Really nice original Low Mileage 1980 928s Euro. Licensed and currently driven in New York State USA.(though not for too many miles) grey market 928s Euro. Originally owned by a MD, was stored for about 20 years upon his death. New brakes and tires after removal from storage. Runs great, sounds awesome, feels really good to drive. Most powerful V8 motor sold in Porsche 928 that year. Front air dam and rear spoiler. Paint is good, but there are some swirls from buffing and a couple of stars in the paint you can find if you look long enough. The leather is pulled back about 1/4" from the vent above the passenger seating and needs re-gluing in the rear quarter behind the driver. A good craftsman should be able to fix these. I bought a replacement power antenna, it needs to be installed. Climate control fan works only in defrost position. Passenger window is up and will not roll down.
There just were not that many of these cars made and imported to the US. This one is really nice original with really low mileage. Please ask any questions or better yet, come and take the car for a drive. Matt (716)498-0467 |

Porsche drivers escape this horrific VIR crash unscathed
Mon, 07 Oct 2013There is no doubting the fact that it takes nerves of steel to be a racecar driver, but the same can also be said for motorsports photographers. Case in point: The American Le Mans Series Oak Tree Grand Prix at the Virginia International Raceway where two Porsche 911 racecars crash hard into the tire barrier, but the dedicated cameraman stays with the shot - diving away only at the last second just as the battered No. 31 car (shown above) comes to rest atop the tire barriers just feet from where he was standing.
The crash occurred when the two Porsches charged hard into a corner. Judging by the video, the white No. 48 car appears to not see the orange No. 31 and the two cars make contact, skidding off track hitting the tire barriers at a high rate of speed. Both drivers walked away from the frightening crash, but the video - posted below - shows just how bad things could have been. Hopefully the close call will serve as a lesson for the woman standing in the track marshal's post who has her back to the racing as the two cars barrel directly toward her.
Porsche 918 Spyder configurator goes live

The debut model of the new Porsche 918 Spyder is still thronged by onlookers at the Frankfurt Motor Show, while the German sports car maker is hard at work putting the first version of the supercar's configuration page online. Considering Porsche configurators are some of our favorite time-wasters of the genre, we expect car-guy productivity to drop by a few percentage points over the rest of the day.
So, the 918 dream-maker doesn't list and prices as yet, and that's too bad. But considering the car is due to start off at $845,000 in the US, chances are good that unless you're reading this from the shallow end of your Uncle Scrooge-spec money pool, the cost of any part of the 918 is academic to you anyway.
To start, Porsche is offering twelve paint colors, three wheel choices and seven two-tone interior treatments. Standard lightweight bucket seats and a set of chairs with "firmer padding" are on offer, too. The options list is mostly populated with interior bits, though many - an anti-reflection interior, fire extinguisher, six-point seatbelts - are racing-oriented or functional. Note that Porsche is also kind enough to offer just one cupholder as an optional extra; the unit is made of aluminum and is detachable so that you won't have to carry the extra weight during racing. Also, Porsche probably puts you on some kind of naughty 'list' if you order one...
2013 Porsche 911 RSR makes official debut
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Porsche is ready to go racing in 2013, showing off a new 911 RSR today that is scheduled to compete in several endurance events this year. Based on the current 991 911, the new RSR will compete in the 2013 season of the World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It will not, however, make an appearance in a North American racing series this year.
The 2013 version of the racecar has increased in wheelbase by some four inches, features a new wishbone front suspension in place of the last-generation's McPherson strut setup and boasts a new, lightweight six-speed racing gearbox. The engine, meanwhile, is an "optimized" version of last year's car, a 460-horsepower 4.0-liter boxer six-cylinder. Extensive use of carbon fiber and polycarbonate windows help the RSR shed weight, and Porsche has also balanced the weight more evenly with a lower center of gravity.
Porsche has thoughtfully dedicated some space to celebrate the 911's 50th Anniversary, with the number 50 clearly visible in the top-down view of the RSR, as well as along the doors. Scroll down to read the full Porsche press release, below.
