1966 Porsche 912. Fresh Paint Job on 2040-cars
McDonough, Georgia, United States
For sale is an restored 1966 Porsche 912. I purchased this car in 2004 and had it RESTORED and GARAGED in WARM weather ever since. The paint job is still new and glistening like its' first day off the factory line. I am getting rid of the car only because I have recently fell ill and can no longer afford the car's up keep. The car has the original Porsche engine from the factory still in use, with the only modification being an electric fuel pump replacing the original gasoline fuel pump. Inside the car you will find a neatly up kept interior still intact with the only defect being the driver side door handle and window handle crank. We will provide you with both parts which can be easily mounted back into placed. The rims on the car are also original and the tires are fairly new.
This car will make a great piece for an addition to any car collection CAR ONLY DRIVE 1 - 3 TIMES PER YEAR IN WARM AND NON-RAINING WEATHER !!!! !! 24 Hours of Le Mans an on-and-off love affair
Mon, 24 Jun 2013There was little usual about this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans - intermittent rain in the weeks before the race meant cars didn't get on track as much as they wanted, and intermittent rain during the race meant cars went off track a lot more than they wanted. The race started with a wet track, and one of the records broken because of the random downpours was the number of times the safety car led the field - 11 times this year - although the record of two hours and 53 minutes of lapping behind the safety car, set in 2011, was not eclipsed.
None of that served to dampen the action. With little more than an hour left in the race there were cars still only a few seconds apart fighting for position, leads still changing because of pit stops and everyone drafting anyone they could.
Things didn't go the usual way up front, either - well, not exactly...
Ex-F1 driver Mark Webber has tough life, shakes down Porsche 911 GT3 RS
Fri, Apr 24 2015It's good work if you can get it, and Mark Webber has got it. The works driver for the Porsche World Endurance Championship Team was apparently asked to moonlight in a video shoot for the company's new 911 GT3 RS at the Nurburgring Nordschleife, and what do you know, he complied. They don't appear to be going too quickly, and a racing driver asked to rein in what will be one of the most blistering cars we'll see this year must be very serious work, because Webber doesn't appear to be smiling at all. We'll guess there's a big smile on the inside, though, and some tales to tell to his Porsche teammates at the next WEC race. Maybe the next time we see the 911 GT3 RS at the 'Ring, it will be doing the timed lap we're all waiting for. Related Video:
Our hats are off to Porsche's 2014 911 Turbo Cabriolets
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Porsche has just debuted its two latest decapitated rocket sleds today at the LA Auto Show, the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet and Turbo S Cabriolet, which share their coupe counterparts' 520-horsepower and 560-hp 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engines. That kind of power ought separate a lot of hats (and toupees!) from heads.
The rear-engined Porsches put their power down through all four wheels, which allows them to launch from 0-60 in 3.3 seconds or less (the Turbo S Cab takes just 3.1 seconds), and both of them top out at 195 mph.
The 911 Turbo Cabriolet starts at $160,700, while the Turbo S Cabriolet can be had for a grand total of $193,900 (plus $950 for destination). Is the S model's 40 extra horsepower worth $33,200? We're not so sure, but we imagine Porsche won't have any trouble selling it.
