1984 Porsche 944 V8 Conversion, Resto-mod...340hp...beautiful!!! on 2040-cars

US $35,000.00
Year:1984 Mileage:20
Location:

Michigan City, Indiana, United States

Michigan City, Indiana, United States

 Offered is a 1984 Porsche 944 V8 conversion Resto-mod.
This car was stripped down to the chassis and restored. It started life as a charcoal grey car.
The front and rear bumpers have been shaved.
Every piece of this car has been either painted or polished.
The engine is a GM 5.3l with an ls6 intake, throttle body, injectors, and custom headers. 3" exhaust to a magnaflow muffler. Generating approx. 340hp and 290 tq at the flywheel. Originally these cars had 150hp.
The brakes had been upgraded along with the engine to four piston calipers on all four corners.
The list of new parts is to long to list, this car is basically new. It has only been test driven. ( The rear hatch glass is the only part of the car that does show its age, but is still in very respectable condition)

The balance of the car does not change much with the addition of the V8. Approx. 70lbs. The conversion is actually lighter than the turbo model of the car. The swap is popular because these LS series engines are bullet proof compared to the Porsche engines and less expensive to maintain.
The car has manual steering and brakes. The feel is light and nimble.
This is a "drivers" car, the HVAC system has been deleted. The HVAC controls in the center stack have been removed to accommodate a 7" touch screen.

If you have any question on the performance of these cars please search youtube for 944 conversion videos. These cars are very impressive.
I can say this is one occasion that the pictures do not do the car justice, it is gorgeous.

Is this the fastest '84 944 in existence? Quite possible.
Is this the cleanest '84 944 in existence? Almost guaranteed!
Is this the cleanest '84 Porsche 944 V8 conversion in existence? Certainly.

Porsche's baby Panamera delayed until 2019 or later

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

If you're enticed by the idea of a Porsche sedan but find the Panamera to be too big, your hopes may have been raised by the development of the so-called Pajun. But don't get those hopes up too much, because the latest word coming in from the Old World has it that the Panamera Junior has been delayed.
The Pajun was (and theoretically still is, despite tardiness) a project to apply to the Panamera the same winning formula that Porsche used to transmute the Cayenne into the smaller Macan. Its size would be closer to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class than the larger Panamera, and employ an array of six-cylinder engines.
The smaller five-door was set to be the cornerstone of Porsche Product Strategy 2018, a plan that included several new models to be launched within the next four years. However, reports now indicate that the Volkswagen Group is counting on Porsche to help bolster its profits and is not keen on investing in new products at this time, pushing the Pajun and other projects back until 2019 at the earliest. Although much of the strategy remains undisclosed, it is believed to include (or have included) a sub-Boxster sports car and a supercar to slot in between the 911 and the 918 Spyder. There was also talk of a shooting brake version of the Panamera based on the Sport Turismo concept pictured above. What will become of those projects, however, remains to be seen.

2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.
