1983 Porsche 944 Base Coupe 2-door 2.5l on 2040-cars
Sun Valley, California, United States
Selling a 1983 porsche 944 which has been maintained and taken care of throughout the years.
I personally don't want to get rid of it and think it's a lot stronger than the porsche 944s I own. Plus the gas mileage is a lot better. But unfortunately I fractured my hand and I'm not able to drive the manual steered car. I love the 83 because you don't have the power steering leaching off the engine. The engine is mechanical sound and runs really smooth. It has the originally exhaust pipe so it's really quit and doesn't sounds like the engine is on. The fans are louder than the engine. It passed smog with flying colors recently and just gave it a compression tests which is all up to spec. Before I changed the oil I couldn't help but notice the oil was still brown. The interior is 7 out of 10 due to the fact that the driver seat is pretty ripped up. The paint is showing some signs of wear. All the electrical components work and even the speedometer works with the miles.heater and blower works fine ac just needs to be recharged. Cooling systems works fine and both fans come on when needed. The only issue I believe should be looked into is it sounds like the car needs new transmission mounts because it does have play when you shift. But all five gears shift smooth and the clutch feels new. Parts that has been replaced: Brand new iridium spark plugs New spark plug cables New coil New distributor cap New air filter New dme relay New dme temp sensor New throttle position sensor Head rebuild about 30k ago along with valve seat and valve seal replacement Replaced all the light bulbs on the car. And tons of electrical work except the passenger window which I was told needs a new relay motor works This car was amazing and has treated me well I'm more than happy for people to check it out and test drive it I'm sure that will sell it on the spot. This is a great holiday present for that grandson as a first car or surprise for a father. This car is priced to sell and it's best offer. It's on multiple websites so please don't miss out. Leno, Seinfeld and a Porsche 356/2 featured in latest CICGC
Sun, 19 Jan 2014In the latest kaffeeklatsch known as Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Jerry Seinfeld pulls Jay Leno out of his garage for a trip to Jones Coffee in Pasadena, CA. The NBC funnyman we've lately seen driving two guest Porsches in his eponymous garage this time takes the passenger seat in a 1949 Porsche 356/2, one of early all-aluminum, hand-built coupes - still in 100-percent original condition - built in Gmund, Austria and nicknamed "Gmunds."
The comedy veterans have known one another for 35 years, so the episode is rich with stories of The Good Old Days. Leno says it is also the first time he's ever had a cup of coffee, and for obvious comedic reasons they start with the civet-stained beans made famous in The Bucket List. You can watch Leno take his first sip below, and have you haven't heard the joke about the goat and the anvil, scroll on down for a listen to that and one or two more jokes besides.
Recharge Wrap-up: 2015 Fuel Economy Guide available, how Porsche ships 919 Hybrid
Fri, Nov 7 2014The EPA and Department of Energy have released the 2015 Fuel Economy Guide. Unsurprisingly, the groups say that this year features more fuel efficient and low-emissions vehicles than previous years, and they span a greater variety of vehicle types. The guide also provides "best-in-class" lists, greenhouse gas ratings and estimated fuel costs for each vehicle. The EPA and DOE hope that car buyers will use the guide to help choose cars that are better for the environment and the climate. Check out the guide for yourself or read more in the press release below. To get from one WEC race to the next, Porsche ships its 919 Hybrid LMP1 cars by air. As the team travels around the world - from continent to continent - it must take 35 tons worth of cargo with it, including two LMP1 cars. That means draining fluids, partially dismantling the cars, and fitting everything into a 747. The team also ships items by sea, which requires shipping extra sets of items due to the longer shipping times. "It's all about efficiency," according to Porsche. Volkswagen is providing a 2015 e-Golf to Stanford University for research. Porsche boss admits Panamera's style is offputting
Sat, 11 Oct 2014
"There have been some small mistakes and we will do it better. For example the design could be better." - Matthias Mueller.
The design of the Porsche Panamera has been divisive, to say the least. Pretty much any Porsche with four doors was going to draw the ire of enthusiasts, but the fast-back-style roofline, prominent curves and seemingly never-ending hood have particularly irked some brand loyalists.
