Up for auction is a beautiful 1976 Porsche 912 E. I am listing this for a friend of mine and while I can tell you the car is awesome, all questions can be asked and I will forward his response. You can also call the owner at 856-265-6378 and ask for Bob.

The following is his explanation of the Porsche.

  • 1976 Porsche 912E
  • 5 Speed Manual Transmission
  • Original 2 liter, Fuel Injected Opposed 4 Cylinder (Boxer) engine
  • The engine and Transaxle were rebuilt approximately 60,000 miles ago
  • Upgraded stereo with CD player
  • Upgraded RS Door Panels
  • Upgraded "Fuch" style wheels (Original Wheels go with car)
  • Air Conditioning
Car is in excellent cosmetic and running condition. The car received a full paint job this past summer and is rust free. Looks better in person. The interior is in excellent condition as well as can be seen in the pictures.

I have owned this car for 3 years and I am the second owner. The car was pampered by the original owner and I followed suite. If you are looking for a 912, this car should be on your list. You will not be disappointed. The ONLY reason I am selling the Porsche is my wife wants something a little newer, otherwise I would NOT be selling.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or to inspect the car. Thank you.

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

Wed, 29 Jan 2014

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.

Listen to the Porsche Macan's exhaust note ahead of its LA debut

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

As if we need further proof that the Porsche Macan won't just be another small CUV, it'll be a small Porsche CUV, the German automaker has released a video of the vehicle's raucous exhaust note. In short, the Macan will sport a far racier soundtrack than most of its competitors.
The raspy sound coming from one of the Macan's two turbocharged V6 engines sounds great (the video isn't clear as to whether we're listening to the base 3.0-liter or the Turbo model's 3.6-liter engine), and it's accompanied by a nice crackle on overrun. It isn't like a 911 or other flat-six model, but it is more or less what we expect a Porsche to sound like. We'll have all the details on the newest member of the Porsche lineup when it debuts later this month at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Scroll down for an official press release from Porsche, as well as the video of the Macan, and be sure to turn your speakers up.

Porsche 911 to drop naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine

Thu, May 28 2015

Rumors that the next-generation Porsche 911 will be completely divorced from naturally aspirated engines are picking up steam. Now, Road & Track is reporting that not only will the next 911, code-named 992, have a turbo-only engine lineup, but that the base Carrera and Carrera S will add the force-induced flat sixes as part of a facelift later this year. R&T only cites "sources familiar with the project," which claim that turbocharged flat-sixes will be at the core of the 992's engine range, alongside a plug-in-hybrid model. A four-cylinder 911 remains unlikely. What's most surprising, though, is how soon Porsche will introduce a turbocharged base-car lineup. Road & Track claims the blown flat-sixes will be added as part of a facelift coming before year's end. Perhaps unwilling to risk the further ire of purists, the current car's seven-speed manual transmission will continue to be sold, alongside the company's excellent PDK automatic transmission. As for when this facelift will happen, the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September seems like the most obvious date.
