Moving again for the Army.  Car stays in my garage in GA (title in hand) and it is only driven occasionally, as I am stationed out of state.  I am moving even farther away from GA and can no longer justify keeping the car.  I bought it upon return from Afghanistan 6 years ago as a third car.  I've taken about five or six long road trips with it, but otherwise, it has remained in the garage driven rarely.  Car has real V8 roar (and power) due to the headers and the muffler bypass.  Solid on the highway at speed.  All power options to include seats. New radiator and blue LED dash lights.

Yes, it needs some work (things happen to a 27 year old car).  Overall, the car runs great.  Car is being offered for far less than its true value to account for the following defects: power steering pump leaks fluid, but PS still works fine; A/C does not work, but heat works really well; scratch on front left fender - so front end mask (bra) included with vehicle; and drivers seat has developed two splits in the leather.  Finally, odometer stopped working a few years ago.  Car has never been a daily driver and has been driven approximately 5K miles since odometer stopped.  Great car, but needs more attention than I can give it.  Happy to answer any questions about it.

Porsche 356 Outlaw is the other Continental

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

In Porsche parlance, 'outlaw' basically means 'hot rod,' and that definition can vary from person to person. For Jack Griffin and his 1955 Porsche 356 Continental, it means taking a great car to start with and reworking it to become a classic coupe that fits its driver perfectly. The latest video from Petrolicious highlights Griffin's 356 and all of the personalization he has in the beautiful ride.
Griffin acquired this 356 in 1994, but it came in rough shape. That made it the perfect canvas to transform the coupe into the Porsche of his dreams. On the outside, only things like the hood-mounted fuel filler, louvered decklid and Fuchs wheels give it away as something special, but underneath, it is modernized to be a faster, more robust car. Griffin considers it "a piece of art on wheels."
Hearing the Continental name associated with Griffin's Porsche might be throwing you, since it's normally more associated with Lincoln, but Griffin tells the whole story of what makes it so special on his '55 in the video. Scroll down to get an automotive history lesson and check out this fantastic 356 hot rod.

Porsche 911 hybrid could get green light after all

Wed, May 13 2015

The prospect of producing a hybrid version of the Porsche 911 has been on and off the table more times than we'd care to count. But before the year is up, the German automaker will make up its mind whether or not it will put the idea in motion. Porsche currently offers more plug-in hybrids than any other automaker. And according to Porsche CEO Matthias Muller in speaking with Automotive News, the opportunity exists to expand the powertrain technology to every model in the company's lineup, including the 911. The sports car would likely be the next in line for hybridization, said Muller, giving Porsche a direct competitor to the BMW i8. It wouldn't be the first time Zuffenhausen would slot a hybrid powertrain into the iconic rear-engined coupe, having previously raced the 911 GT3 R Hybrid (pictured above), but it would be the first road-going version available to customers. "That is a technique which we at Porsche are very familiar with," Muller told AN, "so we can suppose that we could have plug-ins all over the model range, not only to save fuel but also to boost the performance of these cars." Currently the E-Hybrid versions of the Cayenne and Panamera which Porsche offers account for roughly 15 and 11 percent of their respective model lines' sales in the US, while the 918 Spyder, of course, is offered only as a hybrid. If the 911 hybrid gets the green light, that would leave only the Macan, Boxster and Cayman without the option of electric assist. Related Video:

Porsche reveals first Macan driving and manufacturing footage

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

One of the more anticipated offerings of the upcoming year, Porsche's sporty baby Cayenne, the 2015 Macan, has already earned nods of approval from a number of Autoblog staffers. We named it one of the top five debuts at last month's LA Auto Show, citing its 400-horsepower turbocharged engine and other sporty bits as good reasons to get excited about Stuttgart's latest.
And while our first test may be many months away, we're keeping our ears to the ground for any information on Porsche's compact crossover. We're especially keen on stuff like this - our first look at the new model in motion and undergoing assembly at its Leipzig plant. Both are shorter videos, and while there's little of the glorious engine noise we've already been teased with, the videos do offer a great look at the handsome Macan on the road, as well as glimpse at Porsche's state-of-the-art manufacturing operations.
Scope out the videos below and let us know what you think.
