Porsche 87 928s4 928 Over $18,000.00 Maintenance Receipts In The Past 6000 Miles on 2040-cars
Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
Hello, you are viewing my 1987 Porsche 928S4 with 76,147 miles. This Porsche is in WONDERFUL condition that is well maintained (over $18,000.00 maintenance receipts in the past 6,000 miles). The silver paint is in great condition with a great shine. (some small imperfection or chips) The burgundy interior is in great condition. No rips or tears in the leather (small wear marks on drivers bolster). The dash does have some cracks; vinyl material is cracked by the drives door lock button. Headliner and carpet are in good condition. Overall very nice and presentable! Mechanically the car is EXCELLENT! Runs, drives and shifts perfect. I have over $18,000.00 in maintenance receipts, that include timing belt, water pump, AC Compressor, evaporator and hoses (134a). Devek Performance Radiator, transmission and oil cooler. Rebuilt transmission and torque tube, new distributor caps and wires and MUCH MUCH more. Everything works as it should. The heat blows hot and the air conditioner blows cold . Tires and 17" cup wheels are newer with less than 1,000 miles on them. I would not hesitate to drive this car on a 2000 mile road trip. Also included are tools, books and record. The car is sold in “As Is Condition”. I do welcome and encourage pre-sale inspections. I am a car collector and it is time to pass it on to another collector. If you have questions, please send me your # and I will give you a call. Please bid if you are serious and have available funds to complete this transaction. Thank you. |

Porsche 911 and Citro"en DS lovechild would look like this
Wed, 06 Nov 2013The early Porsche 911 and the Citroën DS were two cars produced in the same era (though the DS launched in 1955, nearly 10 years before the 911), but they were vastly different from each other. The 911 was a uniquely German, pure-bred sports car, while the French-built DS had four doors and focused more on ride quality than sporting intentions. That made it all the more surprising when we came across the 911DS, a creation that binds the rear half of the Citroën to the front of an early, longhood 911.
The folks at Brandpowder are behind the creation, which we surmise was an exercise in design rather than an actual, completed project (some of the images look Photoshopped), but it's compelling nonetheless, with a turbocharged flat-six providing 260 horsepower. We hope someone builds it - though we're sure if that happened the early 911 crowd would cry afoul at one of its increasingly rare and valuable Porsches being grafted onto an old French car.
But as Brandpowder points out lightheartedly, perhaps the creation could transcend popular car culture: "The 911DS represents the effort of two countries, a genuine attempt to join their energy and talent into one thing. We hope Germany and France will be inspired by Brandpowder's story, as a metaphor for a better and greater Europe."
Porsche digitally dissects its 918 Spyder for your viewing pleasure
Wed, 02 Oct 2013At this point, you'd think we'd know all there is to know about the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder - except what it's like to drive - but Porsche has released a new video giving us a more in-depth look at its new plug-in hypercar all the same. The animated video gives us numerous cutaway looks at the 918 Spyder while giving a visual demonstration of the car's four hybrid driving modes.
Though nowhere near as exciting as watching the 918 blast around the Nürburgring in record time, this new video is nonetheless both interesting and informative. Scroll down to watch the video yourself, and be sure to check out our live gallery of the production version of the car along with a stock gallery.
Le Mans-winning Porsche 935 K3 'seized' by DEA agents
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Porsche has won Le Mans more than any other marque, but only one of those overall race winners was actually based on a 911. That was the 1979 Porsche 935 K3, chassis number 009 00015 that was entered by brothers Don and Bill Whittington. It went on to win at the Nürburgring and Watkins Glen, and scored podium finishes at Sebring and Brands Hatch as well. In short, it's a historically significant and hugely valuable piece of motorsport history. And it was just seized by the DEA. Sorta.
After the Whittington brothers ran afoul of a handful of lawsuits and were implicated in smuggling narcotics, the car changed hands a few times before ending up in the noted collection of one Bruce Meyers. He had it at Laguna Seca earlier this month when a black Suburban, Dodge Charger and transporter truck pulled up with government plates, asked to speak with Meyer, presented him with a court order, loaded the car onto the truck and drove off.
Though familiar with the legal disputes surrounding the ownership of the car and the misdeeds of its famous original owners, Meyer was left understandably distraught over the events that had just unfolded in front of him to separate him from his pride and joy. (Or one of them, anyway; Bruce has got an eminently desirable collection of classic cars.) But here's the kicker: those DEA agents weren't actual DEA agents. Fortunately they weren't thieves, either. The actual story could have been the plot right out of Ocean's 14 if they ever made one and it focused on classic cars. (Is anyone in Hollywood listening?)
