FOR SALE : 1984 PORSCHE 944

What can I say , I purchased this for my daughter who just graduated ( mom had one back when as well ) . I found what I thought was a good 944 here on e-bay and the story goes hat the young man purchased it from his next door neighbor who had an accident although it doesn't show on the report  and the car just sat under a carport in Sunvalley Ca . He started the repair/ rebuild project ,eventually after a lot of time and $, he got it up and going and drove it around for about 9 months and found a 1987 944S that he decided to turn his attention to . Sunvalley is hot and dry and with the a.c. not working , the speedo not working , and needing tires . I purchased the car and drove it to San Diego where I was living at the time and decided to have the guys at San Diego Performance Porsche pick up where it was left off and had the speedo fixed , had the entire A.C. rebuilt including a new fan among other things  , the list is extensive including timing belt , valves , sensors , wheel bearings , swing-arm , ect.... and after $2 ,000 plus , the car purrs , starts right-up , very responsive , everything works ! The head-lights , windows , and sunroof all work perfect ! Doesn't burn any oil !  Car scored amazingly on the compression test so the mileage is very low , close to 84k actual miles , which is a score . K&N air filter and a newish Cat-back exhaust system , sound great !
Also , I just had the leather seats recovered in LEATHER !!!! So the interior is looking sweet , front carpeting in good shape , rear is not so good and I do have a rubber weather-tech rear mat included .
I had the absolute mind boggling response from my daughter who refuses to even go for a drive in it !!!!
I am paying student loans and now also trying to finance a new car for my daughter .
The car can be transferred here in California without having to get it resmogged until end of Oct . then doesn't have to get smogged again for 2 years ! score !
The photo is shown with Boxster wheels that are NOT included ( I will sell them separately ) 15" cookie cutters w/ new tires ! Less than 1,000 miles on them !

Feel free to contact me with any questions . 707 923-2038 ( rudy )
I set the RESERVE at $3,500 , I have $7,500 into it .

I am open for options , I'm just a little worn-out from this beating !
I can deliver the car , it's super fun to drive and everyone loves it , except my daughter .
I am listing this with a low reserve considering . I have a 100% e-bay rating so you can count on me being straight-up / no nonsense .

DP Motorsport tries to turn a vintage Porsche 911 into a sleeper

Tue, 20 Aug 2013

Once you get past the fact that it's hard to call a car a sleeper when it has race-product stickers on its quarter panel, and the script across the back panel reads "Porsche 911 3.2 Sleeper," it's fun to imagine what this car can do. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911, Germany's DP Motorsport took a model from 1986, stripped it of everything - including the paint and undercoating - then replaced everything with lightweight and race-ready parts.
In went race cams and ported cylinder heads, a lightweight flywheel, an RSR titanium racing exhaust, 935-style lollipop seats and RSR carpeting, a lightweight battery, perforated and galvanized hinges and brackets, hardened perspex windows. The 3.2-liter engine puts out 270 horsepower - 70 hp above the stock 911 on sale here in 1986 - and 226 pound-feet of torque through a limited slip differential to staggered wheels. The exterior color is metallic rock-green lacquer.
If you want one, $120,00 is where the part starts, but DP Motorsport says it offers the parts individually if you don't need your vintage Porsche to sleep this hard. On a side note, for a chucklesome journey back in time, check out this review of the 1986 911 that gets things going with this line: "First off, the Porsche 911 is very expensive - how does about 40 thou grab you?" Back on topic, there's a press release below that tells the rest of the story of the 3.2 Sleeper.
