My lifetime California driven 912E must go. Head turner. It is beautiful and it is going UP in value! Porsche billed it as the "long distance sports car" because of its 30MPG plus on the 20-gallon tank.

CA registration paid through May 12, 2014. Vehicle will be CA smog certified prior to delivery as well. (I just got back from vacation and will be here until the auction closes.)

My fix priced auction just ended. I received 10 offers. 8 of these offers were from $13,500 to $15,000. I refused these offers but am now resigned to selling to the highest bidder rather than my fixed price. If and when you sell the vehicle you will make money. Something you won't do with a Camry!

Fun to drive! Will go anywhere. People love the car.

I am an older guy, downsizing and selling extra vehicles. I have babied this car! It is unmolested.

This is an exceptional example. The 912E was only manufactured in 1976 with 2055 built worldwide. This is number 70. Rare with original sunroof (only about 500 of the 2055 came with the factory sunroof).

Upon purchasing the car I spent just over $3000 on a complete rebuild of the sunroof cables and gears, along with all fuel lines, filters, struts to hold up the hood and all other small items needed. I had the work done at my Porsche shop, KB Motorsports, in San Marcos CA. Kip treats me well and has looked after me for years. I asked him to drive it himself and suggest any repairs. He recommended the fuel lines as a precaution, they were not leaking but older and beginning to discolor. The receipts for these two services done in 2011 with 148065 on the odometer will accompany the car.

This car Drives GREAT. Tight turning, no suspension noises, rolls beautifully down the road. Could be driven anywhere. The clutch is perfect. The transmission hits the gates cleanly and shifts nicely. The motor was recently rebuilt according to Kip and is stock. It runs perfectly.

The car is exceptional because it is nearly 38 years old and has no rust or rot. There is no rust underneath, nor in the trunk, cabin or engine bay. No rust near the battery, floor pans etc. No rust. No rot. See pictures.

I took the carpets out in the front just so I could show you pictures of the floor pans etc. The floor boards are pristine as you can see. The carpets are original and exceptional. I had them professionally cleaned and are back in the car.

This 912E has never been in an accident and shows no bodywork. It is straight, rolls and corners as stock when new. I have posted pictures in the trunk with the factory carpet pulled up. No repairs of rust, nor accident damage. All clean and original. The 912E has the same same body, suspension, brakes and 5-speed transmission as the 911 Coupe, with the only difference being the 4-cylinder motor instead of the slightly larger 6 of the 911.

I bought the car from original owner's wife (through a second party). I have driven it about twice a month since I have owned it.
Recently rebuilt motor - according to my Porsche shop (KB Motorsport in San Marcos CA), who checked it out when I bought it two or so years ago. I changed all the fuel lines simply to insure no fire issues and repaired the sunroof as stated. Adjusted valves etc. I have put almost 1000 miles on the vehicle in 2 years).

The original numbers are matching, completely stock motor. Engine # 4060033 as first shipped from the factory. Original transmission as well.

Also very interesting. This vehicle is currently insured by AAA as a "Classic Car". In order to be insured AAA has to inspect a vehicle and appraise it to have at least a $15,000 value (they won't insure it if it is worth less.) Also, it must be driven less than 5,000 miles a year for their insurance. Also, it must be 100% garaged when not in use. Here is what is AWESOME!  This car appraised, has been driven only 500 miles a years since I owned it, has been garaged day and night. Best of all I pay $100 per year for full insurance including replacement value. That is all the AAA Classic Insurance costs!

14 inch factory wheels. Recent tires with tons of tread.

California car since new. Originally delivered to Trivale Porsche Audi in Stockton CA on 10/30/1975. Serviced there each 5000 miles through the 75000 miles limit of the warranty book and beyond. I have no receipts except the service log for the first 75,000 miles and my receipts from less than 1000 miles ago. I did not meet the wife and am told she could not locate the paperwork.

The inside is near perfect, far better than you could dream for a 38-year old car unless it was fully restored. Cinnamon Leatherette Rear seats, the front seats have been resurfaced in an approximate color, the carpet in the cabin and in the trunk are all excellent, as is the dash (with a very tiny tear near vent on passenger side.)

