1970 Porsche 914-6 Vin # 9140432255 on 2040-cars
Rochester, New York, United States
This 914-6 Needs a FULL
restoration.
1970 914-6 Vin # 9140432255 Engine ser. # 6405500 (Unknown miles on engine/trans) Transmission model/ser. # 914/01 , 7502252 This is a number matching car. I can get a certificate of authenticity to verify matching numbers but it would take 6-9 weeks. The color is black metallic but looks like a dark Gray (the paint is in rough shape). The car has a set of factory steel flares installed. This car needs a lot of work but all the parts needed can be sourced to repair it properly. I've seen other 914/914-6's in worse
conditions brought back to life and this car is definitely worth saving. The value of the 914-6 has gone up in recent years and it will continue to appreciate. I know most of this car's history (from mid 80's to current). The original engine/transmission was removed from the car in 1986/87. The org. 2.0 T engine/trans ran fine when it was removed but I would recommend a refresh on both. There is Weltmiester adjustable front & rear sway bars installed. The org. front suspension was replaced with a later 911 SC 3.5'' Boge struts with the aluminum S calipers, 911 SC front aluminum crossmember, and larger mm torsion bars in the factory A-arms. The p/o made his own front adjustable caster/camber plates but should be an easy retro to the factory parts. The shocks are adjustable Koni sports front and rear with 140 lb. springs. I have a set of front & rear bumpers but they are not installed on the car. I only have the front lower bumper valance. The engine/transmission is currently out of the car but I can install it prior to shipping if needed. I know there's several parts missing from this car and will do my best to list them all. The missing parts can be found at various vendors/Porsche sites. Missing parts : (There maybe more then what's listed but this is what I know for sure) Rear calipers, engine relay board, oil tank/associated parts, carbs/intake manifolds/linkage, some interior trim pieces, all gauges, engine oil cooler, and all oil lines. Rust problems that I know of : Needs a full floor pan, right side lower firewall in engine bay, under battery tray area (aka the hell hole), right rear outer long, rear trunk pan, rear lid has rust spot, fenders in different spots, doors need to be repaired/replaced, and lower inner firewall on both sides. I inspected the inner rockers. The right side needs to be replaced and drivers side appears to be in good shape. The drivers side jack post looks like it will need to be replaced. There maybe more area's but this is what I can see. If a buyer wants to have a PPI performed (at buyers expense) I will do my best to assist with it. I will do my best to answer any questions. I will take more pics of the car and other area's upon request. The vehicle is being sold AS IS. The buyer is to arrange and pay for shipping of the vehicle. To all make sure you read add before bidding properly there are no RETURNS, car needs FULL restoration being sold AS IS. I have this listed locally and on other sites i have the right to end auction at anytime. Thanks, and happy bidding Other pictures of the car can be seen here : 914World.com - go to classifieds section, click on autos for sale on this site you will see more pictures of car and what comes with sale. |

Sunday Drive: An automotive flavor for every taste
Sun, Feb 25 2018Last week was flush with interesting new vehicle debuts, led by the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. This crossover is entering straight into the heart of one of the world's most competitive automotive segments, and it's doing so with a fresh sense of style and a brace of new technologies. Our readers are clearly intrigued – the Santa Fe was the biggest news story of the last week on these online pages. It's fitting that a crossover generated a lot more interest than a traditional wagon, though we don't really have to be happy about it. Still, the completely new, fully redesigned Volvo V60 is worth taking another look at. First of all, it's pretty, in a traditionally Scandinavian way. Second, it's quick, with a 0-60 time of as little as 4.8 seconds. And finally, it's practical, with all kinds of room for cargo without the dynamic penalties of an unnecessary lift kit. Moving on from new vehicle debuts, we took another long look at the Honda Ridgeline. It's definitely a non-conformist pickup truck, based not on a body-on-frame platform but on a more carlike unibody design. That means it can't tow as much as some other trucks, but it also means the Ridgeline drives better than any of its more truckish competitors. It's the Swiss army knife of pickup trucks. Rounding out our coverage from last week are three sets of spy photos, each showing the interior of a hotly anticipated new model. One is a truck, one is a crossover, and the last is a sportscar. All of them are worth another look. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog this week for all the most important news in the automotive world. 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe unveiled 2019 Volvo V60 | Sleek, swift new twist on the Swedish wagon 2018 Honda Ridgeline | Pocketknife pickup is up for anything 2019 GMC Sierra interior looks just like the Silverado's 2019 Cadillac XT4 interior has actual buttons, no more touch-sensitive panel 2020 Porsche 911 992 spy shots show interior and manual transmission Cadillac GMC Honda Hyundai Porsche Volvo Truck Crossover Wagon Luxury Performance Sedan hyundai santa fe
Listen to the Porsche Macan's exhaust note ahead of its LA debut
Fri, 08 Nov 2013As if we need further proof that the Porsche Macan won't just be another small CUV, it'll be a small Porsche CUV, the German automaker has released a video of the vehicle's raucous exhaust note. In short, the Macan will sport a far racier soundtrack than most of its competitors.
The raspy sound coming from one of the Macan's two turbocharged V6 engines sounds great (the video isn't clear as to whether we're listening to the base 3.0-liter or the Turbo model's 3.6-liter engine), and it's accompanied by a nice crackle on overrun. It isn't like a 911 or other flat-six model, but it is more or less what we expect a Porsche to sound like. We'll have all the details on the newest member of the Porsche lineup when it debuts later this month at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Scroll down for an official press release from Porsche, as well as the video of the Macan, and be sure to turn your speakers up.
Consumer Reports declares most and least loved cars [w/video]
Wed, Dec 3 2014Consumer Reports is crunching the numbers from its annual owner-satisfaction survey, and part of that process is finding out how attached drivers are to their cars. CR simply asks readers of models up to three years old if they would buy the same vehicle again in light of their entire ownership experience, and tallies the results. After looking at the responses for about 350,000 vehicles, it turns out that people really love a certain California-built, electrically powered luxury sedan. That's right, this year's the overall winner was the Tesla Model S with a whopping 98 percent of owners saying they would purchase another one (the Model S also won this award last year, with 99 percent satisfaction). The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray came in a close second with 95 percent of drivers hoping to park another one in their garage. A few models weren't quite so favored, though. The Nissan Versa Sedan was the least loved model among its owners; a mere 42 percent said that they would purchase another. The aging Jeep Compass didn't do much better, with just 43 percent of drivers willing to buy the softroader again. On average, about 70 percent of owners say they would buy their car again, and only four cars ranked below 50 percent in CR's findings. Check out the video above to see some of the winners and losers in a few of CR's categories. If you're a subscriber, you can check out the full list on its website.
