2007 Porsche 911 911 Carrera on 2040-cars
San Francisco, California, United States
You are looking at an almost flawless 2007 Porsche 911 that has been garaged most of its life. I have kept this car in meticulous condition keeping up with all service intervals. I purchased this vehicle from my Dr. friend in which he purchased it at as a CPO. Over the course of 3 years of ownership I managed to put a whopping 23k miles on the vehicle. Lets start with the upgrades. - Factory Bose speaker, premium 20 light weight bbs wheels. Front tires have approx 9k miles on front and 1500 miles on rear. Eibach springs which lowered the car by 1.5, B&M short throw shifter, Clear corner lights, front led turn signals, and 997.2 style rear led tail lights, and an integrated hard wired valentine 1 radar detector. I replaced the clutch around 2500 miles ago ( House automotive in Pasadena said it was near its lifespan and recommended changing it before it caused damaged but not needed immediately) due to preventative measure. I wasnt planning on ever selling this car but do to limited parking at my residence, I just cant find a spot to park it being my weekend car. Now for the bad- small puncture whole on the rear passenger seat ( dont know how it got there, never been smoked in, looks like a pen mark) and small small dent on the driver side pillar ( barely noticeable but still present), and minor road rash on the passenger rear rim, ( 150 dollar fix. just needs a ring. This vehicle has NEVER been tracked, in an accident, zero paintwork, smoked in, or abused in any way.

Magnus Walker and Alex Ross stop by Leno's garage with their 997 GT2
Mon, Feb 9 2015The market is littered with Porsche 911 tuners, with names like 9ff, Gemballa and TechArt leading the field. Seldom do any two ever collaborate on a joint project, but that's just the kind of match that was made at Jay Leno's Garage. That's where Alex Ross of SharkWerks and restomodder Magnus Walker first met, sparking a collaboration that yielded the car you see here. And fittingly, they've brought it back to the garage to show off what resulted. Though Walker usually deals with older Elfens, this time he applied his eye for style on a more contemporary 2008 997 GT2, decking it out with grey stripes, orange bumpers, gold wheels and decals and a tartan-upholstered interior. He left the mechanical bits to Ross and company, who dropped the suspension and increased output to 650 horsepower at the wheels (775 at the crank), surpassing the stock GT2 and even the later GT2 RS. The result is pretty hard-core and old-school, but you'll want to watch the video above to see for yourself.
Meet Buster, this 1968 Porsche racecar transporter from Mercedes
Thu, Dec 11 2014If you're thinking about Porsche and Mercedes-Benz when it comes to motorsports, your first thought is probably on the two German brands battling on the track. However, for decades, whenever Porsche's factory team went to compete, a custom Mercedes was right along with them hauling the racecars. These days the truck lives in the Brumos Collection in Jacksonville, FL, and goes by the nickname Buster. However, its story goes back to 1968 when Porsche ordered two commercial vehicles from Mercedes and then handed them over to a Stuttgart-based outfitter for customization. The results were these racing transporters that hauled models like the 917 and 956 until the '80s. The other survived, too, with a place in Porsche's collection. Well-known racers in their own right, Brumos scooped up the transporter in 2003 and have kept driving it to vintage racing events. The interior now boasts the signatures of many of the great drivers from the era of this historic truck. Watch the video for the whole story on the Mercedes with a whole lot of Porsche inside.
Porsche close to fix for 911 GT3 engine fires
Sun, 16 Mar 2014It looks like 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 drivers might actually get to drive their cars again soon. Reports of fires affecting the track-ready Germans first began about a month ago. Then, a few days later, the automaker confirmed two of the five alleged blazes and said owners shouldn't drive their cars until further notice. Porsche then went so far as to offer to pick up the GT3s and transport them to the nearest dealer until the problem was identified and a fix was found. Finally, there appears to be a repair.
"We know the reason and the problem-solving measures. We're testing them," said Porsche CEO Matthias Müller to Bloomberg. The technical fix will be released to owners shortly.
The recall affects all 785 GT3s that have been sold so far, but there have been no reported injuries caused by the fires. When it first announced the safety campaign, Porsche said: "Internal studies to determine the cause of the engine damage have not been completed yet."