Engine and tranny are rock solid. Accelerates and shifts smoothly. Clutch is very good as well.

No AC. AC is a rare option on this car. This unit did not come with it.

Paint is refreshed in close to if not original color. Looks very nice. This is not the seals off $20,000 factory showroom paint. It is a nice seals on spray in a Chocolate brown. No chipping (excepting two or so tiny spots, but we are talking spec sized and few. Maybe three years old paint but still very good (could have been done a week ago). It is a sharp car which gets constant attention from passers by.

The glass is original and perfect.

Known defects:

Very small tear in dash near vent outlet (I didn't see if for a long time because it isn't really visible from driver position.)
The front seats are slightly different color than rear.
I didn't notice until I had the material ordered to repair the drivers seat stitching etc. which is being done today. Rear seats are original and slightly lighter color than front seats. The factory leather seats according to the experts (Autos International, which deals in Porsche interiors. They are located in Escondido,Ca 760-737-3565 or email www.porschetopsandinteriors.netdid not match the rear seats either which were still done in the leatherette even when leather seating was chosen for the front seats. Hence, this is not a big deal but I thought I would mention it. The leatherette is no longer available or I would have covered the seats to match. The original factory leather can still be matched. About $850 per seat.
The heater does produce much heat. I only drive it lightly in spring and summer so I haven't needed a heater here is San Diego.
The Radio appears original but doesn't work, neither does the antenna.
The paint is very nice, but it was a seals in paint. If you wanted a concourse vehicle you would repaint with the glass and metal off the car with the original 1976 Porsche paint. This car gets high praise on close inspection, however, it is not a $20,000 paint job, just a good refinish.

Comes with one Key and original manuals.

Porsche 911 GT2 caught testing, is super bad

Thu, 27 Jun 2013

Look what spy photographers have spotted sprinting around the Nürburgring. Our shooters nabbed a few photos of the all-new Porsche 911 GT2 in its native habitat without any of the bulky camouflage or cladding we're used to seeing. The result is our first truly clear view at the upcoming successor to the GT2 throne. From the looks of it, the new model will boast wider fender arches front and rear, and hefty air intakes set into the machine's hips should help feed a beastly 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine. Early guesses put the engine output somewhere around 560 horsepower.
Mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine should propel this rear-engined heathen to 62 miles per hour in under three seconds. Top speed? Try somewhere around 200 mph. If that's true, the next-generation 911 GT2 will be the fastest 911 in Porsche history.

Porsche 911 already testing next refresh

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The latest Porsche 911 may still be a newer car, but that hasn't stopped the German company from starting development of a facelifted version of the rear-engined sports car, testing in what looks like southern Europe.
Due to hit the market in 2015, our spies think what we're seeing here is the new GTS variant, which, following the evolution of the last-generation 911, will make its debut on the facelifted car. Featuring the wider rear haunches of the all-wheel-drive Carrera 4, the GTS should enjoy a slight power boost, to 408 ponies.
Aesthetically, there are some additional vents in the rear bodywork, along with a revised front bumper and tweaked day-time running lights. The taillights get some attention as well, and will likely grow over the current car's skinny rear lamps.

Magnus Walker soliloquizes in his Porsche 911 at night

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Magnus Walker, a prolific Los Angeles clothing designer who has also carved out a respected spot for himself in Porsche world, has had yet another video made about him and his sizable Porsche collection. In this latest video, Hong Kong-based Obscura magazine focuses its video cameras on Walker and his 1971 Porsche 911 track car (yes, the one that appeared on Jay Leno's Garage) as he speeds around Downtown LA and Little Tokyo late at night.
We've heard Walker's story many times before. He's not like the average Porsche owner, perhaps a tad more passionate than most, and he builds 911s like he designs clothes: his way. Sure, we might be a little envious, but can you blame us? View this very slick and entertaining nighttime video entitled Disturbing The Peace below.
