Hard to find original 1987, Targa.  Low mileage, same owner 18 years.  Same mechanic 18 years.  This car is near perfect with under 50,000 miles.  The car has just been serviced by Autobahn Extremist (it is the first customer of this nationally renowned shop in Rocky River, Ohio).  On March 13, 2013, all four tires were replaced, the oil and the brake fluid were changed.  The car was inspected and no issues were found.  It is ready for spring enjoyment.

Cosmetically the car has completly original paint and leather.  The leather shows minor wear on the door handle pulls.  The seats show no wear.  The carpets are excellent. The weatherstrip on the driver's door shows light wear.  The targa top is excellent.  The exterior paint is excellent with a few stone chips.  There is a small ding in the front valance panel.  There is a nick near the left rear tire. There is a small ding in the front hood and one on the engine compartment.

What makes this car standout is the originality....the never used tool roll is in place, the air compressor is present and perfect, the manuals are all present, the original sticker is included.  The courtesy gloves for changing the spare are present and unopened.

These air-cooled, and particularly G50 cars are appreciating.  This car represents a great opportunity to enjoy an unmolested original that will likely appreciate. The only needs to make this car show perfect are to detail the paint and attend to the dings.  This car is a superb driver and is one of the best air cooled Porsches ever offered.  Take a look at 911 S prices and get a better understanding of the upside on this car. This car can be driven and enjoyed now as it is.  Later, detail it for show and investment.

There are less expensive cars on the market.  This car offers hard to find originallity.  With the price of parts and labor one could easily surpass this price with a lower quality non-original car being restored to factory original.

Pre purchase inspections are encouraged.  Should you have questions please call 216.570.6034.

Playboy reveals its 2013 Cars of the Year

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

Vaunted men's magazine Playboy knows that its readers are nearly as interested in cars as they are in the female anatomy... sorry, we thought we could write that with a straight face. Anyway, the buff-book does occasionally fill some of its spreads with sexy metal, to accent all the rest of the sexiness.
To wit, the magazine has unveiled its feature on the 2013 Cars of the Year. Without giving us much in the way of criteria for the awards, nor a clear framing of the categories ("Responsible Ride" is a particularly challenging concept, especially when you consider that the Mazdaspeed3 was the winner), Playboy has nevertheless highlighted what we assume to be it's favorite 12 or 13 (depending on how you count) cars from the 2013 model year.
Headlining the class is the Porsche 911, which Playboy writers single out for having "remarkable electronic voodoo." BMW M5 is named "Slickest Sports Sedan" though the Cadillac ATS then follows on because "we couldn't resist giving the new Caddy a shout-out." The rest of the picks are pretty conventional (save, perhaps, the Honda Fit EV as "Ace Electric"), even if the categories and methodology are fairly wonky. Cruise through or gallery for a taste or check out the full list, here. The site is safe for work, and you can legitimately (this time) say that you were reading it for the articles.

Porsche revisits its remarkable SC East African Safari rally car

Wed, 09 Jul 2014

Porsche and motorsports just seem to go hand-in-hand. The brand has defined itself by its ability to compete on the track with the concept that racing bred better road cars. While we are used to seeing 911s speeding along circuits around the world, the rear-engine icon's success in rallying is somewhat less well known. The Porsche Museum aims to fix that by highlighting a 911 SC that competed in the 1978 East African Safari Rally.
The 911 rally car definitely projects a '70s vibe. You wouldn't see too many racecars with a pink brush bar sliding through the stages these days, but it looks amazing. Its bank of spotlights and two, giant, hood-mounted horns definitely give away the car's purpose. Best of all, that fantastic Martini livery defines the looks of Porsche racers from this era.
The 911 SC performed well in the East African Safari Rally, but some suspension damage meant that this particular one never raced again. It's been a part of the Porsche Museum ever since. Scroll down to learn a little more about one part of the brand's off-road legacy.

The 11 best scenes from the 2015 Goodwood Festival of Speed

Tue, Jun 30 2015

Over the last three days, the Goodwood Estate has played home to the eponymous Festival of Speed. Thrown by the biggest gearhead in the British aristocracy – Charles Gordon-Lennox, the Earl of March and Kinrara – the Festival of Speed is essentially a tremendous, gasoline-fuelled party, complete with a very large lawn sculpture, that features the world's hottest, weirdest, fastest, and loudest race, production, and historic models. While there are quite literally dozens and dozens of videos from the event – not to mention the full-day replays (of which only day one is available, at present) – we've sifted through them to pluck away the very best. There's stuff from the official Goodwood YouTube channel, as well as several videos from automakers and other third-party channels, and it's all available below. 2015 Ford Mustang GT350R Looks Barely Controllable If you thought the highest-performance Ford Mustang would somehow get more tractable or civilized once it moved to an independent rear suspension, this video shows you have nothing to worry about. Watch as an unnamed driver wrestles the new Shelby GT350R and its flat-plane, 5.2-liter V8 up the hillclimb circuit. Even with the new suspension and sticky tires, this Mustang wants to go any direction but straight, especially following its launch. 2016 Ford Focus RS, Is Very Loud, Blue Ken Block makes his first appearance on our list. Before he steps into his Hoonicorn Mustang, though, the Gymkhana expert tackled the hill in the all-new Focus RS. The vicious bellow of the 2.3-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder is the star of this commentary-free video, although the gorgeous Nitrous Blue paint job is a nice accompaniment, as well. 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn Runs Hill, Nearly Kills Lord March Mr. Block's two runs behind the wheel of the Hoonicorn were, unsurprisingly, very eventful. While one attempt goes off without a hitch, seeing the American rally driver slip and slide his way to the top of the hill while taking a short break for a donut, the other is slightly more dramatic. Block, along with Lord March in the passenger seat, carries a bit too aggressive an angle into a turn and nearly puts the NASCAR-powered Mustang into the hay bales. Check out the first video above, and the second one below. Kimi Raikkonen Makes Us Miss F1's V8 Era The latest Formula One cars have been maligned for the lackluster noise produced by the new 1.6-liter, turbocharged V6.
