1980 Porsche 928 running driving project car. Speedometer in kilometers 167,000 and all gauges labeled in german. Very cool. It has the engine that's much more powerful than the US model commonly seen. The 300 horse is actually hard to find nowadays it seems. The car fires right up, doesn't smoke, runs well too. I drove it 2 1/2 hours straight with no overheating or engine/trans problems. I don't think the heater heats. Drivers side door panel is off but I have most of it. Rear hatch interior panels are gone because the guy was planning on racing it but never got that far.  I have one of the rear seats and I believe half of the other one. Needs a drivers window switch. Motor works but switched recently stopped. May be a fuse. Drivers door handle is off but included. I think the brakes need a check up but they do work and it does drive. The car needs new plug wires also. Like I said it DOES run strong. I'm not one for beating on cars but couldn't resist a little acceleration action on the freeway ramp on my 2 1/2 hr drive. It was like a rocket on wheels. I think it could use a tuneup and general maintenance but man-o-man it has some serious power.

The car is sitting in my driveway which is not flat. It needs to be leveled and that is why the car seems to be sitting a bit odd.

This is an Arizona car also. Solid. Needs a muffler. It's loud. There is a crack in the windshield also.

Wheels shown are not included. I have a standard set of porsche 928 rims/tires that will go with it.  It looks like the rear quarters were altered slightly for bigger rear tires. I think it looks better than the stock wheel wells. The rear lip was moved up about an inch or so. They kept the original contours and lip but removed about an inch above the lip. Improved the shape greatly IMO. It's ready for some track tires or wide rims if you like. It looks like the car may have been hit in the far left corner at one time. Seems like the rear quarter has been straightened. It looks great going down the road. Paint is a ten footer but again it looks pretty sharp going down the road. I know there is a paint run under pass side mirror. It is missing the driver side 2 driving lights. The headlights won't go down and I don't know why but peeked at the relay board and realized the headlight motor relay was not there. I suspect the previous owner used the relay for something else perhaps. Front spoiler is missing mostly. Looks like they hit a curb. Rear spoiler needs to be bolted down tighter than it is. Hood catch needs to be looked at. It latches on the first notch but not second. Front seats need recovering. I have a really nice set of front power seats and rear seats from another 928 that have been recovered that I'd consider selling.

Overall this is a very cool project 928. Also it is the desirable NON-sunroof car. Factory color was dark green, oak green I think. Needs a dash cover and pod cover like most of them do. Would make a killer race track car. Sold as-is.  Also I ship cars for a living and can get it delivered to you.

reserve is set at $1500

Some added info:

Yes, the car is an S model and it has the m28/12 drivetrain. I rechecked again today, cleaned the block vin off and that IS what it is. The car has a euro pod but no third light in rear bumper. Not sure why but that's how it is.

Drivers front corner is NOT wrecked, it looks kinda weird in the first photo but wasn't wrecked. The drivers side fog/driving lights and bezel are missing because the guy took them out when he was trying to get headlights to open and close, lost the parts thereby leaving them off.

The white stuff in some of the pics is wax that needs to be cleaned off.

I noticed a few pieces of window trim are loose, the rear quarter windows don't have the aluminum trim installed. Never got them. Still looks good. I think the paint could be wetsanded and buffed out nicely with some touchup. Looks like a couple of runs.

Over spray on rear bumper thingees and on drivers front driving lights.

Drivers door needs adjusting to close tight and outer handle is off. I have it. Also interior handles are both NEW.

Sold as-is where is. Clean title NOT salvage either.

Editors’ Picks July 2022 | Volvo XC60, 911 GT3 and a hot Hyundai

Tue, Aug 16 2022

This latest rendition of Editors’ Picks sees us recognize some enthusiast-focused vehicles on both sides of the price spectrum and a luxury SUV. The 911 GT3 was an easy shoo-in, but the Hyundai Elantra N is what surprised us the most. WeÂ’re sad to see the Veloster N bow out after this year, but at least the N model in its place is a worthy one. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, hereÂ’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in July that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2022 Volvo XC60 2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge View 36 Photos Quick take: The Volvo XC60 is one of our favorite luxury crossovers, and the PHEV option is a killer setup. We dig the interior design, and the exterior is attractively Swedish, too. Score: 7.5 What it competes with: Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Genesis GV70, Jaguar F-Pace, BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class, Audi Q5, Lexus NX, Acura RDX, Volvo XC60, Lincoln Corsair, Infiniti QX50, Porsche Macan Pros: Great design, epic PHEV option, intriguing interior design options Cons: Tech can be cumbersome, big wheels lead to a stiff ride From the editors: Road Test Editor Zac Palmer — "When it comes to plug-in hybrids, there's no better compact crossover option than the XC60 Recharge. I really dig the extra-powerful electric motor and larger battery Volvo added this year. The interior wool option is my pick of the bunch, but I am a little disappointed that there aren't as many physical buttons throughout the interior as there were before." News Editor Joel Stocksdale — "Although it's got some age, the Volvo XC60 is still an excellent premium SUV. It's as handsome as ever with its clean, modern design inside and out, and feels genuinely luxurious. But what really sets the XC60 apart is its available plug-in hybrid powertrain. It's smooth and refined, and best of all, it's still great in electric mode.

A few pre-race notes and a lot of photos from the 24 Hours of Le Mans

Sat, 14 Jun 2014

The 82nd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on.
Audi has won 12 of the last 15 events, the scion of Auto Union is trying to make it 13 this year. To do so, it will have to overcome a situation faced only three other times during its dominance of La Sarthe: underdog status. Toyota has won the first two races of the year and claimed pole for this race, the rumor being that this year it's Toyota's race to lose.
And then there's Porsche. It's been 16 years since the Stuttgart brand raced on the top rung at Le Mans, three years years since it announced its return, just a year since it acquired Mark Webber in a signing that wasn't subtle and a few months since we got eyes on the 919 Hybrid.

Porsche Cayman GT4 speeds back into view

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

We're all familiar with the succession of numbers that follow the letters GT on a hard-core Porsche 911: the GT1 that was Stuttgart's Le Mans contender in the late 90s, the GT2 that packs turbochargers but without the Turbo's all-wheel drive and excess weight, and the naturally aspirated GT3 that's the enthusiast's choice. But a GT4? That's something new, and exactly what Porsche has in store.
Spied testing in Germany once again is the upcoming GT4 version of the Porsche Cayman, set to supersede the existing GTS and take the place of the previous Cayman R at the top of Porsche's junior sports car range. This latest batch of spy shots doesn't show us much more than the last crop, but gives us a much clearer view at what promises to be the most hardcore Cayman to date.
As you can see, the Cayman GT4 packs a much more aggressive aero kit and rolling stock than any version we've seen to date. It's got a lip spoiler, big air dam and GT3-style vent in front of the hood, deep air scoops along the flanks, a set of spindly alloys packing oversized brakes, a diffuser with twin central exhaust tips around back and a rear wing that's likely to be replaced with a sleeker unit before the GT4 reaches production.
