Pretty In Pink Pristine Porsche 2000 Customized 996 One Of A Kind on 2040-cars
Norfolk, Virginia, United States
Pretty in Pink! What unbelievable "WOW" factor! This car is a beauty!!!! A star at Porsche club events...she offers the unique opportunity to possess a Porsche that demands attention and admiration. Are you worthy of her? Her body has been painted pearl pink and has never seen a rain drop. Simply immaculate! Her customized paint job took several months to complete as the body was carefully completely disassembled and painted, and we have all of the photographs to prove it as the paint shop took immense pride in this project and chronicled the job for a story in a local magazine. She has been customized with a GT-3 Spoiler, Turbo Rear Bumper and Side and Front Rockers. Absolutely beautiful! She also has a matching pink hard top for those colder days. The pink hard top does have some scratches. We purchased her in 2007 with 28,000 miles. We painted and customized her exterior, which now has less than 34,000 miles today. Her convertible top works great and she runs extremely well. We upgraded her interior with a Pioneer GPS/DVD/i-Pod/Satellite radio system. The tires are in fair shape and the only issue we know of is that the handle for the trunk release is missing the top, but it works perfectly fine in its capacity to open the trunk. Her interior is in excellent condition and has white gauges and heated seats. Former Porsche CEO Wiedeking indicted over VW takeover bid
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Do you recall the failed efforts by Porsche to take over Volkswagen? According to a Bloomberg report, former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (above) and ex-CFO Holger Haerter have finally been charged with market manipulation over the exercising of options as part of the German sportscar manufacturer's ill-fated attempt to take over the much larger VW. That failed bid eventually resulted in the reverse coming true - VW swallowing Porsche.
The charges leveled by Stuttgart prosecutors come after a three-year investigation centered around allegations that Porsche execs made a concerted effort to increase the company's share in VW to 75 percent in preparation for a hostile takeover. Porsche had previously told its investors on at least five occasions that it had no intention to buy VW.
Portions of the investigation have subsided, according to prosecutors, citing an inability to prove certain improprieties with a "necessary degree of certainty." The number of charges is down to 5 from a previous 14 counts regarding "information-based market manipulation."
Corvette gets slidey with Britain's best performance cars
Sat, 18 Oct 2014Autocar wants to find Britain's best driver's car, and it's challenging a murderers' row of some of the world's best performance vehicles to find out, including the latest Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. All of them were therefore assembled at the Castle Combe Circuit to find a winner.
If it wants to take the crown from this pack of mostly European competitors, the 'Vette has to beat some steep competition. Its challengers include monsters like the Ferrari 458 Speciale, Ariel Atom 3.5R and Jaguar F-Type Coupe. As a further hurdle for the winner to clear, Autocar also has last year's champ among the fighters - the Porsche 911 GT3.
Even if you're not at all interested in the C7, there's still something here for practically any fan of fast cars. The competitors include relative oddities among the pack like the Renault Mégane RS Trophy and Alfa Romeo 4C. Plus, Autocar has some well-positioned microphones that let you hear the Atom wailing like a banshee and the roar of the 458 Speciale. Check out the video to see which one of these all-stars takes home the award this year.

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
