1995 Porsche 928 GTS V8 - Original MSRP $85,105 (private party sale)
Very special car, one of only 77 928 Gts models produced for the US market in 1995, the
last year of this models production.
The 928 has the distinction of being Porsches only coupe powered by a front mounted V8 motor as well as the
company’s first production V8 powered model.
This particular car was sold new to the original owner on August 8th of 1995 and he owned the car until January of
2016 when I purchased it.
The original owner is a local surgeon who collected coupes and took extremely good care of everything he owned.
I have been able to secure service records going back to December of 2011 from Westmont Porsche here in Illinois
and from that time to the last repair order from them dated July 2015 with 62685 miles he spent $15,480
This shows you the level of care and maintenance taken on this vehicle.
Recent items repaired or replaced;
Fuel pump 51,841 miles
Timing belt 51,841 miles
V belts 51,841 miles
Brake fluid flush 57,789 miles
Wheels refinished 61,864 miles
The car is black over beige hides with black piping
The original MSRP was $85,105 and pretty much everything was standard on these last cars including increased air
conditioning, electric sunroof and remote cd changer.
As you can see by the pictures the car is in excellent condition with it only being driven on dry, warm days.
All books, recent records and keys are included as well as original Porsche car cover and many pamphlets from back
when new.
It truly is a car worth adding to a collection.
Haggerty values for the car are between $59,000 being excellent condition and $85,900 in Concours with a 20%
reduction for an automatic transmission which this is.

Former Top Gear crew starts filming for Amazon show
Wed, Oct 7 2015We might have only a hint at the name and no exact date for a premiere, but fans can celebrate that Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May are filming once again. Plus, it looks like every cent of Amazon's reportedly lavish budget is being put on the screen. A photo tweeted by Clarkson shows the three hosts standing proudly in front of a Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari LaFerrari, and McLaren P1 at a racetrack. Clarkson jokes that the show has just a "skeleton crew" but behind him stand several dozen people, a sophisticated-looking camera rig, and two big trucks. This definitely looks worth the anticipation of the premiere on Amazon Prime next fall. Hammond tweeted the same picture and wrote: "The band is back together and it feels brilliant." Intriguingly, it appears that fellow British auto journalist Chris Harris is currently filming at the same track. He tweeted a photo to Clarkson of the McLaren doing a very smoky slide, while being followed by the other two hypercars. The Porsches in both photos wear the same red-and-white number 3 livery and have the same license plate number. In a later message, Harris was also clear that he wasn't filming there in connection with the trio's Amazon show. This content is hosted by a third party. Evo makes the case for the world's best driving road in Majorca
Tue, 05 Aug 2014What good is a sports car if you haven't got a great place to drive it? It's a common refrain that we've heard time and time again. But few are as familiar with the problem as they are in the UK, where the number of people, cars on the road and traffic cameras keep growing to conspire against the joy of driving. Leave it to Evo, then, to depart in search of the greatest driving road in the world.
It's a pursuit that's taken the British car mag across Europe, most recently to Romania's Carpathian Mountains where it added the Transalpina Pass to its short list. But its latest journey has taken Evo to the Spanish island of Majorca, where Henry Catchpole found not one, but two spectacular driving roads from behind the wheel of the new Porsche Boxster GTS. We could drone on about the smooth, empty ribbons of twisting tarmac with excellent visibility and panoramic vistas... but you really want to see the video for yourself. Don't miss Evo's previous trip to Romania in the Jaguar F-Type, which we've included below, as well.
Porsche 911 GT3 RS facing delay over GT3 fire problems?
Mon, 24 Mar 2014Porsche has never been afraid to introduce variants of its cars. However, its even higher spec, next-generation 911 GT3 RS may be delayed from its planned launch this summer while the engines in the standard GT3s (pictured above) are replaced.
A delay isn't certain, but executives want to make sure the high-strung mill is no longer a problem before they press forward with another model using it. Germany's Auto Motor und Sport asked Porsche CEO Matthias Müller about pushing back the launch, and he responded that it was too early to say. The company's current focus is making sure the engines get fixed and working on internal measures to prevent this kind of flaw in the future.
When fires claimed two 911 GT3s in Europe, Porsche initially stopped the model's sales and asked owners to stop driving them. It finally diagnosed the blazes as being caused by a loose screw on a connecting rod, which then resulted in crankcase damage and an oil leak. The company is replacing the engines on all 785 affected cars. A source told Autoblog that under 200 customers were actually affected, and the other cars were either at port or dealer lots. Hopefully, the recall doesn't postpone the road-going GT3 RS too far because we want to see what Porsche has up its sleeve.
