1999 Porsche Carrera Convertible

*Low Miles*

This stunning sports car is a 1999 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet. Inside and out, this 911 is in very good condition. Garage kept with cover in a non-smoking home. It has been very well maintained and serviced. As a result, it runs and drives excellent. It has a clean New Jersey title, and you won’t find any rust or corrosion. Here is your opportunity to own a late model Porsche at an affordable price. Offered at a special end of season price the top bidder will own this stunning 911.

The body panels are straight and the panel gap and fitment is factory. A recent detail and polish brought out the full luster and shine of the paint.

The exterior has been upgraded with aftermarket 19-inch wheels and tires that really enhance the look. The wheels are wrapped in TOYO tires that have very nice tread. The wheels are in excellent shape and have no markings or scratches from being curbed.

All the exterior glass is clear without any pitting or cracks. Even the black trim around the glass is nice. The body side moldings and bumpers are dent free.

Open the doors and you will find the luxurious, yet sporty interior is in very good condition. The seats are upholstered in gray leather. It also has the optional leather dash pad and door panels. The front driver and passenger are treated to power adjustable seats with memory settings for the driver. When the road gets twisty, the side bolsters will help keep everyone in place. You will also be kept comfortable by the fully automatic climate control system and air conditioning that blows ice cold.  The carbon fiber above the AC vents has lifted a little on either side. When you want to feel the wind in your hair, you can easily put the top down and cruise.  Again there is a minor crack in the soft-top plastic window but I’ve learned to live with that as most of the time the top is down or the hard top on in winter months.

The steering wheel is wrapped in a combination of leather/carbon fiber. The stereo is enhanced with an XM radio and the original Porsche unit (on ebutton sticks) that includes carbon fiber wrapped speakers including a 6-disc CD changer that has been nicely integrated in the storage compartment. The interior is smoke free and has no odors.

In the door jams you will find soft and supple weather-stripping. The dashboard pictures are enclosed for a closer look; just carbon fiber slightly lifted over AC vents as noted. The gauge cluster provides the driver with a host of information. All the gauges function properly including the digital screen below the tachometer.

The carpet is stain free and stands tall with no signs of wear marks. Brand new Porsche floor mats protect the carpet. The door panels are very straight and do not have any signs of warping or fading from the elements.

Being a Porsche, this car is a dream to drive. The combination of the bigger wheels and tires makes this car feel as if it is glued to the road!

In the back, you will find a tidy and clean engine compartment. This is one strong running Porsche that is powered by a 3.4L 6-cylinder engine. It fires up immediately and the distinctly Porsche exhaust note is played through dual exhaust. The engine is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission w/ Tiptronics option that shifts smoothly through all the gears.

This Porsche was regularly driven and still has a lot of life left in it.  This is a unique opportunity to purchase an affordable Porsche. You won’t find a Porsche this nice with LOW miles.

Bid confidently and bid often. You won’t find another like this!

Please contact seller if you have any questions.

Highest bidder will own this vehicle. Please bid only if you are serious about purchasing this vehicle. Bidders with 0 feedback will need to contact me before bidding. Negative Feedback Bidders will be blocked. Good Luck and Happy Bidding.

NHTSA, IIHS, and 20 automakers to make auto braking standard by 2022

Thu, Mar 17 2016

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and virtually every automaker in the US domestic market have announced a pact to make automatic emergency braking standard by 2022. Here's the full rundown of companies involved: BMW, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Subaru, Tesla, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo (not to mention the brands that fall under each automaker's respective umbrella). Like we reported yesterday, AEB will be as ubiquitous in the future as traction and stability control are today. But the thing to note here is that this is not a governmental mandate. It's truly an agreement between automakers and the government, a fact that NHTSA claims will lead to widespread adoption three years sooner than a formal rule. That fact in itself should prevent up to 28,000 crashes and 12,000 injuries. The agreement will come into effect in two waves. For the majority of vehicles on the road – those with gross vehicle weights below 8,500 pounds – AEB will need to be standard equipment by September 1, 2022. Vehicles between 8,501 and 10,000 pounds will have an extra three years to offer AEB. "It's an exciting time for vehicle safety. By proactively making emergency braking systems standard equipment on their vehicles, these 20 automakers will help prevent thousands of crashes and save lives," said Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx said in an official statement. "It's a win for safety and a win for consumers." Read on for the official press release from NHTSA. Automakers making the commitment are Audi, BMW, FCA US LLC, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Kia, Maserati, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Porsche, Subaru, Tesla Motors Inc., Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo Car USA.

2014 Porsche 911 Targa

Tue, 15 Apr 2014

I've watched the electro-hydraulic roof panel open and close about 73 times in the past hour, but its fascinatingly complicated operation still has me mesmerized. I've concluded that only a German automaker - Porsche, to be more specific - would go through the trouble of engineering a roof system that essentially lifts the entire greenhouse off a vehicle, rearranges its components like a sliding-tile puzzle, and then reassembles all of them seamlessly (sans roof panel) to accurately recreate one of its most famed bodystyles.
The 2014 Porsche 911 Targa is a near-perfect modern interpretation of the automaker's 1965 911 Targa, a semi-convertible bodystyle that represents nearly 13 percent of all 911 models sold since production started 50 years ago. While the early car's roof was purely manual in operation - that's the period-correct way of saying that the driver did all of the muscle work - today's Targa is a completely automated transformation that requires only that the driver hold down a cabin-mounted switch for a mere 19 seconds to let the captivating show run its course.
After studying the Targa's elaborate roof operation at its launch at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year, I was sufficiently intrigued. To that end, I traveled one-third of the way around the planet to southern Italy, hoping that the Mediterranean climate would reveal a bit more about the reintroduction of the automaker's iconic sports car.

Porsche celebrates 50 years of 911 with some excellent pics

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

The Porsche 911 is one of the most iconic sports cars of all time, and to celebrate the car's first 50 years, Porsche has released a stunning set of photos showing how far the 911 has come from the original back in 1963 to its current 991 generation. Unlike the recent 60-year photo spread that Chevrolet put together for the Corvette, though, Porsche's gallery only shows the original 911 and the current car.
Each time the 911 is redesigned, the car's front fenders, roofline and the shape of the side windows are key focal points. Even some of the interior cues have remained the same over the years, including the positioning of the ignition key on the left of the steering column and the five-gauge instrument cluster layout.
Scroll down for Porsche's press release breaking down the seven generations of the 911, and be sure to check out our gallery with plenty of high-res pics for you to download as a desktop wallpaper. In fact, we're providing these at 1920-pixels-wide instead of our usual 1280 wide. Enjoy!
