Up for your consideration is my sharp, first year 944 Porsche. I need to clear out some garage space. My loss is your gain. First the body, it's a rock solid rust free car. I shipped it in from Florida. I didn't drive it once on the winter Pa roads here. The body and paint are excellent except for a ding on the fender and fading on the roof and hood. The rest of the paint still shines good. I call the color gun metal gray, I Love this color. Can you imagine original paint on a 30 year old car! The original wheels are in amazing condition. The tires are in good condition, about 50% tread.

Next the interior, it's in very good condition. The front seats were reupholstered very nicely. The dash is great for an 83'.It's got a few small cracks, less than I have ever seen on a 944 of this vintage. The stereo works great and so do all the options except the AC, needs a shot of Freon. The car was never smoked in.

Mechanically the car runs fantastic. Starts every time, never misses a beat. I would drive this car anywhere, not a shake or a shimmy. The clutch and brakes feel great. The engine doesn't use or drip any oil. The lights, blinkers, and wipers are working good. Remember, all the 1st yr cars have manual steering. This gives you a great feel for the road.

The car is 30 yrs old, don't expect it to be perfect; It's sold as-is. I do think you will really like it. My feedback shows I'm a reliable honest E-Bayer.

Supercars for the win | Autoblog Podcast #515

Fri, May 19 2017

Some days at Autoblog are better than others. And in this episode, we talk about those days. Specifically, the days where we get to drive supercars. Mike Austin, Greg Migliore, and Alex Kierstein join up in this episode to talk about driving the McLaren 720S, Ford GT, and Porsche 911 GT3. We also drove some less-super, but still notable cars that we talk about at the top of the show. And as always, we play the game Spend My Money where we get to tell readers what we'd do if we were them. We had a lot of fun with this one, we hope you enjoy listening to it. The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) And if you have other questions or comments, please send those too. Porsche suspends 911 GT3 deliveries amidst fears of spontaneous combustion

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Seeing pictures of Italian supercars burst into flames by the side of the road, as our compatriots at Axis of Oversteer point out, has become something of a usual sight. But a Porsche? Surely those meticulous German engineers have got that taken care of, right?
Not necessarily. Reports coming in from Europe indicate that no fewer than five 911 GT3 coupes have "spontaneously combusted" in the past few weeks, prompting Porsche to launch an investigation. In the meantime, they've reportedly ceased deliveries of the new GT3 while they try to determine what the problem is and work to rectify it.
We wouldn't be surprised to see a recall issued once the problem is resolved, but for now, we'd encourage existing owners to be extra vigilant behind the wheel - or better yet, leave their cars in the garage for the time being. You wouldn't want to drive a 475-horsepower rear-drive sports car through a Polar Vortex, anyway, right?

Porsche recalling 4,400 911, Boxster and Cayman models over hood latches

Mon, 03 Nov 2014

Porsche has issued a "precautionary" and voluntary safety recall affecting some 4,400 sports cars across the globe. Here in the United States, the recall includes 1,382 911, Boxster convertibles and Cayman coupes, all of which are from model years 2014 and 2015.
Porsche will be replacing the lock bracket for the front cargo area (the frunk) after internal testing revealed that, while the vehicles meet "strength requirements," specific parts might not meet the company's quality standards throughout the vehicle's life. There have been no reports of accidents or injuries.
Owners of the affected cars will be notified within 60 days and will need to report to a nearby dealer for a free repair, which should take about 30 minutes.
