If you want stock wheels this is not the car for you. If you want a stock steering wheel this is not the car for you. If you want to go to a Porsche car show with a stock Porsche this is not the car for you. NOW PLEASE READ MY AD ... I am selling a 1986 Porsche 930  911 wide body TURBO ....... This car is a one of a kind. I bought this car from a family member's estate . I have owned the car for 2 1/2 years and put 47 miles on it. (I take it out every Sunday and drive it around my neighborhood just to run the car.) The car has 2300 miles on a REBUILT engine.  The oil gets changed every 3 to 6 months. I am selling it because I don't drive her like she should be driven and I hate to see something this nice sit in a garage under a cotton cover. The car is serviced locally at a high end dealer that only services Porsche.  This car was completely restored. The Porsche was re-built in Las Vegas at a high end performance shop that only worked on Porsche and other exotic cars. The car received a full-body make-over, which includes, but is not limited to, a 12k custom paint job, custom brake system (larger calipers and drilled rotors for precise stopping at faster speeds), and a new race suspension for handling high speeds. There are over 100k in upgrades found in this car. The paint is Beautiful. The wheels have NO dings or scratches. The brakes have 2300 miles on them and the same is true for the Pirelli Zero tires. The A/C works, power seats work, sun roof works.  It has a pioneer CD player with blue tooth with Boston speakers.  Everything on the car works. I have the owner's manual, the original  jack, and the Porsche tool kit as seen in photo. CLEAR/CLEAN Florida Title. I know where the kit was purchased and the company that installed it; but they will not release any information because I was not the owner of the car at that time. But if you come see this car and drive it you will understand. Its a Pearl...

I am selling it less then that because I do not have the paperwork on the car.  I have no problem having anyone come look at this car. I have a 100% feed back and I'm not a dealer. Chevy Corvette Stingray defeating rivals where it matters most

Wed, 16 Jul 2014

Everything is coming up roses for the award-winning Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, as new data from the North American Dealers Association dissected by GM Authority reveals that America's sports car is handily outselling two of its more expensive rivals.
Through June of 2014, the NADA notes that the Corvette has rung up 17,744 sales, handily besting the Porsche 911 and positively spanking the SRT Viper. Of course, you're sitting there thinking, "Corvette is outselling the much more expensive Porsche and Viper. Sky blue, water wet." But what's impressive here is just how thoroughly the Chevrolet is beating its two rivals, with this data serving as a testament to just how popular the seventh-generation sports car has become.
So far this year, Porsche has managed to move 5,169 911s, according to NADA. Considering that the base model starts at nearly $15,000 more than the most heavily optioned Stingray, and that Porsche owners have a vast, expensive options catalogue to select from, Stuttgart's sales are still plenty impressive in relation to the nearly 18,000 Corvettes sold.

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.

1986 Porsche 959 Prototype at Barrett-Jackson sees gavel fall at $440,000 [UPDATE: w/video]

Sat, 19 Jan 2013

Fans of Porsche in America have longed for the chance to buy a 959 ever since the German automaker produced and sold it (well, sold it everywhere but the United States...) in the 1980s. Well, they just had their chance. The car you see above is a Porsche 959 prototype built in 1986, and only one other running prototype still exists.
The 959 prototype can't be driven on public roads, as it carries no such certification. Somehow, we doubt that matters all that much to the new buyer - this one is probably going to be sitting in a collection. When the gavel finally fell, bidding had reached $400,000, plus a 10-percent buyer's fee.
Check out our high-res image gallery above to see this prototype up close, and scroll down below to watch a video of it crossing the auction block and for its official auction description.
