Engine and All Mechanical
Hello and welcome! My name is Mike and Im selling my beloved 1983 Guards Red Porsche 944. I have owned this car for a little over 3 years now and have done pretty solid restoration on it. I first purchased the vehicle with a blown head gasket and it had a few oil leaks. I have a shop so i decided to pull the motor out of the car and do a full rebuild. The rebuild included all of the following and MORE but i may forget a thing or two. Full top end head gasket kit (comes with tons of new seals for a top end rebuild), Full bottom end oil pan kit(same thing comes with many seals to rebuild lower block).87+ oil pan and baffle, Oil cooler kit. Main bearings, rod bearings and nuts, piston rings. I also had the transmission replaced with a low milage one because the other transmission had a bad pinion ring. The CV Axles where rebuilt also at the time or transmission swap. The fuel filter was replaced and the fuel pump as well. All new fuel injectors and a FULL tune up. Ignition Coil, Magnacore Wires, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor and air filter all replaced. New Fuel pressure regulator and fuel pressure dampener. Updated 87+ exhaust headers. New Motor mounts, New DME temp sensor and coolant temp sensor, New radiator and hoses.New Starter Silicon Vacuum line Kit so all vac line are new. Front and Rear Koni Yellows and the front have coil overs on the by ground control. The front and rear rotors are slotted and have good brake pads. Timing Belt and Water pump and all dollars and tensioners have been replaced within 5k miles. Lasso Pump and Gates belts with Porsche rollers and tensioners. The clutch is SACH brand and has about 40k miles on it. Shifts
smooth and is in great operating condition. Also has new Master and Slave cylinders. Red throttle response Cam.
The exhaust is stock but i did have a Vband installed so i can make it a straight pipe within 20 minutes. Currently it has the Cat on the car and yes it passes smog beautifully! Will come with a REAL Stainless steel 2.25 inch pipe with Vbands already welded so its like a straight forward swap. Front wheel bearings are new and the Manuel Steering Rack has been rebuilt new inner and outer tie rods and boots. Welmister Bushings on the Control arms and new Porsche bushings on sway bars. The car comes with the FULL ROUGE TUNING KIT. Look it up if you don't know what that is. It will come with an original and functional ECU and AFM. The car is set up for California heat so i have the 71*C thermostat and sensors in the car so it runs cool. I upgraded the radiator fans to the later style 6 bladed because its much more quite than the 3 bladed. Also has new hood liner in black. The oil is 20w 50 Valvaline R! Racing oil with High Zinc and it has a porsche filter on it. There is more but I'm forgetting it. All of this has been done in over the corse of 3 years. Ive driving this car to Oregon and Washington with NO ISSUES, I've also driven it to L.A  in summer and never had one issue. Its a great car for being 31 years old!

Interior and all Ascetics

The interior had good condition leather/cloth seats. I REPLACED them with seats from an 86 turbo, no rips and the leather is soft. The carpet is pretty black still and not crackled. The rear trunk carpet and the PORSCHE script door panels are from an 83 and ad a nice touch to the car. The rear top half of the seat i Took out but it has a PERFECTLY OPERATING cargo net! Ill install it prior to sale.  The headliner has been replaced and it has a Manuel sunroof. The rear hatch is from an 83 turbo and dose not rattle and closes like it should. The lights in the Dash have been replaced and they all work, even the center console. I have 2 steering wheels one is the MINT original 3 spoke and the one installed now is a MINT Momo prototipo with a NRG 2.5 gen Quick release hub. The Shifter boot is new and the bushings inside of it also. The exterior paint is an 8/10 THIS IS NOT A GARAGE QUEEN! I DRIVE THIS CAR Everyday! I love it! The paint has a few chips in the front and the occasional scratch but is very Verrrry presentable and again I'm picky so to some this may be a 9/10 for exterior. The car sits on Original 15x7 and 15x8 Staggered Fuch rims in a RSR style finish. It has Falken Sincera Tires with 90% tread life. There rated for 80k miles.I had the Camshaft tower Powdercoated and the intake manifold. I always get compliments and its a very presentable car.

Reason for selling and things to be looked at

The reason I'm selling my 944 is because i want a 1986 944 turbo in guards red with black leather and fuchs. I drove my friends turbo and fell in LOVE all over again. Im not selling it because its not running or its going to blow up. This is a very well maintained car! Some things that should be addressed by the new owner are that the A/C blows Kind of cold, so I'm assuming it will need a recharge BUT it uses R12. Ive put a thermostat on the vent and it'll get down to 77*F but in a 100* summers heat you'll be a little sweaty to be honest. The odometer is broken it needs a new gear (944online its 20$)The other issue which i have taken precautions for is the lower Balance shaft. I replaced the cover because the bearing was worn in there when i first bought the car and did not know at the time that they are block specific so you'll need to find a 83 cover and get it machined a few thousandths to have it fit properly. I have reinforced the pick up tube and i locktite all respected bolts and nuts. Ive NEVER had any issues with oil pressure and i know serval people online who also don't have a Balance shaft belt on there car and have never had issues, just replace the motor mounts every 60k miles like they should be and you'll be fine. If this is an issue for you then look for another 944. I have priced it according to this factor.

