If your're looking at this auction then you already know what this car is. The  Porsche 924 turbo'
This was recently purchased  it had been in storage for some time ,  we decided to get her up and running  and  drive it , and slowly  restore it at the same time, We have  owned  many 944 's  and 944 Turbo 's but this 924 T was an exciting find for us .

This is car faxed as a low mile 2 reg. owner car.  I purchased it to turn  her into a Carrea gt clone but due to it original condition I decided not to  take her apart,
and save her for the 924 Turbo purist , now I decided to let this one go  so we can  continue  building a  2,5 turbo 924 S  with the gt flares and Carrea body kit .

When this 924 Turbo was  purchased this was  not running for some time due to a bad reference sensor , and the car was just sitting.

         REPAIRS
We replaced the  reference sensor as well as the  Siemens box, the car  starts on first turn of the key,  rev's  nicely to 5500 rpm with no issues,  to get it started  we replaced the fuel pump rebuilt the fuel dist.  changed all the  filters,  cat by pass , installed  new battery, changed spark plugs  dist cap and rotor, ect. the rare charge pipe was sourced and added this week .
2 wheel choices  are offered 16 forged man hole design  oem  or the ones pictured  phone dials .

Please  note  ( we are still added things to her as   we drive her .

       The good points
This is a light car quick and nimble .
She starts right up , the 5 speed trans axel was upgraded to the Porsche 944  latter type due to the original 931 transmission was not shifting  smoothly, now she  shifts perfectly  clutch is as it should be ..

This is a 5 lug original turbo factory car with a removable sunroof, 4 wheel disc  brakes and power window switch  functions as they should. the engine temp is cool and the oil pressure is where it should be,  manual steering rack . factory a/c car with heater . ( all components are intact ).

All in all is a great plat form  for the right person  wanting drive and restore a piece of Porsche history

    Bad Points

The interior is need of a re due but all components are intact this car is equipped with rare Porsche Sport seats, the rugs are dirty , and were changed to  oem  black , the  back seats are fine  headliner is excellent as well as the sunroof.usual dash cracks , no radio  (  we are scheduled to  remove  the interior to clean everything, then re install)

The Body is straight and free of any major rust , the car was repainted and a body kit installed, by previous owner,   we removed the body kit to  move towards it original condition. The exterior  paint is dull and faded   The under carriage is clean, and structurally sound.

FUN FACTOR

Drive and own a piece of Porsche history a blast from the past. these cars are fun to drive not only are the good on gas,it has power when you want it,  push down on the pedal, the boost come's on and off you go.
Totally different than driving Porsche 944 2.5 car . I own a few 944's and this one is allot of fun to drive.

Porsche tuners 9ff, SpeedArt going bankrupt

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

Times are tough in Europe right now, and that unfortunately has reaped disastrous consequences for some of its smallest niche automakers. Gumpert, Wiesmann, Artega and Lola have all filed for bankruptcy this year, and it appears that tuners are not immune to the tough times, either.
Word coming in from across the pond suggests that 9ff and SpeedArt - two of the biggest names in Porsche tuning - have filed for bankruptcy as well. 9ff is best known for the GT9, a radical hypercar barely based on the 911, while SpeedArt was once of the foremost tuners of Porsches.
Fortunately there are still plenty of tuners ready to take a wrench to your Elfen, but the reported demise of these two makes the market a little bit smaller and - for Porsche enthusiasts - maybe the world a little bit lonelier, too.

Porsche planning Cayman GT4, 700-hp Turbo S e-Hybrids

Fri, May 9 2014

The old wisdom when it came to the Porsche lineup was that the Boxster and Cayman needed to be kept in line so as not to encroach on even the lower end of the 911 range. But with the latest versions of the compact roadster and coupe, that logic has gone out the window. Especially with the introduction of the latest GTS models (pictured above). But that's not the end of the story. According to Motor Trend, Porsche is working on an even more powerful version of the Cayman that could carry the GT4 badge, positioning itself along the same lines as the 911 GT3 and GT2 – only, you know, smaller. Although our sources at Porsche would, predictably, neither confirm nor deny the report, MT has it that power could come from either a turbo-four or a more powerful flat-six, mated to the beefed-up DCT from the latest 911 GT3. A similar version of the Boxster could bring back the RS Spyder designation. That's not all Porsche is said to have in store, though. Based on the engineering that went into the 918 Spyder, Porsche could roll out a new range-topping model for the 911, Panamera and maybe even the Cayenne, packing a version of the 918's PHEV powertrain. Slotting in above the existing Turbo S variants of each model line, the new flagship models could pack 700 horsepower or more and be designated e-Hybrid in similar fashion as the 918.

Porsche offering new tire option for Carrera GT

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Let's face it: finding new tires for older cars can be challenging if tire manufacturers have stopped carrying the right sizes (this writer went through Hell to find a set of 205/60-13s). But what about tires for low-volume supercars, which use sizes that often won't fit on high-volume production vehicles? The Porsche Carrera GT isn't that old and tires are still available in the correct sizes, but the German automaker has shown its support of keeping them on the road by working with Michelin to give owners yet another tire option. Enter the Carrera GT-specific Pilot Super Sport.
It's common knowledge that tires are one of the most important pieces of the performance puzzle, and Porsche claims that the PSS tires, sized 265/35ZR-19 front and 335/30ZR-20 with Porsche's "N0" rating, will improve the Carrera GT's handling and stability all the way up to its claimed top speed of 205 miles per hour. That's important for a car with razor-sharp handling characteristics. They'll also net drivers a 10-percent increase in fuel economy on regular roads and up to 20 percent on racetracks, Porsche says.
The PSSs use cutting-edge tire technology to harness the Carrera GT's 610-horsepower. They have a dual-compound tread that's different from the inside of the tire to the outside, which, Porsche says, helps steering precision and increases maximum grip. Aramid fibers, which are lightweight but just as strong as steel, are used in the tire's belt to reduce unsprung weight.
