The goal was to create a tribute of the 1970 porsche 914-6 GT competition car #2 campaigned by Miles Collier that finished 1.2.3 at the Nurburing endurance race.
The car is spot on down to the paint scheme and authentic decals. This car is a real head tuner.

The signal orange PPG paint is flawless. It ought to be it cost over$10,000.00. Yes , $10,000 the paint materials alone were $2000 not to mention the hours and hours of body work necessary to create this gorgeous car.

The  Fuch style wheels really give the car that classic Porshce racer look.

The front suspension was taken from a 1973 911 (control arms, spindles, steering rack, boge struts,911 'A' calipers ,and 911 5 lug hubs. The rear suspension has upgraded Koni shocks with 930 CV's and 911 half shafts, and converted 5 lug hubs with wheel studs. The car has the right looks..

The body work is flawless. A lot of hours went into the preparation for the fiberglass and paint work. You won't be disappointed.
The fiberglass GT flares have been grafted on to the car with an attention to detail The front fiberglass bumper and valance resemble the #2 nurburgring car with its teutonic paint scheme..
The rear fiberglass bumper and stock valence round out the no nonsense look from behind. The flares are finished off with flared fiberglass rocker panel covers to finish out the gt look.

Inside the car is all business.  Once seated you grip the period correct  early 911 leather bound steering wheel and grip the walnut shift knob of the original dog legged 901 side shift
transmission. The black and blue coco matts and stock black 914 buckets round off the stark interior which is painted body color. To create that authentic competition
look a replica bolt-in GT roll bar has been installed.

The drive train is the reliable stock 914-4 engine and transmision. The car has a 1.7L 4 cylinder with original D-Jet fuel injection. The car starts up every time.
The transmission was converted from tail shift to the upgraded side shift model 901. The shifter is dialed in and shifts as well as can be. The brakes are rebuilt porsche 911 A-calipers up front with new vented rotors. The rear calipers are stock 914 rears with integrated parking brake. The car has stock stainless heat exchangers with stock muffler.

The 914 is notorious for rust and this one was an original east coast car. The previous owner completed the rust repair which consisted of replacing the rear floors and
outer longintudinals (rockers). the passenger side hell hole member was repaired at this time as well. The previous owner relocated the battery to the trunk because of the hell hole rust. I have the
parts necessary to relocate the battery to the stock location including battery bracket.

The car drives really well. The 1.7 starts right up and is suprisingly peppy. Once you hit the twisties you'll understand why the 914 is considered the 'curve meister'
The car can be converted back to a more stock appearence by removing the decals and removing the bolt in roll cage. It can also be upgraded to a vintage racer or DE
for under 2 liter historic racer class by adding a fuel cell and harness.

Another car has caught my attention hence the sale.  I am offering this car for sale elsewhere so the auction is subject to prior sale. Just took the car on a 200 mile run this past weekend 6/21 The car ran like a champ.  Please contact seller prior to bidding if you have questions about the vehicle. Don't let this one get away.

Bentley tests next next-gen Flying Spur on Porsche Panamera Turbo body

Fri, Oct 21 2016

At first glance, the prototype in the gallery above looks like a blacked-out version of the new Porsche Panamera Turbo. But this is actually Bentley's tester for the next-gen Flying Spur. And since the upcoming Flying Spur, among other Bentley vehicles, will utilize the same MSB platform as the new Porsche, seeing the British automaker using a Panamera makes a lot of sense. The Flying Spur is essentially a four-door version of the Continental GT, which has design cues from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. It's safe to assume that the next-gen Flying Spur will get the same treatment as well. Other than the fender flares, the prototype is identical to the Panamera Turbo. So how do we know that this is Bentley's prototype? According to our photographers, the prototype's license plate is registered as a Bentley with the UK's Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. With the Flying Spur sharing the same platform as the Panamera, we expect the luxury sedan to get the same choice of engines, including the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. A concept is anticipated to come out in 2017 with a production variant coming a year later. McLaren P1 squares off against Porsche 918 in Evo track battle

Fri, Nov 21 2014

Evo's side-by-side comparison of the McLaren P1 against the Porsche 918 Spyder isn't the first time we've seen England and Germany's ultimate automotive weapons sized up together; last month, Autocar tested them over the standing mile, with a Ducati 1199 Superleggera playing the joker. Evo throws a few curves at its test, though, taking the supercars to Anglesey Circuit in Wales to see which will lay down the fastest lap time with scribe Jethro Bovington at the wheel. In case the numbers haven't yet been seared into your memory, while both are assisted by electric motors, the 3,069-pound, rear-wheel drive P1 gets on with 903 horsepower and 664 pound-feet from a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. The 3,750-pound, all-wheel-drive 918 Spyder does its job with 795 hp and 575 lb-ft surging out of a naturally aspirated, 4.6-liter V8. We're not told know which circuit layout he uses for the test, but both cars comfortably eclipse the mark set by the fastest coupe Evo's driven around it so far, the Ferrari 458 Speciale. Then, in an epilogue occasioned by a tire change, one of the supercars comfortably eclipses its own time again, before Bovington declares one the master of the track and the other the ruler of the street. Enjoy finding out which is which in the video above.

Lamborghini could be sold or spun off from the Volkswagen Group

Sat, Oct 12 2019

Volkswagen is reportedly considering a sale or stock listing for its high-end Lamborghini brand. The German automaker is looking to fold the Italian supercar brand into a separate legal entity, reports Bloomberg, which cites "people familiar with the matter" who don't want to be identified "because the deliberations are confidential and no decisions have been made." Any of this sound familiar? The goal of spinning off Lamborghini would be to stockpile more cash and other resources for VW's massive planned push into electric vehicles. Back in March, reports circulated that Volkswagen's "Vision 2030" corporate plan might include plans to focus on the brand's core brands — VW, Audi and Porsche. That means the futures of fringe players like Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, motorcycle brand Ducati and design firm Italdesign (and note this isn't a comprehensive list of brand's under the expansive VW Group umbrella) are up in the air. VW, according to the report, is targeting a market value of $220 billion, which is a big jump from the brand's current $89 billion valuation. Bloomberg pegged Lamborghini's valuation at around $11 billion back in August, buoyed by sales and profits generated by the introduction of the Urus sport utility vehicle. On the flip side, Lamborghini is currently grappling with how best to update its supercar lineup in the face of ever-increasing emissions regulations.
