Up for sale is my 1974 914 Porsche 1.8 Litre. This car was going to be a restoration but ended up becoming my daily driver for the last 2.5 yrs. 95% original, I got the car from the original owner in '08. Needs work everywhere but is a mostly complete driver. If you don't like sports cars or know about Porsches this is not the car for you. Over 100,000 mls. I no longer have the means to take care of a car like this and rather than continue to wear it out I'd prefer to sell it to someone that will do it justice. It is not the typical 914 rust bucket but it does have some small areas of rust thru. It was originally a California car, then driven to Detroit where it stayed locked away in a VERY STURDY AND WEATHER PROOF garage for 17yrs before I got the car in 2008. I lost my storage in 2010 it sat outside for 1yr, Then it became my daily driver from March '11 till you buy it. Original 1.8 Litre Type 4 engine and 901 transmission. Needs SOME 'hell-hole',floor,rear trunk & right long repair. I have tried to describe this car to the best of my knowledge. I drive it everyday and some things I'm so accustomed to I may have overlooked. Please contact me with any questions. I'm not trying to short change anybody.

2015 Porsche Macan Turbo
Mon, 06 Jan 2014The misinformation first started back in May of 2007 - more than six years ago - when word came that Porsche was developing a compact utility vehicle to fill out its product line. Rumors swirled that the German automaker's future "Roxster" would be based on the then-upcoming Audi Q5. By September of 2010, the name had changed to "Cajun," but the vehicle was still expected to be "based heavily on the Audi Q5," said reports in the months that followed. One year later, the first test mules were spotted, the mechanics hidden beneath barely disguised Audi sheetmetal, which did nothing to give the upcoming model its own identity. And even after Porsche announced "Macan" as the vehicle's production name in early 2012, articles stated that it would "arrive on the same chassis as the Audi Q5, though with suspension, brake and engine tweaks suitable to the Porsche range."
It's no wonder that most still consider the all-new Porsche Macan nothing more than a heavily massaged Q5.
To help lift some of the mystery surrounding its latest release, Porsche hosted us in Germany for an in-depth look at its new crossover (while Europeans call it a "sport utility," its car platform allows us to call it a proper CUV). The technology workshop offered us insight to the design and mechanical execution, and it concluded with a short test ride. The trip was both enlightening and educational - and it left us with a whole new perspective on the Macan.
Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
Porsche Cayman GT4 looks sexy, rapid in the nude
Mon, Jan 5 2015Porsche doesn't officially have a name for its more hardcore version of the Cayman, yet. The speculation is that the coupe is called the GT4 as a little brother to the 911 GT3. However, the German sports car maker apparently is not interested in keeping the model's looks much of a secret because these latest shots show it without a hint of camouflage to speak of. The GT4 reportedly takes the GT3's ethos of more power, less weight and stickier-than-glue handling and brings it all to the Cayman. As these photos show, there's a much lower air dam up front with a cooling vent at the tip of the hood. Larger wheels are another obvious addition and are likely shod with some very sticky rubber. At the back, there's a double spoiler combining a wing and a ducktail. The power and gearbox for the GT4 remains a mystery, though. The rumor is that it uses a tuned version of the 3.4-liter flat-six in the Cayman S and GTS to make between 370 and 400 horsepower. A similar overhaul of the Boxster might be on the way, as well. A version of the convertible wearing some of the Cayman GT4's goodies was recently spotted testing. That one even had a manual transmission to make the prospects behind the wheel even more exciting.
