Chicago, Illinois, United States
2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Here Is a beautiful 2003 PORSCHE 911 Carrera 4S All wheel drive Finished with an seal grey metallic exterior and black full leather interior. The Car had the engine failure at 119k miles. The bad engine was replaced with professionally rebuilt motor with only 28k miles on it. Motor was rebuilt and installed by one of the best Porsche engine rebuilders - MB Motorsports in Schaumburg IL. The job was done in the and of March 2015 and there was 6 month warranty that covers rebuilt engine core.(the motor warranty will expire in the end of September 2015) All parts warrantied are as follows:engine block, cranshaft,IMS,pistons, rods, cylinder heads, camshaft, valves and all parts included in long block. The motor has also new upgrated IMS roller bearing installed. I did around 900 miles with the car after engine swap and it drives like new.The 6 cylinder engine is strong and powerful. The steering is Tight and precise. five speed Tiptronic auto gearbox with steering wheel mounted buttons to manually override the shifts feels just grate. Drives very much as it should. This 2003 Carrera 4S just underwent a complete oil and Fluid service within the last 50 miles. The air conditioning is ice cold. There is no any leaks from under the car. Both radiators on the front have been replaced with new ones because of small leak. Front tires are brand new. Rear brake pads were just replaced and front pads are close to new. The interior is in very good condition showing very little or virtually no wear to any of the seats, dashboard or doors. On the exterior the one thing I would consider replacing or removing is front clear bra paint protection film that was installed probably when the car was new and it is not looking that good anymore. This car was over $90k when was new! Here is some extras on the car: BOSE Premium sound with 6 disc remote cd changer, Heated Seats, Power seats both sides, sun roof and Xenon Lights packages plus it has K40 radar detector build in. Because the engine was replaced the car comes with the rebuild title- but this 911 was never involved in any accident.

First-ever Porsche headed home to company museum
Wed, 29 Jan 2014About 30 years before Ferdinand Porsche designed the Volkswagen Beetle, he created the Egger-Lohner electric vehicle, C.2 Phaeton model - or simply, the P1 - you see above. This was the first vehicle created by Porsche, and the car gets its nickname from the fact that he had stamped "P1" on many of the parts marking it as the first Porsche... sorry, 356 No. 1.
Now while you'd think that such an important piece of Porsche heritage has been in a museum or even the automaker's not-so-secret lair, it has actually been sitting at a warehouse for the last 112 years. Thankfully, that's all about to change as Porsche has recovered P1, and the car will soon be on "permanent display" at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
The P1 has a 3 horsepower motor capable of delivering a top speed of 21 miles per hour and a driving range of 49 miles, and, like many vehicles in Porsche's history, the motor is positioned at the rear of the vehicle. According to the press release posted below, the P1 finished first in a 24-mile electric vehicle race in Berlin in 1899, but it has been sitting since 1902.
Porsche 919 Hybrid revives Porsche's factory Le Mans efforts
Tue, 04 Mar 2014After months of teasing with camouflaged testers, Porsche has finally unveiled its prototype entry for the 2014 World Endurance Championship, the 919 Hybrid. Porsche, you may recall, hasn't had campaigned a factory team at Le Mans in years, so the 919 is nothing less than their recommitment to endurance racing.
Combining a 2.0-liter V4 (yes, a V4) that revs to 9,000 rpm, the 919 produces around 500 horsepower with a pair of energy recovery systems. The first system recovers the heat energy from exhaust gasses as they pass through an electrical generator, while the second system is a bit more familiar. Using a setup similar to what is found on the production 918 Spyder, a generator on the front axle recovers kinetic energy from the brakes, which is subsequently stored in a battery system. That power can then be sent to the front wheels at the driver's command, effectively turning the 919 into an all-wheel-drive racecar.
Despite these various forms of motivation, Porsche doesn't claim to be seeking outright power supremacy, with Chairman Matthias Müller saying, "In 2014, it will not be the fastest car that wins the World Endurance Championship series and the 24 hours of Le Mans, rather it will be the car that goes the furthest with a defined amount of energy. And it is precisely this challenge that carmakers must overcome. The 919 Hybrid is our fastest mobile research laboratory and the most complex race car that Porsche has ever built."
Porsche 911 with VW turbodiesel prepares for LeMons assault
Fri, 21 Mar 2014LeMons racing is a wonderful example that setting limits can actually breed creativity. The series mandates that all entries must cost $500, not counting safety equipment, and that cap forces teams to be ingenious in how they build a racecar. Take for example this diesel-powered Porsche 911, which its creators have dubbed Ferkel the Nein-11, that will be racing in the Sears Pointless race this weekend in Sonoma, California.
This Frankenstein combines a 911 chassis that was originally bought just for its European powertrain and a Volkswagen TDI diesel engine mounted in the rear. After deciding the shell could still be of some use, the team decided to go racing. "We began brainstorming what replacement drivetrain to use for maximum offense and there was really only one answer: a diesel," said Philipp von Weitershausen, one of the team captains, to Jalopnik. They bought a 1998 Jetta TDI on the cheap and started figuring out a way to hack the engine into the bay. To pay respect to the donor, the VW's trunk was highly modified (and drilled) and grafted onto the back of Ferkel.
This team isn't a newcomer to LeMons. Its last car was a classic VW Beetle with a Subaru engine and dual controls, named Ferdinand the Bug, which could be driven from the left or right side. It's quite a sight.
