For sale is a rare '73 Porsche 914 wide body (fiberglass), inspired by the Porsche 914/6 GT. I bought this car with the intention of replicating the 914/6 GT famous for their wide fenders, bright colors and great race or track cars, I was looking for an old 2.0 6 cyl engine to swap with the original 4 cyl from the early 911's but they are very expensive and hard to find, since the original 2.0 4 cyl motor on this car still runs very good, why not just enjoy it! As mentioned the motor runs very strong, 5 speed shifts smoothly, Ansa high performance exhaust, Minilite wheels, upgraded brakes and suspension, comes with roll cage, mileage is unknown the speedo cable was not connected when I bought it, floors, fenders, doors, front & rear trunks and undercarriage are pretty solid, POR-15 applied on both front & rear trunks.

Overall it is a nice and unique Porsche, fun to drive around town and car shows. For serious buyers only, please leave me your contact number or email for more details and pictures.

Thanks for looking, this could be a nice addition to your car collection.

eGarage video features Helmuth Bott's personal Porsche 959 prototype

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

"We thought we were going to build a super-911," said Peter Schutz, former CEO of Porsche AG of the development of the Porsche 959. That was before it started getting expensive. At that point, Helmuth Bott, Porsche R&D director got frightened. Costs ballooned because of the all-wheel drive, sequential turbocharging and other technology Porsche had never even thought about when it set out to build a 911 to compete in Group B. Schutz continued, "The amount of resources we were committing got totally out of hand." Instead of pulling the plug, Bott doubled down and drew on the strength of his brilliant team to build a car whose impact is still echoing aross the industry.
"It's probably one of our most prized possessions" says Don Leatherwood, Director of the Brumos collection where Dr. Bott's personal prototype resides, and where Frazer Spowart went to see the car and create a video for eGarage. Check out the sights and sounds of the 959 before it was the 959, and get personal takes on the car from Hurley Haywood, Peter Schutz and Don Leatherwood. Keep reading to see the video.

Evo sets up duel of Porsche 911s

Thu, 20 Mar 2014

What's better, rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive? That question has occupied auto enthusiasts for years, and so far, we've not really had a solid answer one way or the other. Evo has opted to take another whack at this tough question by pairing a pair of Porsche 911s against each other for a track battle.
In one corner, we have the two-wheel-drive 911 Carrera S, complete with the lickity-split PDK transmission, a sports suspension and carbon-ceramic brakes. In the other corner, it's the all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4S in a much mellower spec, with a seven-speed manual, as well as standard brakes and suspension. While the results seem like they'd be a foregone conclusion, some very British weather is there to act as the great equalizer.
We've got the full video down below. Have a look, and let us know if you agree with Evo's results.

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus
