Very low miles of 43,662. I have all records since new which included cam and timing chain update. Car was repainted some years ago, and is peeling in spots. No rust damage but has surface spots in some areas. Left quarter panel has a small dent as does the right door skin. Interior is original but does show it's age and wear. PS,PB,PW, upgraded CD player and speakers. This car has spent most of its life parked, as mileage shows. Very good example of a stock, original 944. A little TLC and this would make a very fine car. Runs and drives. I have set a buy it now price at $2800. Free pickup at our East Peoria, Il location. Cash or PayPal only."

1984 Porsche 944 Coupe. 2 owner car with all maintence records since new. Very low original miles of 43,662. Vehicle has had cam and timing chain service upgrades, along with other standard maintainance. Car was repainted some years, and is peeling in spots. No rust or rot but does have a few small spots of some surface blisters. Weatherstrips are good but are starting to get hard. Car starts , runs and drives. Steering and suspention very tight with no issues. Has been sitting several years which is hard on any vehicle.A little TLC and this would be an excellant driver. Left quarter panel has a dent as does the Rt door skin. Most the sheet metal is in great condition, and car would be an easy repaint. Original black metallic paint and 2 tone brown interior. Seats show wear, as does the carpeting and mats. Dash panel has minor cracking as most Porsches of this age have. New tires are 4 years old and have 200 miles on them. Clean Illinois title is included with all prior work receipts and related paperwork. A buy it now price of $2800 is very fair and is alot less than I paid for it. I have just too many cars and projects to get them all done in my lifetime, so a few must go. This would be a great car to restore, or to drive with little done, or race or spec car starter. I just don't want to part it out when it is so complete of an original example of a stock Porsche. Some body please save me! Cash or PayPal only. Free pick up at our East Peoria, Il location. I will load car on your transport truck or trailer for free. Happy bidding!!!

Porsche Cayman GT4 speeds back into view

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

We're all familiar with the succession of numbers that follow the letters GT on a hard-core Porsche 911: the GT1 that was Stuttgart's Le Mans contender in the late 90s, the GT2 that packs turbochargers but without the Turbo's all-wheel drive and excess weight, and the naturally aspirated GT3 that's the enthusiast's choice. But a GT4? That's something new, and exactly what Porsche has in store.
Spied testing in Germany once again is the upcoming GT4 version of the Porsche Cayman, set to supersede the existing GTS and take the place of the previous Cayman R at the top of Porsche's junior sports car range. This latest batch of spy shots doesn't show us much more than the last crop, but gives us a much clearer view at what promises to be the most hardcore Cayman to date.
As you can see, the Cayman GT4 packs a much more aggressive aero kit and rolling stock than any version we've seen to date. It's got a lip spoiler, big air dam and GT3-style vent in front of the hood, deep air scoops along the flanks, a set of spindly alloys packing oversized brakes, a diffuser with twin central exhaust tips around back and a rear wing that's likely to be replaced with a sleeker unit before the GT4 reaches production.

Porsche 911 and Citro"en DS lovechild would look like this

Wed, 06 Nov 2013

The early Porsche 911 and the Citroën DS were two cars produced in the same era (though the DS launched in 1955, nearly 10 years before the 911), but they were vastly different from each other. The 911 was a uniquely German, pure-bred sports car, while the French-built DS had four doors and focused more on ride quality than sporting intentions. That made it all the more surprising when we came across the 911DS, a creation that binds the rear half of the Citroën to the front of an early, longhood 911.
The folks at Brandpowder are behind the creation, which we surmise was an exercise in design rather than an actual, completed project (some of the images look Photoshopped), but it's compelling nonetheless, with a turbocharged flat-six providing 260 horsepower. We hope someone builds it - though we're sure if that happened the early 911 crowd would cry afoul at one of its increasingly rare and valuable Porsches being grafted onto an old French car.
But as Brandpowder points out lightheartedly, perhaps the creation could transcend popular car culture: "The 911DS represents the effort of two countries, a genuine attempt to join their energy and talent into one thing. We hope Germany and France will be inspired by Brandpowder's story, as a metaphor for a better and greater Europe."

Porsche digitally dissects its 918 Spyder for your viewing pleasure

Wed, 02 Oct 2013

At this point, you'd think we'd know all there is to know about the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder - except what it's like to drive - but Porsche has released a new video giving us a more in-depth look at its new plug-in hypercar all the same. The animated video gives us numerous cutaway looks at the 918 Spyder while giving a visual demonstration of the car's four hybrid driving modes.
Though nowhere near as exciting as watching the 918 blast around the Nürburgring in record time, this new video is nonetheless both interesting and informative. Scroll down to watch the video yourself, and be sure to check out our live gallery of the production version of the car along with a stock gallery.
