2008 Porsche 911 Carrera with Factory Aerokit

This 2008 Carrera is in virtually "new" condition.  At 1170 miles, it may be the lowest mileage example for sale in the entire USA.  Major options include Factory Aerokit, 19" special Factory Black Finish Sport Design Wheels, Bose High End Sound Package, Sport Chrono Package Plus, Bi-Xenon Headlamps, power sunroof, red taillights and  leather seats with contrast stitching and embossed Porsche Crest in headrests. Other than minor scatches on the underside of the front spoiler (hard to avoid with the aerokit), it is showroom condition.  It has sat in my garage on a Porsche battery tender for over four years with only short drives around the neighborhood every couple of months.   I am selling the car because I simply don't have the time to drive it.  The car has never been driven in the rain, and should be owned by an enthusiast who can fully enjoy it's capabilities.  My loss is your gain - this is almost a brand new car with an original sticker of almost 91K.   Feel free to ask questions.  It is topped up with synthetic oil and ready to drive home.  Title in hand, cash or bank wire transfer unless other arrangements are made before auction ends.  Successful bidder must deposit $1000 via Paypal within 48 hours.  Car will be released only after funds have cleared.  Buyer responsible for shipping.  Someone is going to get a really nice Carrera!

Porsche to only build next Panamera in Leipzig?

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

Manufacture of the next-generation Porsche Panamera could be moving, if a report from Reuters is true. The current-generation Panamera range has its bodies welded together and painted at a Volkswagen facility in Hanover before being shipped to Leipzig where final assembly takes place.
According to Reuters, Porsche is looking to cut VW out of the equation and focus production of the Panamera in Leipzig. While this could cost 800 of the 14,300 workers at Hanover their jobs, it's not entirely clear what Porsche stands to gain by the move. It recently invested 50- million euros (about $680 million at today's rates) on a paint and body shop for its Leipzig factory, ostensibly so the facility could have Macan production underway by that car's spring 2014 on-sale date. If the facility was also designed with next-generation Panamera production in mind, then Porsche's decision to put all of its eggs in one basket could make a lot of sense. It currently ships the semi-completed Panameras from Hanover to Leipzig, a distance of around 160 miles by road, and presumably it's a costly and time-consuming process.
The Leipzig factory produced 27,000 Panameras last year, although it's unclear just what its production capacity really is. Besides the Panamera and the upcoming Macan, the factory also builds the Porsche Cayenne.

Porsche 918 Spyder debuts with new N"urburgring lap record [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

It's been a long time in the making, but Porsche has finally revealed the final production version of its long-awaited 918 Spyder here at the Frankfurt Motor Show. And yet that's not even the big news surrounding the hybrid hypercar.
No, the big news is that, while Porsche was preparing taking the wraps off the car here in Frankfurt, elsewhere in Germany a team was setting a blistering lap time at the Nürburgring. And not just any blistering lap time, but a new world record.
Porsche claims that, on the morning of September 4, a team of three drivers (including former rally champ Walter Röhrl and Porsche test drivers Timo Kluck and Marc Lieb) broke the Nordschleife lap record, Lieb finally setting the best time at 6:57 at an average of 111 miles per hour.

eBay Find of the Day: Your choice of new, unregistered mid-2000s supercars

Wed, 26 Dec 2012

If you didn't quite find what you were hoping to see under the tree this year, maybe it's about time you buy yourself something nice. Something like an unregistered 2005 Porsche Carrera GT. The car has never been titled and has just 83 miles on the odometer. With one owner since new, the Carrera GT is likely to be as nice an example as you're likely to find outside of a museum. Porsche only built 340 of these machines back in 2005, and with a 610 horsepower V10 kicking at your spine, you can lap Santa's sleigh next year. Currently, the Carrera GT has a buy it now price of $457,325 with around six days left on the auction.
Not flashy enough for your tastes? Stroll on down to West Hollywood and you'll find a similarly untitled 2004 Ferrari Enzo up for grabs with a sticker of $1.8 million. Technically a Euro-spec car, the Enzo isn't legal to operate on US roads, but could be modified to satisfy Uncle Sam with a little effort. The seller calls this car the "last brand-new Enzo in existence" and with 175 miles on the clock, that may be a true statement. You can head over to eBay Motors for a closer look if you're feeling spendy.
