I am selling this one owner vehicle for the wife of the original owner who passed away 2 years ago.  The car has been stored since his death in doors. I replaced the battery checked the fluids and it started right up and ran very well.  The original color of the car is D4 Pastel Beige with a brown leather interior.  This is a rare exterior color commonly referred to in 1984 as chiffon.  The interior is in very nice condition with perfect dash but with the common drivers side bolster ware. As mentioned the car runs very well with no noises.  The transmission shifts as it should  The car was properly maintained by either the local Porsche dealer or by a popular German mechanic in the Detroit area.  The timing belt, tensioners and water pump were changed at 50,000 miles.  All gauges and accessories work as they should including Air conditioning, but will need a charge.

This 928 with the rare paint and interior is very nice but an enthusiast will need to detail it after sitting.  No major body or interior work is needed with the exception of the drivers side seat bolster. The 4 wheels need attention, but most buyers probably replaced then with more popular wheel and tire combination.  The wheels could be easily refinished as there is no curb damage. Included with the car is the original window sticker, Owners Manual, Warranty Booklet, Tools and Air pump.

As mentioned, I am selling this car for a friend.  I am a current owner of a 928 and a 35 year member of PCNA. The vehicle is located in Bingham Farms, Michigan northwest of Detroit and can be inspected by appointment.  I will assist with any shipping required, however the purchaser must arrange his own shipping.

Any questions can be answered by me.  You can call me at 248-417-7400

Porsche goes karting in its Cayman GTS

Sun, 03 Aug 2014

Think Mini is the king of Go-Kart Handling[TM]? Well, you might be mistaken, as Porsche proves here it's fully capable of delivering a driving experience that'd fit in quite nicely on a go-kart track.
Using a new and very red Cayman GTS, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer invades a kart track in northern Italy and sets the mid-engined sports car loose to slip, slide and zip its way around the circuit. As far as videos for Sunday evening go, this one ticks all the boxes.
Take a look.

Why you must buy an air-cooled Porsche 911 now

Fri, 14 Feb 2014

"Because" might be a good response to our headline, but as a vintage (purists might call 'proper') Porsche 911 is hardly cheap, we suspect you'll need a better explanation than that. Enter Drive editor Mike Spinelli.
Spinelli sits down with Zac Moseley and Mick Prichinello from Classic Car Club Manhattan to first explain why the market for old, air-cooled 911s has gotten so hot over the past few years, and to discuss if it's a bubble that's about to burst. Following that, this video is really is just three guys sitting around talking about old Porsches for 35 minutes. Which, you know, we're pretty onboard with.

Porsche gives GT3 owners extra year of warranty, new engines in production April 22

Sat, 12 Apr 2014

While the auto industry reels from massive recall after massive recall, Porsche has quietly been working on a fix for an issue that's forced owners of the new 911 GT3 to park their track-ready rockets for fear of an engine fire. Thanks to a leaked letter from Porsche to a GT3 owner (which has been certified as real), we now have an idea of just where the German brand is at with the fix.
On April 22, Porsche will begin production of a new batch of GT3 engines for the 785 affected models across the globe. As you'll recall, the original issue rested with a screw joint that could loosen the connecting rod. The new engines have an "optimized piston rod screw connection," that should keep the connecting rod in place. Once technical validations are completed, production will kick off and new powerplants will be shipped around the globe for owners of the troubled cars.
Porsche will hand out a certificate to owners of affected cars once repairs have been completed, as a means of documenting the work. To make up for the trouble, Porsche will be giving owners an extra year on their new-vehicle warranty, while the 911 GT3 concierge will be reaching out to compensate them for having to park their car for so long.
