LEGACY MOTORCARS, LLC
JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA
Legacy Motorcars offers this beautiful Porsche 911 Cabriolet. This is truly automotive art, the lines of this graceful car with the 18" alloy wheels, power convertible top and classic 911 styling, make this car a pleasure to the eyes and more important, to drive! This 911 is the last of the 996 series cars. As you Porsche fans know the 996 was offered in 2005 and later in the same year the 997 was introduced. This car may be one of the lowest mileage 996's available and is in perfect condition, both the cosmetics and mechanics. I sold this car while working at the famous Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville and now have the good fortune to sell it again. It is located in Topeka, Kansas so shipping anywhere in the country will be easy. It has covered just a little over 6,000 miles with the current owner, but more important, only 21,000 miles its entire life!. The car has always been garaged and treated to the best of care.
Optional equipment includes: 342 Adjustable seat heating, right/left, 411 18" Carrera wheels, 446 Full color wheel crests, 551 wind deflector, 680 Bose sound, P15 Power seats, P74 Bi-Xenon Headlamps with washer, and XSC Porsche crests embossed in headrest. The car has all books and extra keys.
Full detailing of the car along with a fresh mechanical check was done just a few miles ago which included oil service. I would not hesitate to drive the car any distance. Bid with confidence, check out my feedback and other cars for sale.
Legacy Motorcars is a licensed Florida dealer so the appropriate taxes will have to be collected if sold in Florida. The reserve is very reasonable as we want to sell the car not just admire it! Please call or email with any questions. Tom 904 412-4997 or tombungay@comcast.net.

Porsche busts out new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Baby 911. The poor man's Porsche. That's what they called the Boxster when it debuted some 20 years ago. They said the same of the first Cayman when it arrived a decade later, but they stopped saying it when the latest iterations hit the scene two years ago. That's because Zuffenhausen's entry-level models have long since stepped out of their big brother's shadow and into their own. And that's all the more true of the new Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS.
Based on the Boxster S and Cayman S, the new GTS models benefit from an enhanced 3.4-liter flat six that produces 330 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque in the roadster or 340 hp and 280 lb-ft in the coupe - representing an increase of 15 hp and 7 lb-ft in either model. Both also come with the Sport Chrono package as standard, along with adjustable suspension and 20-inch alloys, blacked out to match the dynamic headlight surrounds and other muted trim.
Those disappointed by the unavailability of a manual transmission in the fire-prone 911 GT3 will be pleased to note that a six-speed manual comes standard, but those enamored of letting a pair of clutches shift themselves seamlessly will want to spring for the optional seven-speed DCT. So equipped and with launch control engaged, the Boxster GTS will rocket from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in 4.7 seconds, while the incrementally lighter, more powerful Cayman will hit it in 4.6. Either way you're looking at a third of a second quicker than the Boxster/Cayman S. There's also a 20-millimeter lowered suspension on offer for track-day enthusiasts.
Petrolicious explores long-term living with Porsche's 914/6
Thu, 15 May 2014After its last video starred none other than the spectacular Ferrari 250 GTO, where was there for the video team at Petrolicious to go? Certainly, in the realm of classics, there are only a few other vehicles that can match the badge and pedigree of the ultra-rare Ferrari. Maybe a Jaguar D-Type or an Aston Martin DBR1? No, this latest video doesn't star either of those British icons. It stars an oft-misunderstood, occasionally derided entry from Germany's most sporting manufacturer - Porsche.
Yes, we've gone from a Ferrari 250 GTO to a Porsche 914/6. As is often the case with Petrolicious, though, the story told about the car by its owner are often more important than the make or model of car being highlighted. That's exactly the case here, as Jack Griffin talks about the 38 years he's spent with this particular Porsche.
Having been born into the Volkswagen fold and introduced to Porsche in the best way possible - behind the wheel of a 356 - Griffin has some interesting stories (including his attempt at running the 12 Hours of Sebring), and he knows a fair bit about some of the 914's attributes.
McLaren P1 squares off against Porsche 918 in Evo track battle
Fri, Nov 21 2014Evo's side-by-side comparison of the McLaren P1 against the Porsche 918 Spyder isn't the first time we've seen England and Germany's ultimate automotive weapons sized up together; last month, Autocar tested them over the standing mile, with a Ducati 1199 Superleggera playing the joker. Evo throws a few curves at its test, though, taking the supercars to Anglesey Circuit in Wales to see which will lay down the fastest lap time with scribe Jethro Bovington at the wheel. In case the numbers haven't yet been seared into your memory, while both are assisted by electric motors, the 3,069-pound, rear-wheel drive P1 gets on with 903 horsepower and 664 pound-feet from a 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8. The 3,750-pound, all-wheel-drive 918 Spyder does its job with 795 hp and 575 lb-ft surging out of a naturally aspirated, 4.6-liter V8. We're not told know which circuit layout he uses for the test, but both cars comfortably eclipse the mark set by the fastest coupe Evo's driven around it so far, the Ferrari 458 Speciale. Then, in an epilogue occasioned by a tire change, one of the supercars comfortably eclipses its own time again, before Bovington declares one the master of the track and the other the ruler of the street. Enjoy finding out which is which in the video above.
