If you are looking at this ad then you know all about the car already - It is without a doubt one of the best current sports cars in the world.

This particluar model is white with a black hood and sensational Factroy Porche titanium colored wheels - everyone looks and stares when this rolls down the street - hit the  Sport button on the transmission and it sounds like a Cup Racing Car when you take off - its VERY impressive.

Only one owner - me !

I bought this on a whim and I feel like I never really used it - I have a young family and it just doesn't fit my lifestyle so my wife is making me sell it.  I purchased it from my local Porsche dealer here in Marin and they have serviced it.  Its a great car - just not for me.

Lightly used around town - never on the track - All original equipment - Always garaged - fully loaded - just look at the options list and this is important its never once been 'launched'

No dings, scratches, damage or accidents.

The car will stand any inspection you wish to have.  The Porsche dealership that I purchased it from (and that has serviced it from new) is half a mile down the road from me and they will happily inspect the car for you.

No dealers.

Transaction details

Only bid if you have the cash on hand in the bank and ready to go - no money orders, cash, personal checks or cashiers checks will be considered.

This purchase will be considered binding subject to it passing any inspection you wish to have.

If you wish to purchase this car then you will need to wire $500 within 24hrs of your winning bid to secure the vehicle - you will receive wiring instructions once you have won the bid.

At which point you may arrange for inspection at the local Porsche dealer at your own cost - I will drive the vehicle there and collect it once the inspection is complete.

In the unlikely event the car fails its inspection then I will put right any faults that are found.

Should you decide to not complete the purchase then you will forfeit the $500 deposit so you need to be a grown up and very serious about buying the car if you bid for it.

After the inspection you will then have 48hrs to wire the remaining funds - if the funds are not received within 48hrs then the purchase will be considered as cancelled by you and you will forfeit the $500 deposit.

Once your full funds have cleared you are then welcome to make arrangements to collect your purchase.

See what the Chevy C7 ZR1 may be benchmarked against

Tue, 07 May 2013

One of the greatest things every Corvette has had going for it, and also one of the most re-used arguments against it, is its price-to-performance equation - long before the Nissan GT-R became the de facto Porsche 911 comparator the Corvette spent decades as Exhibit A. Depending on which side of the argument you stressed, supporters crowed about how much performance you got for how (comparatively) little, detractors carped on how little you got everywhere else in the bargain.
It appears Chevrolet is working as hard as ever to render the argument meaningless. Spy shooters at KGP captured a convocation of European birds of prey leaving the General Motors test center, and aimed at benchmarking the C7 Corvette ZR1. The road train comprised of two C7 Corvette Stingrays, a 2013 Corvette ZR1, McLaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 Italia, Audi R8 V10 Spyder and Porsche 911 Carrera S and it was last seen heading down the same kinked-up back roads used to hone the Corvette Stingray.
The C7-series ZR1 and its possible 700 horsepower are still a ways off. If it really is being positioned to compete with the celestial exotica in the testing group, could it be the first Corvette to regularly be the first answer to the question "Cost no object, which would would you rather have?"

Porsche Cayman GT4 looks sexy, rapid in the nude

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Porsche doesn't officially have a name for its more hardcore version of the Cayman, yet. The speculation is that the coupe is called the GT4 as a little brother to the 911 GT3. However, the German sports car maker apparently is not interested in keeping the model's looks much of a secret because these latest shots show it without a hint of camouflage to speak of. The GT4 reportedly takes the GT3's ethos of more power, less weight and stickier-than-glue handling and brings it all to the Cayman. As these photos show, there's a much lower air dam up front with a cooling vent at the tip of the hood. Larger wheels are another obvious addition and are likely shod with some very sticky rubber. At the back, there's a double spoiler combining a wing and a ducktail. The power and gearbox for the GT4 remains a mystery, though. The rumor is that it uses a tuned version of the 3.4-liter flat-six in the Cayman S and GTS to make between 370 and 400 horsepower. A similar overhaul of the Boxster might be on the way, as well. A version of the convertible wearing some of the Cayman GT4's goodies was recently spotted testing. That one even had a manual transmission to make the prospects behind the wheel even more exciting.

Preparing for Le Mans 2014 Porsche remembers 1971 and the 917 [w/video]

Sun, 07 Apr 2013

Porsche has given us another look back at its successes at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This time it's 1971, the year that its 917 set records that haven't all been eclipsed. It's 45-kilogram magnesium tube frame was the lightest, Jackie Oliver set the fastest in-race lap with a time that still stands, and winning drivers Helmut Marko - the same Helmut Marko currently with Infiniti Red Bull Racing - and Gilles Lethem did so many laps that their distance wasn't exceeded until the Audi R15 TDI did it in 2010.
1971 was also the year of the "Pink Pig." With bodywork created by a French aerodynamics firm, the wider, rounder 917 earned the porcine moniker so Porsche painted it pink and labeled it with the cuts you'd get from a pig. Sponsor Martini was so miffed they demanded all Martini branding be removed. No one can remove the thousands of photographs taken of the car ever since. Enjoy that and more in the video below.
