Beautifully appointed 1999 Porsche Carrera with GT3 Aero Kit and GT3 Wheels. This car features Black exterior with black interior, 18" GT3 Wheels. This Porsche has been in my own collection for almost a year and has been maintained by RUF via RAC Performance. In April 2014 this Porsche underwent a facelift with a new aftermarket GT3 Aero kit and tail, GT3 wheels as well as a new race clutch, stronger motor mounts and IMS update performed by RAC Performance in Dallas Texas. This car runs strong and is in great shape. Very well maintained and serviced. This car has been lowered approximately 1.5 inches to accommodate the Aero 3 body kit. This car turns heads at all angles and is a great daily driver. Pictures provided were taken on day of listing. The photos show the real time condition of this vehicle. All systems ie, windows, door locks, seats, heater, A/C work and function properly. Radio is OEM and is in full operation. New Tires and Interstate battery in 05/14. Serious buyers ONLY! Porsche patent sketches show removable headrest wind deflector
Mon, 21 Oct 2013While driving around in a convertible might seem glamorous, ask anyone with long hair and they'll likely tell you how it really is: the wind buffets, your hair goes everywhere and it's anything but glamorous. That's why you see so many convertibles driving with their tops up, their windows up or wind deflectors in place. But Porsche is apparently preparing to kick it up to the next level.
These patent drawings have leaked out, demonstrating what appears to be some new kind of wind-deflecting device being developed by Porsche. The mechanism is apparently fitted to the headrest itself and designed to keep the wind buffeting specifically around the head down to a minimum while allowing the car's occupants to enjoy the top-down driving experience.
No word on when it might hit the market, but we won't be surprised to see this kind of device appear on a future version of the Boxster or 911 Cabriolet. But nowhere else: despite the apparent leak, the patent drawings suggest that Porsche will be keeping this technology proprietary. Whether sister brands like Volkswagen, Bentley or Lamborghini will get their hands on it remains to be seen.

Fri, 28 Dec 2012Porsche has become the latest automaker to take advantage of clever projection technology. The automaker worked up a quick presentation for the 2013 911 Carrera 4S to show off a bit of "motionless driving." The display tracks the sports car from production to back-road caning and city-center cruising, displaying a variety of exterior color choices and wheel options without resorting to a two-dimensional video.
This isn't the first time we've seen an automaker use its new product as a projection screen. Subaru, Hyundai, Lamborghini and others have all done the same, and the trick never fails to be visually interesting.
As you may recall, we got to play with the 2013 911 Carrera 4S back in November and found the machine to be a better daily driver than its rear-wheel drive counterpart. You can check out the projection video below.
