Welcome. You are bidding on 1968 Porsche 912 sunroof coupe. This car has been in storage for sometime and off the road since the 90's. It comes with New York clean registration and no title as they were not issued for cars this old. Please take a look at the pictures and read the description. Should you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Here is a link with 50 additional pictures.  http://s263.photobucket.com/user/MrBMW2002/library/1968Sunroof912

Exterior: The original color of this car was 6803 which was Ossi Blue. It has been repainted black. It comes with fiberglass fenders, front bumper and rear bumper. This car appears to have a new suspension pan put in. They did not do the best of job, but it is solid now. This car has RS fiberglass flares in the rear. This car came with a factory sunroof, however it does not work. The motor works, but the roof does not move.

Interior: This car still has its original dash, gauges, door panels etc. It has a set of aftermarket sport seats that are actually pretty comfortable. There is an assortment of extra gauges that all work.

Engine/Transmission: This car was upgraded to the 915 transmission and Chevrolet 350 v8. The engine does start up and idle, however it needs a thorough tune-up before a drive. It would easily be able to be driven onto a transport trailer. I am not sure if this transmission has LSD or not.

Wheels/Suspension: This car has real 16x6 and 16x7 Fuchs wheels. They are in good shape and the tires all hold air. This car appears to have RSR or a heavy duty rear suspension.

Overall: This is a great chance to get into an early SWB long hood Porsche. This car is rather rare due to the wonderful Ossi Blue color and factory sunroof. I am happy to answer any questions you may have.

2014 Porsche Cayman S

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

Second Fiddle Moves To First Chair
In the interest of full disclosure and a bit of bloodletting, allow me to admit that while I've always coveted the Porsche Boxster and its hard-hatted Cayman cousin, I've never really warmed to them visually. They've always had a certain push-me, pull-you, can't-decide-which-way-they're-going aesthetic that I've never really wrapped my head around. Porsche achieved the same thing with the original 550 Spyder's overturned bathtub bodyshell that would come to inspire the Boxster, but somehow that classic's even more symmetrical nature works for me. Fast-forward to this third generation, and at least for this enthusiast, Porsche's manchild has well and truly come of age as a design.
It's all there - a piercing stare thanks to squircle headlamps inspired by the 918 Spyder hypercar, newfound directional thrust afforded by a longer wheelbase and elongated greenhouse, and muscular rear haunches with a wider stance emphasized by larger side ductwork and snubbed overhangs. The body's teardrop shape terminates with an active spoiler that integrates into a gorgeous arc with the taillamps like a budding ducktail nod to 1973 911 Carrera RS. Despite casting a longer shadow than its predecessor, the 2014 Cayman still looks tidily proportioned, smooth and wieldy, the perfect skipping stone to ricochet down a canyon river road.

Porsche prioritizes 200,000-unit sales target over exclusivity [w/poll]

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Would a Porsche still be a Porsche if it weren't as exclusive? That's the question which industry pundits are asking - and customers may soon as well - as the German automaker emerges from the fringe in pursuit of larger volumes.
A dozen years ago Porsche was barely selling over 50,000 units per annum. In a sales surge that has gathered pace as fast as a 911 Turbo, however, it was already hovering around the 100,000-unit mark a few years later. Last year it sold over 160,000, and has targeted 200,000 units by 2018. But it may not even take that long.
Automotive News reports that Porsche has advanced its targets to reach for 200,000 units by the end of this year or the next. The bump in sales would be driven particularly by the introduction of the new Macan, of which it aims to sell 50,000 units annually, starting next year. The Cayenne currently stands far and away as its most successful model. The 911 and Panamera have swapped second place a few times over the past five years, followed by the Boxster and Cayman.

Porsche looks back on very first 911 Turbo

Wed, 11 Jun 2014

Porsche has really hit on a winning formula with its series of videos going inside its vault. So far, we've seen the V8 911 prototype, mid-engine test mule and aerodynamic prototype. The company is sticking with the 911 theme in the latest entry, but this time it's an actual production car - the very first 911 Turbo ever made.
Being the first Turbo would make it important enough, but the car was also a birthday present for Louise Piëch, daughter of Ferdinand Porsche and sister to Ferry Porsche, and she regularly used the car. The family didn't just hand her a random car off the assembly line, either. She got to make it her own with some interesting modifications. She supposedly even painted landscapes from inside the car.
You have to wonder what Piëch thought of her present. The early Turbos had a reputation for being a bit of a handful to drive. The boost tended to bring the power all at once, which wasn't always welcome when cornering. She deserves some honor just for driving the car on the curvy, alpine roads. Scroll down to learn about this important Porsche, and we can't wait to see what car the brand showcases next.
