2002 911 Turbo, Mint, Extremely Low Miles, High-end Quality Upgrades on 2040-cars
Gainesville, Florida, United States
It has been amazing to own this beautiful 911 turbo, but now the family has grown, leaving me less time to enjoy this perfect car. I have decided to pass the car along to someone who can more fully enjoy it! The highlights of this very low mileage extensively optioned Porsche includes full leather interior, 6 disc cd changer, RUF aluminum petals, Porsche factory short shifter, and Porsche carbon ceramic brakes. The best thing about the brakes, is that they last almost forever and leave no dust anywhere! Champion Porsche, formally Rennsport One in South Florida upgraded the car with an Evolution Motorsports GT660 upgrade in March of 2010 which included Tial Alpha 28 ball-bearing turbos, EVOMSit software, Bilstein PSS10 suspension, Sachs II clutch upgrade, and a custom 200 cell cat exhaust by BBI which complies with CA emissions. Porsche GT2RS intercoolers were installed which are much larger than stock and reduce air intake temperature a full 40 degrees Celsius. Only quality upgrades were chosen which costed over $40,000, not including labor to improve and enhance the already amazing existing Porsche platform. The tune is reliable, safe, and the boost was kept low for maintaining longevity, up to 1.1 bar. Driving the car is an absolute dream with precise handling and best of all, the raw feeling of the 6-speed manual transmission. I must say, the power is incredible and actually much more than I ever needed. I still keep in touch with the last owner, and I know the complete history of the car. It has never been tracked, abused or pushed to or beyond its limit. The car needs nothing and is ready for the next owner. Before you buy, be sure to look at the wheels, brakes, and under the engine bay for areas of corrosion on other cars. I can assure you, this car has none, but is as clean as a whistle! Oil, coolant, brake fluid, pentosin, have all recently been changed. There is only 6200 original miles on the car since new, and I only drove it 2000 miles over the past few years. It still drives as if just off the showroom floor! The car may be shipped at owner’s expense. A smooth transaction would consist of the following: inspection if desired at buyers expense, deposit then payment in full, or just payment in full, bill of sale, then sign over the title, then ship the car at buyers expense. Please call Matt for any questions or to discuss any terms at 352-219-6766. Thank you for taking the time to view this opportunity! |

1989 Porsche 911 Turbo rolls out of Harry's Garage
Sun, May 31 2015It's getting increasing hard not to feel a little envious of Harry Metcalfe's collection of vehicles, especially with his latest purchase. He now owns the trinity of '80s European supercars with an '87 Lamborghini Countach, an '87 Ferrari Testarossa, and the recent addition of an '89 Porsche 911 Turbo. With the other two already featured in videos, the example from Stuttgart gets the focus in Metcalfe's latest clip. These turbos have a reputation for being a bit of a handful to drive, and according to Metcalfe that notoriety isn't entirely undeserved. With no power steering, floor-mounted pedals, oddly placed controls and lots of turbo lag, this era of 911 Turbo is difficult to master. However, it's a wonderful challenge that really engages the driver, according to Metcalfe. While a very different vehicle from the Countach or Testarossa, it's clear that this 911 Turbo is still a beloved member in Metcalfe's trio of '80s supercars. Let him give you a detailed explanation why in this video.
Porsche 918 Spyder officially priced from $845K, Weissach package $84K more
Wed, 23 Jan 2013Porsche has released official pricing for its entire lineup of 2013 models, which just happens to include the upcoming 918 Spyder hybrid supercar. The 795-horsepower advanced-technology-lab-on-wheels is now officially confirmed to have a starting price of $845,000 in the US, which is the exact amount we were told earlier when we had the opportunity to ride shotgun in some 918 Spyder pre-production test vehicles.
What we didn't know at the time was the cost of the Weissach trim package, which is a high-performance upgrade to the standard vehicle that includes the deletion of some interior amenities and addition of lighter-weight carbon fiber appointments, magnesium wheels, flame-resistant upholstery, racing belts and aerodynamic aids - it's meant for track-going folk who intend to use their 918 Spyders as God, country and manufacturer intended.
All told, the Weissach package should drop the 918 Spyder's curb weight by some 80 pounds, while also lightening your wallet of an additional $84,000 - the car's MSRP with the Weissach package is $929,000. These prices don't, however, include destination charges, which, for something like the very limited edition 918 Spyder (only 918 will be made), could very well cost considerably more than your average Porsche.
Mark Webber gets early clearance for Porsche departure
Thu, 28 Nov 2013If there's no rest for the wicked, there's surely even less rest for the wickedly fast. And make no mistake about it, Mark Webber is wickedly fast. He may not have proven able (or given the opportunity, depending on who you ask) to emerge from Sebastian Vettel's shadow after six seasons partnered with the multiple world champion at Red Bull Racing, but he's still won nine Formula One grands prix, to say nothing of the sports car races he won with Mercedes in the late 90s. But now he's leaving F1 to anchor Porsche's new LMP1 program, and according to the latest reports, he's departing Red Bull for Porsche sooner than expected.
Typically an F1 driver is obliged to stay with his team until the end of the calendar year - not just the end of the racing season - helping out with things like promotional events and fine-tuning next year's car. But news.com.au reports that Red Bull has given him early leave, so once the racing action in Brazil is done on Sunday, he's departing straight for Porsche's racing headquarters in Wiessach, Germany.
It won't be Webber's first visit to the facility, having already swung by to have his new seat fitted. But his early arrival will undoubtedly help him and Porsche get up and running ahead of schedule. The move may have been facilitated by a new sponsorship deal that could see Webber carry Red Bull with him to Le Mans, so don't be too surprised to see the energy drink company's logo on the side of the new Porsche once the new racing season gets under way next year, whether in concert with or instead of the anticipated revival of the Martini Racing livery.
