928gts W 23k Actual Miles And In Show Condition! on 2040-cars
Geneva, New York, United States
This Porsche 928 GTS is among the finest in the country, and is rare. There were only 139 made in 1994, with the first 20 being of the 1993 specs, and the last 119 made with the highest level of technology ever produced for the line. There were only 77 made in the final year of production, making my car one of the last 200 made of Porsche's first 8 cylinder super car. I have an independent appraisal made two years ago when I bought this investment, which depicts the car to likely appreciate in value by 5% per year if kept in the same fine condition.
This GTS is highly original except for maintenance items. Only the stereo has been changed from the factory presentation. Now, I have a Blaupunkt Toronto BT, with MP3 and USB compatibility in addition to Bluetooth. There is a 12" woofer and a huge amp in the hatchback area which is shielded by the hatch cover. I have the original carpet and padding, and the cargo net to go with her, but not shown in the pics. The original tan floor mats are not shown and go with, and have some signs of wear. The battery is new with a trickle charger set up, installed for storage. The paint is in extraordinary condition. I know there are some, but I find no sign of chips when I wax her, so a great job of cover up was done. This car has not been damaged and the paint is original. The Michelin Pilot Sports are all new with about 1500 miles on them. All services are up to date, including the timing belt and water pump service. This car needs absolutely zero service, as I have made sure all fluids and services have been performed so I could drive her with confidence. There are no leaks. The AC is strong and the exhaust sounds truly terrific. It softly roars, more than any other Porsche Ive driven. The original tools are there but it looks like one slot is empty. The original tire and changing tools are also there as original. The oil pressure is very high and she does not ever over heat. I've had 19 Porsches and acknowledge this one to be well above average. I am selling due to my advancing age and lack of time to drive several vehicles. If I can qualify you as a serious buyer, I can provide references and the independent appraisal mentioned above. However, I recommend that you also have the car appraised or qualified before buying. Let me, John, know of your questions by email to Rx4jp@aol.com. Last comment. I've had manual transmission and AT 928s. These cars are so powerful and well geared, that you would seldom get to use more than two gears on US roads. With the Automatic, you get ease of touring even in traffic, plus a frightening 'stomp-down' when you open her up. I honestly believe the AT makes the car seem faster. It is certainly more accommodating. Good luck in your search. These are fantastic cars. |

Porsche 918 Spyder already almost sold out?
Mon, 20 Oct 2014Still planning on getting your hands on a Porsche 918 Spyder? You'd better act quickly, because word has it that the hybrid hypercar is nearly sold out.
While Porsche has reportedly only delivered a little over 30 of the 918 examples of the Spyder it plans to manufacture in total, Automotive News says that production is sold out through late March or early April - just a few months shy of when production is set to wrap in July.
That's pretty impressive for a car with a base price of almost $850,000, especially one requiring a $200,000 deposit just to get your name on the list. Still, that sum is significantly less than its competitors get for the McLaren P1 or LaFerrari, both of which sell for over a million (if you can actually get on one at that price), though in fairness, production of each is limited to less than half of the 918 Spyder.
Porsche CEO Oliver Blume will be installed as head of the VW brand
Wed, Jun 3 2020Volkswagen Chief Executive Herbert Diess is planning to promote Porsche CEO Oliver Blume to take over as the head of the VW brand, according to a report from Auto Motor und Sport. Citing company sources, the German site said Bernhard Maier, who currently sits at the head of VW's Skoda brand, will lead Porsche in Blume's place. A shuffle at VW isn't surprising. The last thing Volkswagen needs as it transitions away from its long-running "clean diesel" TDI fiasco and into a clean electric ID future is negative press surrounding its burgeoning electrified lineup. Unfortunately, the ID.3 launch has been marred by software issues, with Manager magazine citing company engineers saying "the basic architecture was developed too hastily." Because of that underlying issue, various modules "often do not understand each other" and suffer dropouts. The brand-new eighth-generation Golf launch was also troubled and pushed back due to software problems. And more recently, Volkswagen was forced to pull an advertisement after admitting it was racist and insulting. That marketing misstep, according to the report, will lead to the firing of Chief Marketing Officer Jochen Sengpiehl. Related Video:
Porsche already considering even more hardcore Cayman GT4 RS?
Fri, Mar 6 2015We're not sure what kind of person would look at the new Porsche Cayman GT4 and say "that's not enough," but we're sure they're out there. And to satisfy just such a customer, Porsche could very well offer a GT4 RS version in the future. "This is just the beginning of the era. I would be interested in doing a Cayman GT4 RS version, but at the moment we didn't even talk about such a thing. If the customers call for something like this we could think about it." These are the words of Andreas Preuninger, speaking with Evo at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show this week. As head of Porsche's GT line, Preuninger and his team are responsible for creating hardcore track models like the 911 GT3, the new 911 GT3 RS and – for the first time – the new Cayman GT4. Clearly buoyed by the early success of the GT4, Prenuninger is already looking towards the next step. Considering that the existing model already packs a 3.8-liter flat six with 385 horsepower and the manual transmissions so many GT3 fans miss, we're not sure how much more they could get out of the Cayman – but we'll sure enjoy watching them try.
