California Dreamin'

If you are looking at this car I don't need to tell you how rare it is or the history of one of Porsche's most reliable cars ever made.    The prices on these are on the rise and giving early 911's a run for their money.

What this car has that almost no one has is the ORIGINAL Service book!    It confirms the Engine and Chassis #'s plus has all of the service stamped through 42,000 miles to help back up the fact that the miles are actual.  This car was raised in Sunny California and still wears the California plates.   I think it needs to go back to a good home in California to live out it days.

Here are some of the details:

1967 Porsche 912
Deluxe Model
5 Guage
5 Speed
15in Fuchs
Dual Weber Carbs
New Bridgestone Tires
Beautiful wood Porsche Steering Wheel
Under the front hood is extremely clean and rust free.
Original Spare and Original Jack
Interior is Immaculate - looks fully restored
Awesome Stereo with iPod hook up for endless music
Exterior is Rust Free - paint shines nicely with a few blemishes/chips/dings
Engine bay is Extremely Clean and leak free
Koni Adjustable Shocks

I have owned Porsche's of all years and models and I can honestly say that this one runs and drives as well if not better than even some of the newer 911's.   The motor purrs, the body is tight,  there are no squeeks or rattles.  It drives straight down the road at 75mph.   All the guages work including the clock (doesn't quite keep accurate time).

I will truly be sad to see this one go but I need to free up some cash as I have too many cars in my collection.

The car is in my garage under a soft cover in Kansas City.   You could drive this car cross country if you want or I can ship it to you.  Don't miss out on this one - there aren't many left like this one.

Porsche's baby Panamera delayed until 2019 or later

Tue, 15 Jul 2014

If you're enticed by the idea of a Porsche sedan but find the Panamera to be too big, your hopes may have been raised by the development of the so-called Pajun. But don't get those hopes up too much, because the latest word coming in from the Old World has it that the Panamera Junior has been delayed.
The Pajun was (and theoretically still is, despite tardiness) a project to apply to the Panamera the same winning formula that Porsche used to transmute the Cayenne into the smaller Macan. Its size would be closer to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class than the larger Panamera, and employ an array of six-cylinder engines.
The smaller five-door was set to be the cornerstone of Porsche Product Strategy 2018, a plan that included several new models to be launched within the next four years. However, reports now indicate that the Volkswagen Group is counting on Porsche to help bolster its profits and is not keen on investing in new products at this time, pushing the Pajun and other projects back until 2019 at the earliest. Although much of the strategy remains undisclosed, it is believed to include (or have included) a sub-Boxster sports car and a supercar to slot in between the 911 and the 918 Spyder. There was also talk of a shooting brake version of the Panamera based on the Sport Turismo concept pictured above. What will become of those projects, however, remains to be seen.

GoPro checks out Tokyo's automotive night life in 4K

Thu, Nov 6 2014

There's something bizarrely fascinating about Japanese car culture, especially around Tokyo. The metropolis packs people tightly together in a way that would seem to make owning any car tough. And yet, there's still enough enthusiasm around anything with an engine to support everything from wildly tuned bosozoku rides with exhaust pipes reaching toward the sky to seriously fast Porsche and Lamborghini models. To promote its latest Hero4 camera, GoPro has embarked on a short film series called Adventure of Life in 4K, and the latest installment goes inside Japan's speed scene with some gorgeous cinematography of vibrant vehicles rocketing through the city. It's all mixed over more serene images of Tokyo landscapes that combine to form a mini-documentary that's a feast for the eyes. Porsche to replace chassis components in 918 Spyders

Tue, Dec 23 2014

The entire production run of the Porsche 918 Spyder is completely sold out, but 205 of them need to make a trip to the dealer for a repair estimated to take about two days. According to Porsche, it found quality problems with unspecified "chassis components" on the hybrid supercar and has instituted a plan to fix them as a precautionary measure. There were no reported breakages of these parts or complaints from customers. The German automaker already contacted all of the affected owners directly to have the 918s repaired in 2015. When reached for comment, Porsche Director of Corporate Communications Achim Schneider told Autoblog via email that "due to the supplier relationship we did not announce further details regarding the components so far." He also said that 43 vehicles are affected in North America, which includes the US and Canada. The 918 Spyder was affected by a small recall in the US earlier this year when Porsche found that the rear-axle control arms could potentially break. The campaign covered only five cars, though. Porsche replaces chassis components in 205 vehicles worldwide Atlanta. As a precautionary measure, Porsche will replace chassis components in 205 vehicles of the 918 Spyder model worldwide. The reason for this is that for vehicles that were manufactured in a certain time period defective parts were used from a delivery batch, whose functionality cannot be permanently guaranteed. No complaints have been made known (such as a break of a component) from customers up till now. The problem was identified during in-house quality inspections and remedied immediately. The owners of the vehicles, which could be exactly traced, were contacted directly by their competent Porsche representatives. The workshop visit, which will take place by appointment at the onset of 2015, takes about two days to complete at no charge.