I have plenty of receipts that i will supply with the car and even have the original Manuel, Also i have tons of extra parts and tools that ill throw in, like the timing belt tools and fly wheel lock and extra spark plug wires and what not.  IF i get my asking price i will have the car Professionally detailed, buffed and waxed also and i will fill the tank for you. Car is being sold as is.

2015 Porsche 911 GTS starts at $114,200*

Wed, 08 Oct 2014

Purists often criticize Porsche for creating products like the Cayenne, Panamera and recently launched Macan, saying they dilute the true sports car spirit of the brand. It's an argument we've heard before, and one we counter with two points. First: No they don't. And second: These are Porsche's volume superstars, and the money they rake in allows the company to create dozens of versions of its well-liked sports cars. Want proof? Have a look at the gallery above, where you'll see four new versions of the 911, all with GTS badges on their rumps. This means Porsche now offers 19 versions of the 911. Nineteen.
Porsche offered a GTS version of the 911 in its previous generation, and this new one seeks to slot somewhere between the standard car and the hardcore GT3. It's available in coupe and cabriolet forms, with either rear- or all-wheel drive, starting at $114,200, *not including $995 for destination. The GTS Cabriolet comes in at $126,100, while models equipped with AWD will set you back $120,900 or $132,800 for the coupe or convertible, respectively.
All GTS models get the 430-horsepower version of the Carrera S' 3.8-liter flat-six with the Powerkit, which also includes the Sport Chrono package and the sport exhaust. If equipped with the PDK dual-clutch transmission, the 911 GTS will hit 60 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds (or four seconds flat, if you've got the Cabriolet) - one tenth of a second quicker than the normal Carrera S. The car's top speed varies, depending on trim or transmission, but Porsche says the car will hit anywhere from 187 to 190 mph, flat out.

Here are this year's top 5 automaker April Fools’ jokes

Mon, Apr 2 2018

April 1 is the wonderful day when PR departments really push themselves to top the zany jokes they came up with the previous year. And it's not just fast-food chains competing with each other, or breweries announcing they have released stuff like a fermented herring flavored beer: carmakers' media teams rarely miss out on the opportunity to play a little joke on their audience. Here are a few of our favorites from this year:1) Porsche Porsche announced that it's launching a Mission E tractor, styled to resemble its 1950s tractor models. "With a power output in excess of 700hp, the Mission E Tractor will be the fastest accelerating agricultural vehicle in the world, enabling farmers to harvest crops in record time with the added environmental benefits of zero emissions at source and significantly reduced operating noise."2) Lexus Lexus actually jumped the gun, telling us on March 28 that it's combining cars and drivers using DNA matching. The kicker was that with DNA-matched cars, owners would be able to start their Lexuses by licking the steering wheel.3) McLaren Automotive McLaren said it's boosting efficiency by quite eccentric measures, such as measuring the technology center's lake and floor tiles daily, and by synchronizing the staff's tea breaks.4) BMW Motorrad BMW's motorcycle arm is solving parts availability issues in remote locations by offering a 3D printer mounted permanently on the bike's rack: If you need to replace a broken-off gear lever, you can just print one. "The new system will mean that even very rarely required parts not generally stocked by BMW Motorrad sales partners can be supplied on a just-in-time basis." BMW even went to the lengths of announcing that the "BMW Motorrad iPart 3D Mobile Printer" was tested on the Antarctic, by erecting a tent whose poles were produced onsite.5) Honda Last but not least, Honda UK purportedly cut the roof off a new CR-V, calling it the CR-V Roadster. Tellingly, no convertible top was even offered for the concept, "making it a no-top rather than a drop-top. This innovative design makes it a vehicle purely for sunnier climates and therefore completely useless for the two-day British summer which traditionally occurs in May."Related Video: Featured Gallery Top 5 April Fools 2018 Image Credit: Porsche Green Humor Weird Car News BMW Honda Lexus McLaren Porsche bmw motorrad mclaren automotive

Porsche wants you to 3D print your own Cayman

Tue, 10 Dec 2013

Have you got access to a 3D printer? Well lucky you, because as we're rapidly learning, the possibilities are virtually endless. And if your tastes lean towards the automotive (as we'd assume they do if you're reading this page), we've got good news.
Porsche has just released 3D printing data for the Cayman S so you can three-dimensionally print out your own and customize to your heart's content. Now Porsche hasn't specified just to what scale the data will allow you to print your Cayman, but we have a feeling that'd mostly be limited by the size of the printer at your disposal. Check it out in the video below and follow the link to the Porsche site to download the file.
