2012.5 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe - Type 991 (not 997) - 7-speed - Low Miles on 2040-cars
Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, United States
You are looking at my beautiful 2012.5 (type 991) Porsche 911 Carrera 7-speed coupe with Platinum Silver Metallic paint and Luxor Beige interior. It is nearly impossible to distinguish this from a new car, with only 6,450 original miles, flawless paint and interior. There are no dings, dents or scratches in the bodywork and no chips, scratches, curb rash or pitting on the wheels. I am the original owner of the 911 and took possession of it in April 2012. The car has always been stored in a heated garage when not being driven. The Porsche is nicely optioned with 20" Carrera S wheels, heated front seats, a SportDesign steering wheel, clear front side turn indicator lenses, auto dimming mirrors, and Porsche tan carpet floor mats. Another nice option is the $2,400 4-year, 40,000 mile prepaid Porsche Scheduled Maintenance Plan which is fully transferrable and is associated with the car's VIN, so it automatically transfers with the car and available at any Porsche dealership. All maintenance is up to date and the car has a current PA state inspection sticker. There are two years remaining on the original 4-year, 50,000 mile factory warranty and prepaid maintenance plan. Payment in full is due within 7 days of the end of the auction, unless other arrangements are made in advance. I will deliver the car to Porsche of Mechanicsburg (PA) for a pre-sale inspection and/or for shipment following the sale, at your expense. A clear PA Certificate of Title is in hand and will be delivered with the owner's manual, two original smart keys, original window sticker and service records. |

The mid-engine Porsche backstory
Thu, 09 Oct 2014As an automaker's identity evolves over years, its signature becomes defined by any number of factors - heritage (Mercedes-Benz), image (Lamborghini), or market share (Toyota). In the case of Porsche, it was an engineering quirk that forged the German company's most enduring character trait.
Porsche would not have survived - let alone, thrived - in today's saturated landscape had it not been for the 911, and that slope-tailed sports car wouldn't have sprung to life without its predecessor, the 356. While phenomenal success of those rear-engine icons built the company, forays into the mid-engine configuration have played a significant part in establishing the brand's identity.

The exotic '80s: Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus and the Porsche 959
Thu, Apr 9 2015There's no secret that we are big fans of the MotorWeek Retro Review series around here. In an automotive world that often focuses on the latest tech and what's coming in the future, it's refreshing to take a look into the past to get a new perspective. That said, the show is really outdoing itself this time by posting a full episode from the '80s to YouTube, complete with the original, jazzy opening. The video is an absolute standout, too, with drives of some of the best supercars that Europe could offer at the time. Among the now classic sportscars that MotorWeek got to drive are the Ferrari 328, Lotus Esprit Turbo, Lamborghini Jalpa and Autokraft AC Mark IV. There's even a preview that sings the praises of the tech in the Porsche 959. The episode is basically a showcase of most of the exotics from young enthusiasts' walls and school folders during the '80s and is not to be missed. Porsche 918 Spyder pre-production version in all its almost-done glory
Sun, 18 Aug 2013Porsche continues the long tease of its upcoming 918 Spyder, with the latest instantiation here at the Pebble Beach Concours, with the car presented in pre-production form to the throngs on the golf course.
Just a few days ago Porsche dropped an image of the car on its official Twitter feed. True to that leak, this 918 looks damn near what we expect the full customer version to be when it is officially debuted in Frankfurt. The neon-green brake calipers are items new to this version of the 918, and seem to be an identical color to those found on the Panamera S E-Hybrid.
When it shows up as a drivable piece, expect the Porsche supercar, with its gasoline-electric drivetrain, to be pretty insane. Horsepower in excess of 800 ponies will be available with a toe-tap, while the price of entry is expected to come within shouting distance of $850,000. A good deal for Porsche to bring the thing to Pebble then, where buyers with that kind of cash are think on the ground (and most likely wearing sherbet-colored trousers).
