.

Engine starts and runs well.  Transaxle is good and it shifts smooth and tight, clutch is good, exhaust good. Front end and ball joints in good condition as well.  The power windows work well, as do adjustable side mirrors.  New speakers installed, sound system replaced with AM/FM radio & CD player.  They work well, loud.  Faceplate for system is in center console along with a remote control.  Door locks work but passenger side key does not.   AC no longer works, heat does.
Fuchs wheels are straight and true, without curb rash, chips, or dents; as shown in photos.  Front wheels are 7" wide, rear are 8" wide.  Tires are great with most --if not all tread still there.  Headlights occasionally stick up in the on position, shown in photos.  The sunroof gear may be going.  I last used it a few years back and had some trouble closing it so I didn't bother to use it again and risk the too common Porsche sunroof leak.

A few years ago I found myself parked alongside other 944s and took note that my car sat significantly lower than all of the others.  Other drivers suggested it could be a European model, however, I have no idea.  It was only guessed by the other drivers.  I have yet to figure out why it does.

Please feel free to contact with any questions or if you like to see the car.

Porsche's former CEO Wiedeking to stand trial over VW-share manipulation

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

Former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (left in the above photo) could potentially be facing some time in the slammer after all. The last we had heard, he and former Chief Financial Officer Holger Haerter (right) had avoided a trial in April due to a lack of evidence. However, an appeals court in Stuttgart has looked at the case again and overruled the earlier decision, finding that the executives should be tried for share manipulation during Porsche's failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008, Bloomberg reports.
The judges in the appeal "list numerous indications that could suggest that there was a hidden decision to increase the stake as they could suggest the opposite evaluation by the lower court," said Stefan Schueler, a spokesperson for the court, in a statement cited by Bloomberg. Wiedeking and Haerter put out their own releases saying that there was no merit to the charges.
The prosecutors allege that Wiedeking and Haerter had a plan to buy up VW stock options in 2008 to take the automotive giant over but hid it from investors. The whole thing was a massive failure and eventually allowed VW the chance to acquire Porsche and forced the two execs to step down. In addition to the criminal investigation, hedge funds have attempted to sue the company multiple times in civil court for the same reason, but they have repeatedly failed.

Porsche offers detuned Boxster and Cayman 211 in Europe

Mon, 15 Sep 2014

Looking at a new Porsche Boxster? First of all, we commend you on your choice, because in its latest iteration, the Boxster has sped out from under the shadow of the 911 and into its own. But now to choose: do you get the base model with 265 horsepower, the Boxster S with 315 hp, or the top-of-the-line Boxster GTS with 330 hp? It's a daunting question, considering the $10k+ price gap between each model that you could put into the gas-and-rubber jar. Same goes for the Cayman, albeit with ten more horses across the board. But as if that's not confusing enough, there appears to be another player on the field. (That is, at least, in certain European markets.)
Appearing on the company's Belgian and Norwegian sites are the Boxster 211 and Cayman 211. As you might have guessed, they pack a less substantial 211 horsepower, undercutting what we know as the base models. Instead of using a smaller engine, though, the Boxster and Cayman 211 get the same 2.7-liter boxer six, just with less power.
As a result, they're a bit slower off the line: the Boxster 211 takes between 6.1 and 6.4 seconds to get to 62, depending on exact specifications, compared to the 5.5- to 5.8-second range for the 265-hp Boxster, while the Cayman 211 is quoted at 6.2 seconds versus the 275-hp Cayman's 5.4 to 5.7 seconds. Fuel consumption and emissions, on the other hand (and as you'd expect), are better in the 211. But while Porsche Norway charges around $10k less for the 211 models, Porsche Belgium charges the same for the 211 models as it does for the next most powerful versions (from which they appear to be visually indistinguishable).

Porsche to replace chassis components in 918 Spyders

Tue, Dec 23 2014

The entire production run of the Porsche 918 Spyder is completely sold out, but 205 of them need to make a trip to the dealer for a repair estimated to take about two days. According to Porsche, it found quality problems with unspecified "chassis components" on the hybrid supercar and has instituted a plan to fix them as a precautionary measure. There were no reported breakages of these parts or complaints from customers. The German automaker already contacted all of the affected owners directly to have the 918s repaired in 2015. When reached for comment, Porsche Director of Corporate Communications Achim Schneider told Autoblog via email that "due to the supplier relationship we did not announce further details regarding the components so far." He also said that 43 vehicles are affected in North America, which includes the US and Canada. The 918 Spyder was affected by a small recall in the US earlier this year when Porsche found that the rear-axle control arms could potentially break. The campaign covered only five cars, though. Porsche replaces chassis components in 205 vehicles worldwide Atlanta. As a precautionary measure, Porsche will replace chassis components in 205 vehicles of the 918 Spyder model worldwide. The reason for this is that for vehicles that were manufactured in a certain time period defective parts were used from a delivery batch, whose functionality cannot be permanently guaranteed. No complaints have been made known (such as a break of a component) from customers up till now. The problem was identified during in-house quality inspections and remedied immediately. The owners of the vehicles, which could be exactly traced, were contacted directly by their competent Porsche representatives. The workshop visit, which will take place by appointment at the onset of 2015, takes about two days to complete at no charge.
