HISTORY

ONE OF THE LAST PORSCHE 912'S BUILT, PURCHASED ON JULY 17, 1969 AT CARRIAGE MOTORS, COLUMBUS, OHIO.

The car had three owners, the last owner bought the car in 1982 with appoximately 56,000 miles. I purchased the car from the last owner in 2012. He was a friend of mine and was getting up in years to drive a manual. I have a clear Ohio title from when he bought the car in 1982. We have the maintanence booklets and the owners manual documenting the car.

CONDITION

Great car, no rust in any of the pans, headlight buckets, floor boards, or trunk area. The car has the desirable Slate Gray color with about 30% still original paint. The door jams, trunk, and hood area still shows original paint. Good patina, interior is all original with the seats looking very nice with no rips. The dash has a recovered dash and still looks very good, but not original. The radio has been replaced with a CD player, and the speakers are on the rear deck, but no holes have ever been cut into the panel or the side pockets.

The car now has brand new weber carbs, and the original solex carbs and air cleaners come with the car. The car has new tires and Fuchs wheels (6 X15) and a steel spare. I have ordered the COA from Porsche and it will confirm the options and matching numbers of the car. The car has a after market exhaust, I would install the factory exhaust to the car to make it original. The body panels are very nice, good caps, the passenger door seems to have been hit years ago, and could have been repaired. My friend never did any of these changes to the car since he owned it or never been hit. The lenses on the car are from a 1973 Porsche and this car should have the clear edge design, very minor change.

CAR IS SOLD AS IS WHERE IS AND THE BUYER HAS TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR SHIPMENT. NO WARRANTY WITH THE CAR AND ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Please make arrangements to see the car before the auction ends. All sales are final and I expect serious bidders. The car is very rare being one of the las 912's plus its condition as being very original. Thanks for looking.

A NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $1,000 USD TO PAYPAL WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUSTION END, BALANCE BANK TRANSFERE WITHIN 4 DAYS.

Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

An Iconic Sports Car, Restored to Seduce
I have been strapped behind the iconic Momo Prototipo steering wheel for a little more than an hour, all windows down as I carve my way up a rugged canyon during an unusually warm Southern California evening, and I am overwhelmed with emotion. My heart is pounding out of my chest, my breathing is heavy and my palms are sweaty because I am completely absorbed by this wondrous machine.
After waiting patiently for nearly four years, I am finally behind the wheel of a classic Porsche 911 restored, modified and tuned by Singer Vehicle Design. The vehicle that surrounds me never rolled off an automaker's assembly line in its current configuration, yet its physical appearance is timeless, build quality breathtaking and driving dynamics peerless.

Matthias Muller officially named VW Group CEO

Fri, Sep 25 2015

While the vast number of rumors made it seem like a foregone conclusion, Porsche boss Matthias Muller has officially been named Volkswagen Group CEO to replace the recently resigned Martin Winterkorn. His contract runs through the end of February 2020, and until a replacement is found, Muller also gets to hang onto his old job as chairman of Porsche. At the same time, the VW Group Supervisory Board is announcing a massive structural reorganization across the entire company, with the new management model in place by the beginning of 2016. Contrary to previous rumors, Michael Horn remains as President and CEO of VW Group of America. The board wants a greater emphasis on brands and regions going forward, and the scale of this shift can be seen in the US. On November 1, VW Group business in the US, Mexico, and Canada is being combined under the leadership of current Skoda chairman Winfried Vahland. However contrary to previous rumors, Michael Horn remains as President and CEO of VW Group of America. Other brands are also seeing some significant changes mechanically. Porsche, Bentley, and Bugatti now fall under the Group's "sportscar and mid-engine toolkit." This means that the brands will start sharing standardized technical parts. A Chief Technical Officer across all of the company's brands will also start working toward future innovations. The new brand-centric view means the end of a group-wide production department. "Going forward, the brands and regions will also have greater independence with regard to production. So it follows that they should also hold the responsibility for these activities," Berthold Huber, interim Chairman of the Supervisory Board, said in the announcement. In a statement with the press release about his promotion, Muller promised to turn the company around after such an international crisis. He said: "My most urgent task is to win back trust for the Volkswagen Group – by leaving no stone unturned and with maximum transparency, as well as drawing the right conclusions from the current situation. Under my leadership, Volkswagen will do everything it can to develop and implement the most stringent compliance and governance standards in our industry." Matthias Muller appointed CEO of the Volkswagen Group Muller remains Chairman of Porsche AG until a successor has been found Matthias Muller (62) has been appointed CEO of Volkswagen AG with immediate effect.

Porsche Macan fails moose test, Stuttgart responds

Tue, 14 Oct 2014

Different countries have different safety standards, but most of them revolve around a similar set of tests: front impact, side impact, offset impact, rollover... the usual. But Sweden has its own test. It's called the Moose Test (or the Elk Test), and it's unique to Scandinavia: a car has to be able to avoid a theoretical antlered mammal on the road while traveling at 43.5 miles per hour and return to its previous course without flipping over. The Jeep Grand Cherokee ran afoul of the uniquely Nordic maneuver a couple of years ago, but even more surprising is the way the Porsche Macan has reacted.
Under testing by Sweden's Teknikens Värld, Porsche's downsized crossover - specifically the Macan S Diesel, for what it's worth - didn't flip over, but it skidded off course. In real-world conditions, it follows, the vehicle could run off the road or into oncoming traffic. The testers ran the test several times, and even removed excess weight from the vehicle, and each time it reacted the same way.
In response, Porsche has explained that the behavior is the result of its Active Rollover Protection system kicking in. When the system detects that the vehicle could drastically oversteer, flip over or lose its tire, it momentarily applies the brake on the front outside wheel, allowing the vehicle to shed the cornering forces without losing it completely.
