This 2002 Porsche Carerra Cabriolet has been a dream come true for me to own, but now that we have a baby on the way it's time to move to a car with 4 doors. The car has just over 35k miles (2,500 a year!), and is Seal Gray with black leather interior. This is a 2nd generation 996 with the 3.6L engine and many improvements over the 1st generation 996. The car has had the 30k service performed at a reputable independent Porsche shop in Denver, and has also had the coolant tank replaced. This tank is a common ailment of the 996, and is a $700 job to remove and replace the tank.
- Cold weather package (heated seats and headlight washers)
- Upgraded factory wheels
- Xenon headlamps
- Euro front side marker lenses (the US spec lenses are an ugly orange)
- K&N cold air intake (Good for an extra 23 hp. It's a bolt on replacement for the factory air intake, and all original parts will be included. I can also remove the K&N and replace it with factory air box if requested)
- Factory air deflector
- Porsche fitted car cover
- Factory service manual on DVD

Next-gen Porsche Panamera snapped running in E-Hybrid spec
Tue, May 12 2015The Porsche Panamera first debuted back in 2009 and underwent a facelift in 2013. That means the all-new, next-generation Panamera should be arriving in time for the 2017 model year, and here were have our first look at its plug-in hybrid variant. Following the last prototype spotted undergoing cold-weather testing in Sweden, this new Panamera test mule spotted in southern Europe appears to be running the E-Hybrid powertrain setup – judging, at least, by the presence of a second filler cap hiding what's likely an charging port on the left side rear fender. We'll just have to sit tight, however, to find out whether it will be packing an evolution of the existing powertrain or something entirely new. Though the prototype may look largely undisguised, those head- and taillight graphics look like stickers to throw us off the scent, and these do not appear to be production-ready body panels. Expect the finished product to look far more polished when it arrives sometime in the middle of next year, with the hybrid version to follow sometime thereafter.
Porsche's 959 is still poster-worthy after all these years
Thu, 24 Jul 2014Today, we have the Porsche 918 Spyder. Before that, there was the Carrera GT. While both of those cars are dramatic departures from the traditional, rear-engine Porsche formula, they owe their very existence to another wild child of the iconic German brand - the 959.
Like so many of the great performance cars of yesteryear, the 959 was a homologation special, built just so Porsche could go racing in the clinically insane Group B rally series. Fewer than 400 959s hit the streets, but those that did were some of the most advanced cars of the 1980s. A rear-mounted, twin-turbocharged flat-six sent its power through a still-rare all-wheel-drive system, creating a race-inspired rocket that was, for a short time, the fastest production car on the planet.
Xcar has the story of the 959, from its inception to its conquest of the Paris-Dakar rally, which is interspersed with a drive of the legendary coupe. Scroll down for the full video.
Porsche 911 GT2 RS vs. Mercedes SLS AMG Black in battle of who can shred more rubber
Fri, 04 Apr 2014We might be looking at the end of an era in European performance models. Mercedes-Benz is doing away with the SLS in favor of a rumored smaller and cheaper SLC, and Porsche has said that a new 911 GT2 isn't necessarily a sure thing, which means another 911 GT2 RS is even farther away. In its latest video, Evo's Jethro Bovingdon pits the ultimate versions of these German sports coupes against each other and finds two of the fastest cars the magazine has ever lapped around its track.
In one corner, there is the Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series that sits as the pinnacle of the company's halo model. It relies on the classic setup of a V8 mounted in front powering the rear wheels. On the other side, there is the 911 GT2 RS with a turbocharged flat-six mounted at the back, spinning the rear wheels. It was conceived to be Porsche's ultimate expression of a turbocharged 911, and while it's a few years old, Bovingdon shows that it's up to the task of racing a more modern rival.
Both of these rear-wheel-drive monsters are more than capable of some fantastically smoky power-slides, but they also show how great the last generation of sports cars was. Scroll down to check out the video.
