Feel free to email: carlicaahlfield@rumpypumpy.net . This is a pampered Carrera 4S with a number of upgrades and modifications. I am a PCA member, this is my fifth
Porsche, have owned this vehicle for 4 years (I'm the 3rd owner, but have all paperwork), and it has lived a very
sheltered life. No winters, no rain, covered when not in use. Upgrades/Modifications:
Factory Wheels Upgraded to 19" HRE's with New Michelin Pilot Sport 2 Tires ($10,000)
Professionally Installed K40 Laser/Radar Detector/Defender ($2,000)
IMS Bearing Upgrade with Lowered Oil Pan in 2013 ($5,000) - I would STRONGLY Advise Not Buying a 996/Early 997
that hasn't had this performed
FabSpeed X-Pipe Catalytic Converter Upgrade Earlier in 2015 ($3,000)
Pioneer Double Din AVH-X5500BHS Stereo with DVD as well as Review Camera + Porsche OEM Surround Faceplate
($1,200)
GT3 Rear Wing and Front Spoiler with Rear Badge Delete (I estimate it cost the former owner well over $8,000)
MotorSport OEM Porsche Competition Clutch (Installed with IMS, Should Last Life of Vehicle, or a VERY long
time)
Clear Colored Side Markers (IMO Looks Much Sharper than the Orange)
Competition Brake Pads (Stops on a Dime)
Carbon Fiber Laminate on Door Sills & Center Counsel (This is not the cheap peel and stick, although is
removable)
Driver Seat Bottom Bolster, Passenger Seat Bottom Bolster Leather Replaced with OEM Replacement in 2015
($1,200)
After-market Shifter from a Company out of Stutgart that make a much nicer shifter than stock (also shift grid
is backlit LED, looks great at night)
Armrest/Center Storage Drawer Covered in Leather
3M Clear Bra on Quarter Panels
For what it's worth, although this is not a GT3, most people think it is (there's a big difference - including in
cost)...although that was never the intent. It gets compliments everywhere I go, and the car drives phenomenally.
Please note that this is the metallic black (Basault), that was a $2k upcharge over the regular black (looks
awesome at day and night). I'll be the first to admit this car is a bit over-invested in, however, outside normal
maintenance (oil, filter, pads, etc.) - this car has been set up for years of enjoyment. Whoever ends up with this
vehicle is going to be a very lucky buyer!

Porsche Cayenne diesel V8 may not be long for this world

Fri, Jan 23 2015

Goodbye, Porsche Cayenne V8 Diesel. We hardly knew ye. Nor did the Europeans, apparently. Porsche's V8 oil burner is still on the European model list for the Cayenne SUV, but the mill won't go through the likely pricey process of being updated to adhere to new and stricter European emissions standards, Just-Auto says. A Porsche spokesman confirmed to the publication that it's a fairly complicated process to update the diesel V8 to be so-called "Euro-6 compliant." With Cayenne diesels selling in relatively low volumes anyways, the German automaker might just dump the V8 diesel altogether, as it'd be quite cost-ineffective to make the necessary upgrades. The V8 diesel was a 4.1-liter engine that delivered 385 horsepower in addition to what sounds like a little too much exhaust for European clean-air regulators. While that's a pretty powerful profile, the most recent gas-powered V8 for the Cayenne delivers about 570 horsepower, so the diesel engine won't likely be missed by European auto enthusiasts. Besides, there's still the V6 diesel that's also sold in the US. That's a 4,800-pound beast that moves from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about seven seconds and gets a relatively (for diesels) modest 20 miles per gallon city. For those who are curious, Autoblog's First Drive review of that model can be found here.

The 2014 Ruf RCT offers rear-drive action with 911 Turbo fun

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

Ruf has 37 years of experience of turning Porsches into even higher performance machines. For the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it's unveiling the RCT, or Ruf Carrera Turbo, which offers power to split the difference between Porsche's 911 Turbo and Turbo S models.
The RCT starts with a unique body kit with a new front air dam and drastically changed rear deck that combines both a small spoiler and air intake. Power is provided by a twin-turbocharged, 3.8-liter flat-six with 525 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque paired to either a seven-speed manual or seven-speed dual clutch transmission. That gives the Ruf a 5-hp and 15-lb-ft advantage over Porsche's own Turbo but is still less powerful than the full Turbo S. The RCT sprints to 62 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and to a top speed of 196 mph.
However, the Ruf's big advantage is that it offers buyers the choice of either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, while Stuttgart's turbo models are only available spinning all four wheels. The RCT can also offers upgrades like an integrated roll cage and custom suspension packages, should the buyer be so inclined to splash out on racing kit.

Porsche Supercup racer dies in crash in Australia

Tue, 15 Oct 2013

Even with great strides made towards increasing the safety of motor racing, fundamentally it's still a dangerous sport. And now it has claimed another life.
That life belonged to one Sean Edwards, an accomplished GT racing driver. Edwards was killed at Queensland Raceway in Australia, riding shotgun in a Porsche 996 GT3 while acting as instructor. The driver was airlifted to hospital with critical injuries. Sean Edwards was 26.
The son of former F1 driver Guy Edwards (whose car he drove in the filming of Rush), Sean won the European GT3 Championship in a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and drove a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 to repeat victories at the 24 Hours of Dubai as well as this year's Nürburgring 24 Hours. Edwards had been competing in the Porsche Supercup, whose standings he currently leads with just two rounds to go, and could be crowned champion posthumously.
