Selling my 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 996 with 120,000 miles. The car is in EXCELLENT CONDITION!!
This car has every option available on the 911 in 1999 including the Porsche Tiptronic Transmission on the steering wheel and Traction Control.
1999 was the first ever year the 911 was completely overhauled by Porsche. All paperwork on the previous models was tossed out and Porsche started from scratch on a brand new 911. On the 1999 911 Porsche introduced the 3.4L Liquid cooled engine producing 300hp, prior to that the engines were all air cooled. The 1999 911 was also the first 911 with a <0.9 drag coefficient all 911's have now and the first 911 with an 50/50 balanced chassis, dramatically improving the handling of the car over previous models. 1999 was also the year Porsche introduced the Tiptronic Gear Box and Traction Control, the Tiptronic Gear Box and Traction Control were available on a limited few 911's and the gear box alone was a $4,000 option! All 911's build from 2000 until 2012 are based upon the 1999 911 just minor changes and like increasing the engine 0.2L etc. Therefore, you can put a 2011 911 next to this car and get inside of it and 95% is all the same.
The car was $89,000 in 1999 dollars!
Tiptronic gear box
cruise control
power windows
power seats
power sunroof
heated seats with 2 settings
traction control
leather interior
6 disc CD changer
The car runs perfect and all maintenance has been done by Porsche North Houston.
The car has new Michelin Pilot tires which were $2,500 installed and new belts and seals done for $1,500, new water pump and coolant expansion tank for $1,200 all in the last 4 months. Also just had the annual inspection done which was $380.
This 911 is my only car so its reliable and very well maintained, I depend on it every day. I live 60 miles from work so I put 120-150 miles a day on her, hence the 129,000 miles. 85% highway miles.
The reason I'm selling her is cause I'm looking at upgrading to a 911 Turbo.
NADA VALUE is $18,550
KBB VALUE is $16,177

Porsche 918 Spyder pre-production version in all its almost-done glory
Sun, 18 Aug 2013Porsche continues the long tease of its upcoming 918 Spyder, with the latest instantiation here at the Pebble Beach Concours, with the car presented in pre-production form to the throngs on the golf course.
Just a few days ago Porsche dropped an image of the car on its official Twitter feed. True to that leak, this 918 looks damn near what we expect the full customer version to be when it is officially debuted in Frankfurt. The neon-green brake calipers are items new to this version of the 918, and seem to be an identical color to those found on the Panamera S E-Hybrid.
When it shows up as a drivable piece, expect the Porsche supercar, with its gasoline-electric drivetrain, to be pretty insane. Horsepower in excess of 800 ponies will be available with a toe-tap, while the price of entry is expected to come within shouting distance of $850,000. A good deal for Porsche to bring the thing to Pebble then, where buyers with that kind of cash are think on the ground (and most likely wearing sherbet-colored trousers).
Motor Trend hits Laguna Seca with Ferrari F12, Chevy Corvette, Porsche 911
Thu, 26 Sep 2013According to the crew at Motor Trend, we should think of the video below "as an addendum to Best Driver's Car," a test the magazine put together that elevated the 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S above all others in the category of driving joy. It seems the brand-new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray wasn't able to take part in the magazine's official test, and neither was the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
And so Motor Trend did the only logical thing: It procured both the 'Vette and Prancing Horse as soon as it could, and put them both on track with the Driver's Car-winning 911. Of course, these cars don't actually compete against each other - the Ferrari offers up 731 horsepower and wears an asking price of $434,144 as tested, which means you could buy four loaded Corvettes for the price of one F12, and still have money left for a garage to store them in - but that's not the point of this particular test.
The point of this test isn't to listen to the beautiful sounds coming from the Porsche's flat-six-cylinder, the Corvette's pushrod V8 or the Ferrari's luscious V12, either, but the video below is worth watching for those three reasons alone. You know what to do.
Porsche Cayman, Boxster caught in GTS trim
Sat, 18 Jan 2014A few months ago, we reported on some leaked information from an internal presentation for upcoming Porsche models. This included details about the Macan and the 911 Targa, which we now know to be true, but there was also talk about GTS versions of the Cayman and Boxster.
Well, it appears we're now getting our first look at these GTS models, as our spy photographers have just snapped a pair of Porsche prototypes out testing - one Cayman and one Boxster.
Right off the bat, we can see that both GTS-branded cars will get a slightly tweaked exterior with new fascias (bringing LED daytime running lights to the Cayman) and air diffusers at the rear. The true gem of these cars will be the added horsepower to the tune of 340 horsepower - a 15-hp bump. A manual transmission will likely be standard, as will Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
